That’s great! Good luck. I’m studying the 40 hours training now. I’m reading about everything but still trying to figure it out….. maybe you can help me? After the 40 hours training, what next? I saw I need to take A Competency Assessment How I sign for it? What’s the process? How much it cost? What if I fail in it? Any information you have would help me Thank you
You’re seriously, seriously, such a gift to aspiring professionals, and moreover behaviorism as a whole! Chefs kiss level gift, thank you for all you do!
Wow. this page has helped a ton already! I’m currently looking into changing my career and becoming an RBT (BCaBA in the end). I already have my bachelors in psychology and ready to put it to use! thank you for all of your information. I will be starting training within the next month! ☺️
Do you need to have a bachelor on psychology to get this certification? Just asking… I studied psychology in my country but i couldn’t finish it… but I’m really interested about this because of my previous career.
I can’t afford you but I’m glad that you have these free resources on RU-vid. I’m about to start my training soon. And I will be going back to school soon to major in special education. I’m super excited about finding this career because I was so sad about being a teacher even though teaching is my passion.
Thank you so much for this video! I'm a recent college graduate, B.A. Psychology, and have been exploring possible career paths. I'd never heard of RBT before two days ago, but I've somehow landed a phone interview next week for an AIM clinic that would pay for my training if they hire me. After reading about being an RBT, I'm really interested in pursuing this path, even if I don't land the job that I'm interviewing for. Your channel is a life-saver in learning about RBT!
@V P Thank you! Yes, I'm aware that it's controversial to some people. Now that I've been immersed in ABA for a few weeks, I'm finding that a lot of the people who have spoken out against their particular experience of ABA (and rightly so!) have not experienced the way ABA ought to be. (Or, perhaps they didn't even need ABA therapy and their BCBAs/therapists/family wrongfully put them in and pushed them through ABA therapy.) Thankfully, the organization I'm working for does NOT do any of the things that I've heard people on the autism spectrum mention that they've experienced with other organizations.
I’m so excited for this training I start my new job as an RBT on may 30th and I have been doing my research on the RBT 40hour training I found it for free and I am now doing my 40hr training there even tho my employer pays for my RBT training and my exam but I want to make sure I understand everything before I go on to do my 2nd 40 hour training I rather go through it twice and make sure I understand everything. You are so helpful I was so excited to see you post a new video thank you for all the advice
Hello Brenda! I’m so excited that your excited! If you have any further questions regarding the training please email me at info@abasource.com I’d be happy to answer any questions you may have! Thank you for supporting what I do! More videos to Come very soon!
I live in CA & was recruited for ABA position for a company. i graduated this year with a BA in CDFS & a BA in FLE. with that being said i was hired first about a month and a half ago & i am currently completing my 40 hr training while simultaneously starting my cases. It has been a great experience so far & agree that you NEED to take the 40 hr training seriously (i didnt at first). now i am going back & rewatching some of the content because it actually helps when you are working with a child & putting that knowledge into practice! loved the video
I am so excited about ABA Source! I’ve been binging your videos and considering RBT things for months now and aba source seems like it will make the process so much easier and have me feeling fully prepped 💕💖
You’re so sweet, thank you 💙 Trust me, we are just as excited to get everyone trained and confident to join the field as you guys are to start! So… What are you waiting for? Let me know if you have any questions! 💙
Thank you so much for the review . I am new to this field and looking for information so he was extremely great. Hopefully that I’ll be taking the step to join the field. I’m comparing several different options but thanks again appreciate the steps.
How do I find an RBT supervisor or requirements coordinator to complete a portion of my application confirming that they are willing to supervise me after I become a certified RBT? I am confused. Thank you.
I have my arc certificate I'm employment support specialist. I have work with idd for many years I'm wanting to advance my career in this field and I'm interviewing in Tuesday for RBT positions. Nice video
This video was SO HELPFUL, thank you💓 My only question is with the background check, how does that work if I’m not going through an employer? Do I have it sent automatically to the board?
I’m currently working on my masters in research and diagnostic psychology (I have my bachelors in clinical psychology) and want to do diagnostic and research in autism an autism spectrum disorders primarily. But I am currently working as a certified RBT and love the company I work for but it’s inspired me to do my own one day when I finish my school. I have two questions one would I have to be a BCBA to start and own my own company (especially if I have hired BCBA’s and will provide diagnostic and general counseling as well as ABA). And two if I do have to be one or decide to could you make video that describes in better detail then the website the different ways you can go about becoming a bcba. I primarily interested in pathway 3 “faculty teaching and research.”
I couldnt access my exam last week online, although l ran all tests to make sure everything is alright They said they couldnt see my face on camera. I hope it works today coz it is really stressful
Omg I’ve been watching your page all week. I have worked with kids before and it was the best job ever, I’ve also been a member of the best buddies club. I live in Miami FL and was thinking about becoming an RBT. How long would it be until I start working??
Hi! Welcome to the channel💜 if you were to get certified through us (aba source) you could start work within 2 months. Depends of course on how quick you get it done!
I became an RBT in FL, moved to Cali, became and RBT here but now moving back to FL. However I’ve been in the special Ed field for 15 years. Even with that, your knowledge in the area is refreshing and beneficial. A quick question for you. I’ve always done my therapies at the homes but just received a new position in a clinic which I’m excited about. Was curious to know your thoughts on if you’ve ever worked in a facility rather than traveling from home to home. And if so, which do you prefer and do you notice difference in behavior and attention from one environment to another? Hope to hear from you and a thank you in advance.
Just a little confused what credentials would the assessor need for confirm me for the assement step? Could you briefly explain the assement? would i need to turn in a form?
Hi I’m a behavioral health tech and want to become a RBT I started my process, completed my 40 hours training, now stuck on the online competency training cause the employer I was doing it through was having issues. Can you please help on how I should proceed? Thank you I appreciate you
I have a RBT question. I am a registered behavior Technician. I currently became inactive in August, due to me resigning from my job as a RBT. I plan to start back full-time working as a RBT. Will I have to do the process all over again? or do a competency assessment. Don't want to loose the RBT certification being that i'm inactive as of now.
Thanks for the info. Is there a next step after rbt? I have one semester left in school for a a bachelor's but I've run out of aide to pay for school. Just trying to see my options
So are you supposed complete the 40 hr training before you’d make an account the bacb website and fill out all of that information? Or do you fill o the RBT application instructions first before anything? Also where do you go to find a supervisor for this?? I am lost lol
Hi, good to hear from you. A friend introduced me who is currently doing the course. I am interested. How do I get more information on the 40-hour step 1 session, to enable me to start. How much I'd the cost. You did not mention it.
Hi! I’m from Florida as well, just curious how hard it is getting a job after getting your certificate.. also have you ever heard of autism partnership foundation? They provide a free 40 hour training and also test questions… just wanted to see what you know about that or if I would be waiting my time going through them. My son is autistic so this field would work great with my life and understanding children with special needs
Hi Allyson! You could say I am a little biased but my company aba source has the best program out there! 😉 I created a course that I wish I could have had while going through my own journey! abasource.com
Good evening I have a few questions for you! I live in Minnesota and I currently work in a school district where I am the one handling all of the behaviors in my building I have been doing this for many years doing the ABC paperwork working with special education teachers, behavior analyst and reporting all of the things to help these children succeed. I'm wondering how I can obtain this certification within my district and the steps that are needed to be able to do accomplish this ?
so are BCAB certifications the same as RBT certifications ? Do you need a BCAB to become an RBT or how does it work? Are RBT Certifications completely different than BCAB Certs? I would love the help! Love the video btw!
No they are very different… a BCBA holds a masters degree while RBT’s need a high school diploma and a few other things! if you are interested in becoming RBT certified or are looking to learn more visit www.abasource.com
Hi, I’m a mom and I want to get my RBT training so I can help and support the ABA team that works with my child. I am not looking for a career. Is this the right program for me?
I've been looking into certifications to get into. I met the requirements and I also have an AAS in Admin Office but do you need a Bachelor's or anything before becoming an RBT?
U don't need a bachelor's degree before becoming an RBT. The basic requirements are high diploma or g.e.d pass background check and be at least 18 years old and older
@@alexbella99 yup I can pass the background and have the HS diploma so they provide on the job training? That's what I was wondering about but also if you needed another degree before starting but you covered that ☺
Hi Anna, for the past 10 years, I have worked in the child care industry and recently stumbled upon the RBT position. Do you think I can be successful within the ABA field with my experience with infants, toddlers and preschoolers?
@@ABASource Omg, how exciting! I have an interview with a local company tomorrow, they train and cover certification. If things don't work out, I definitely plan to look into what ABA Source has to offer.
Hi! I have 2 questions for you. Please answer. Can I take your course if I live in philadelphia Pa. Would you be able to help find job here when I finish the program?
Hi Julie! Yes you may take our course from Philadelphia! At this time however ABA source is not partnered with any companies in PA to assist in your job search.
Is your course an actual credited source through the BACB? I’m just a little confused with the application process and finding someone to help me with all my questions?
Yes, of course it is! If you have questions regarding the course please feel free to dm me at behavior_works on Instagram or shoot me an email info@abasource.com 😊
We will give you the competency assessment after you attend our competency assessment training. It runs about 2-3 hours on zoom and you’ll review everything you’re going to be assessed on 🥳
Hi there! Where do you start in becoming a RBT with no degree, Highschool graduate, some college credit's? Do you just start studying to become an RBT? Thanks in advance!
