It must be so extremely frustrating when you are sitting there, studying, training for the hardest possible questions in math, reading, and grammar and when you get your score - you are flustered. How could I have possibly missed this? You get mad...
After I started offering a guarantee for my tutoring services, I needed to make sure that my clients do end up undoing all the hard work we did by making a lot of stupid mistakes and I found a solution.
It was evident to me that my clients were treating the SAT and the ACT just like another high - school test while the SAT and the ACT require a different approach.
I remind my students that they will not be getting a partial credit on the ACT math just because they understand the concept of something, but performed the calculations wrong.

Katya, if you update this video make sure your students know the difference between "cited" and "sited" ~ I think you missed that important distinction. I love your videos and especially the SAT essay section, which will make a powerful difference for my kiddo. You are masterful. Dyslexics untie! LOL. (We have a gift.)

I have a question about the sat with essay. So I’m applying to colleges that require the essay and also colleges that don’t require (nor recommend) the essay. So can I submit the sat that I took with the essay but just not submit the essay part to the colleges that don’t require it? Or would I have to take the sat again without the essay to submit it to my other colleges? Ps: really great video!

Hello, thanks for the video! Quick question: How can a CAS calculator help on the sat?
@KatyaTutorSAT
@KatyaTutorSAT 3 года назад
Hi!! Hardly. Most questions are designed to be solved using a simple calculator. I never see the need for fancy equipment. Use a regular TI - 84.

Can you please make a playlist or series of explaining all official SAT practice tests? The explanation given in collegeboard book is like "A is right because A is right. B is wrong because B is wrong".
@KatyaTutorSAT
@KatyaTutorSAT 3 года назад
Jatin Verma OMG! You couldn’t be more correct. SAT’s explanations are pretty bad. understandably so - they don’t want to give up their secrets. Otherwise, everyone would get 1600 and they will be out of business. I don’t plan on creating explanations for every answer in 2020, but you can send me a specific question and I’ll create an explanation for you. I’ll add it to RU-vid and say - Jatin’s Request. You can try 1600.io they have explanations for everything. Although I don’t recommend 1600.io for SAT prep, you can use it if you don’t have a tutor.

@@KatyaTutorSAT why you don't recommend 1600.io?? They have the best explanations and do many live sessions which are so helpful.

Many people say you shouldn’t get carried away in details, as doing that, you will lose sense of the passage as a whole,but you advice you should focus on the details… which is the better approach?
