I want to request a video on how your life as an RBT has been affected because of the pandemic. So for example, what changes if any your company has made? Are you still able to see each of your clients the same amount of hours or at all? If you could I'd greatly appreciate that video as I have all the others. Keep up the good work!

Hi Cynthia, not that I am aware of! But you already have your Masters which the hardest part! Just start working as a RBT and get those hours under your belt!
I need advice!! 😬 I am new (2 months), and my current case is a bit rough. I get that in this field, I will have to deal with aggression, but I don't know when to draw the line and ask to be switched. I had great instructional control, but got covid and was out a week. Last Sat, Monday and Tuesday (yesterday), were so incredibly rough. I tried helping the family from the aggression by moving the kiddo into the room I needed him into. When he is told no, or has to wait, or is transitioning to something he doesn't want, he will have a tantrum and persues others with aggression. There is no place besides locking ourselves in a room when he is at peak where we can be safe without aggression. Obviously we can't do that, so while I was trying to block access to something, he began aggression towards me. He is a kiddo that can have multiple aggressive tantrums in a session. His BSP won't allow holds, so I don't know what to do when redirection doesnt help. I'm told to disengage, but how do you do that if they are actively pursuing you? They obviously need an experienced RBT, and I'm not that. I understand this is part of the job, but at what point is it better to be switched out, vs stay? My BCBA told me after coming back from time away, this is normal and would happen no matter what case I work. Kiddo's just degress when schedules change. What is your advice?

Autism Journey Thank you for being so supportive! The ABA sequence is to be taken with your Bachelors (or after you have acquired your bachelors degree) to become a BCaBA! I do plan to start Graduate School in the near future to become a BCBA! Congratulations on beginning your 40 hour training! Hope this helps ❤️

I went to UCF and I got my bachelors in clinical psychology, my next step is to take the exam, and I’m still at UCF about to get my masters in early childhood development education, so hope to become a BCBA in a few years

Hi there! I love your videos they're so informational :) I am currently a full time community college student working towards become a psychologist. Do you think this is something good to pursue as a stepping stone to becoming a psychologist? Is it even possible to maintain going to college and working as an RBT?
I apologize for the late reply your comment snuck by me! I think it would a great experience to have under your belt yes! I would recommend working a part time case while in school if you manage that financially because it can get overwhelming. If not then working with clients during the day and going to school at night can be done.
Thanks for your videos! I'm highly considering this field and want to start with RBT, and you've been so helpful! I do have a few questions about school: Did you go to that university because they those ABA courses? Are the courses part of a program/major?
Im so glad you have found the videos helpful! I went to FIU because it is very close to me and because they offer the ABA sequence I mentioned! As long as the school offers an ABA sequence you’re good! The sequence is separate from any major, like I said you can actually get a Bachelors in any area and sit for the exam as long as you have done the sequence and have your hours done:)
Is this job physically taxing? Also can you do a pros and cons of being an RBT video for someone like me who is on the fence of wether or not this is for me?
Yes it definitely can be depending on the client. For example for my morning client it is physically demanding but for my afternoon client it is not! Two different clients with different behavior repertoires! Just depends

I really enjoy learning from your videos and I have applied to Fusion Autism Center for an RBT position. I know they are also called Florida Autism Center and I've gotten an email stating that their hiring process is basically on hold due to Carona Virus. Can you tell me how you as an RBT are affected by the virus? Are you deemed "essential" and still able to work? Have you or RBTs you know been laid off? If you are working still is there any viable way to work from home?
Hi Katelyn! Both of my clients parents have chosen to discontinue services for the time being which I agree to for both the well being of my clients as well as my own! The majority of RBT’s in my agency have also found themselves to be in this same situation. RBT’s are deemed as essential and could be working regardless of the circumstances as long as the parents are okay with it! Although I am not working right now, I still do have my clients to go back to once this situation is all said and done with. The only way I could see a RBT losing their clients due to COVID-19 is if the RBT chooses to discontinue services while the parents would still like services to be provided during this time. As of right now, only some insurance companies allow RBTs to give sessions using telehealth from home. Hope this answers your questions.
Hi Anna, do you know the difference between rbt hourly pay and bcaba hourly pay? Online it's clear to figure out rbt hourly pay but it's not so clear to figure out bcaba hourly pay!
Hi i have a question about RBT EXAM ONline testing with pearson vue. i tried to take my sch exam last night had issues but no error messages i was trying to start my exam and it wouldnt begin and i couldnt complete checkin process and i did the system test run so i dont know i tried calling pearson vue three times no help and i had to resch for a new exam three days away so i am hoping to get this figured out beforehand
I apologize Crystal but I can’t help you on this one :( This whole online testing is brand new and I’m not familiar with it yet. You’re best bet is to contact Pearson Vue and have them help you, sounds like a technical problem. Good luck to you. Wish I could have been of more help:(
@@ABASource part time hours mainly equally out to only 29 with hours ranging 4 hours a day. Do you recommend calling local clinics even if they don't have listings? It would give me a chance at inpatient but im open to bother
It’s not uncommon for RBT’s to work for two different agencies. You might have one client from one agency in the morning and an afternoon client from another agency. Many RBT’s take this route if they can’t find full time in one agency.
$45 for the Pearson view RBT board exam every time you take it. There is also a fee you need to pay to the board which is $50 I believe. In that ballpark!
