How To Become A Nail Tech! 

I started nail school right after high school. I was 18 at the time, the youngest student at the beauty school. All my classmates were in their late 20s and 30s, and all they did was bully me. I had no experience or knew anything about nails at the time, so I often asked questions. They would say things such as “why are you even here if you don’t know anything?” or “you’re never gonna go anywhere in life”. I did go through an emotional rollercoaster at the time, listening to what they were saying to me and reconsidered continuing the nail program. I finished the program, waited over a year, and then finally got my license. A few years have passed and I’m now manager and nail technician at a very high end nail salon. I’ve had a very bumpy start, but I was able to move past the haters and bullies to fulfill my dream. People don’t realize how much money you can make as a nail technician. I wouldn’t be as successful as I am today if it weren’t for my classmates who talked down on me, because their hatred and trash talk was what made me work so hard to get this far.

I start nail school on April 3rd! It’s a 10 week course and only $1700. I’ve loved nails and polish for years and years and I’m so excited!!

Yes I'd love a nail school video of what it was like. I'm an older woman who wants to go to a nail school in my area because I've always loved nails, but I'm nervous because of my age I guess, that it will be weird.

I use poly gel. I am a beginner and only do nails for free. Since I know they will pop off early and they might not be perfect. I think they look pretty good for a beginner. I know I can perfect the sculpture of the nail. It’s so satisfying I love it. The thing is...I’m scared to take the leap of faith and go to school for it lol.

There is no nail tech program/school or anything of that sort near me. I went to paul mitchell and that was as close to a nail program as I could get and it was a one day class on a basic mani and pedi

Hey I literally just subscribed and I just finished watching on your three part video about your experience with nails school I'll actually be starting nail school on Monday and my question is I am actually really interested in the Nail art like you mentioned I have always loved nails & done nails at home as a hobby so I figured why not get a license in it . So I was wondering if you will be doing more videos on nail art in general and on 3D like you mentioned before I would definitely be interested in the 3-D art one !

Ngl Im actually pretty young to think about my future career but I am rn interested to become a nail tech. The problem is that there are tons of ppl saying that nail tech is not good enough for a job... Some ppl again says that the get alot of money ofc some ppl are better nail techs and stuff but idk.

How do you think a totally organic mobile spa salon would do. I hv plenty of ideas for this. I do not use the acrylic or polish. I personally like the pampering and the natural elements like salt,sugar, baking soda and such. I want to give Clients a cure to issues not a fix to cover and chemicals to do more harm. I just wonder if others think like me and how this would do, I’d spend more time cleaning and preparing feet and hands than I hv received at a solan, I feel even at nice places they rush

Before starting your classes did you need to take a placement test or anything

is there a difference between a nail tech and a manicurist? Does a manicurist also massage hands/put lotions on and stuff? I wondered also if you'd face a lot of competition opening your own nail salon, around here there can be 10 in the same large town! You'd have to stand out somehow. I've seen videos, but nothing thorough enough, that shows you the full procedures for every treatment.

I'm a male and wanna do nails because my wife and her mother does it but I want to know should I go get educational training or can I just let my wife and mother in law show me how to break into it?
