Fabulous, nice, clear and concise! Great video. Decal like the Brits and Canadians say, eh! Deecal is what the Yanks say. I've said DEECAL a few times in my videos for my American friends! ☺️
In my experience, normal gloss acrylic varnish you get at the decorating store is far superior and as you thin it for brush painting or airbrush , you pretty much get as much out of a small tin as out of a bottle of future . And yes I have used both . M
Well I'll disagree on both counts, performance is subject to indvidual use I'll give you that but in the past 45 years of building I've used virtually every type of clear but keep coming back to the Pledge (Future) and Tamiya X-22. Your cost statement is just not backed up by math. A 10ml bottle Tamiya X-22 clear costs .60/ml, thinned by 50% is .30/ml. A bottle of Pledge works out to .015/ml so....ya.
Ooooowwww I can here the members of one Facebook group crying and screaming at their screens right now. Ha ha ha good stuff, mate, only ever used that once I think as its quite hard get over here in the UK. Im like you after the initial painting etc I use Tamiyas bits and I have some 9f their lacquers now to. For final cotes etc Cain I use the Winsor and Newton flat matt galleria gloss or I, very occasionally use the allcllad. Hope you and your family are all well buddy and please stay safe
Mottys Military Models Hey Motty Thanks man. Yeah it’s crazy times isn’t it? My Wife is a nurse so it’s been a challenge for sure. Not sure why but using Future as a gloss seems to be a polarizing topic with modellers. Look after yourself.
Very true mate. Please pass on my thanks to your wife. I also think that the nurses family's also need to be thanked to, as you guys are the ones that are not knowing what or if they are going to come back at the end of a shift. My ex said that to me because of my job in our Prison Service. It's dangerous and it can't be helped. Stay safe my friend
John Pol Lower air pressure is important. If your too far away you run the risk of having the atomized particles drying before they hit the surface and causing a rough sandpaper like finish.
@@ScaleModelAlberta Thanks for the quick response! So if I already own that Vallejo gloss varnish I shouldn't be bothered to try finding Pledge/Future from ebay etc? (We don't have a direct equivalent over here in Scandinavia)? My main usage for that would be using it to help on setting decals and protecting the underlying water based acrylic basecoats before doing enamel/oil weathering. I've seen some people say that vallejo varnish might react to white spirits or the enamels. But there is lots of conflicting information about this so I dunno what to do...
waiting 24 hours is good but not really necessary. It's made for your floor and will dry with in an hour or 2 and be ready for what you need to do next.
I have dragon kit 6330 which us a Panzer IV D with a long Barrel 75mm pak40 L/43 gun. If I rememger right yhe Matrkings are foe 1944. Still have to build this one.
