Nice shooting, Lilly! Your technique really is the same as shooting a firearm where three points - rearsight, frontsight, and target - are aligned.

I want Lilly on my team when the bombs drop! Keep in mind when actually hunting you have to account for string jump. String jump will be massively different depending on range and species you're hunting.

I was thoroughly impressed by 5:40. You analyze your results with logic learning from every fail and this application of intellect is proving itself invaluable (I watched every other archery video of yours). In a true survival situation you will prevail nicely. Oh and you had fun doing playing in the woods today, what could be better.

Very informative post , thank you... Been prepping like there is no tomorrow , because there might not be one we are expecting , talked to my kids about archery... they both want cross bows... I know that being proficient with a bow has to be better than using a crosbow... But , Dad doesn't know anything... thank you for the information... you are the Artemis of this generation , with a much Hotter accent . Thank you.

Love watching your videos Lily, on your really informative video on the Samik Sage Bow, I went and ordered one myself along with all the different poundage limbs. Currently on the 40 lb limbs and am about to move up to 45 lbs. Feeling quite comfortable at the 40's now. I wanted to ask at what poundage are you currently at now with your Samick Sage. Keep your wonderful videos coming Lily. I'm learning so much from you.

Lily there is a bolstering that hooks onto your middle finger or your middle finger comes around and hooks onto your thumb. That way you don't have to grip your bow but you can cut your bowl in your hand so it's your shooting straight at your target without a wrist turning you might try that. If you ever come to

Two things, 1) What weight of bow are you using in this video? 2) In a hunt situation, never take your eye off the target (Animal / prop, whatever). Not only do you lose eyeshot to the target but if it is only wounded, it may be coming after you. Get proficient in drawing the next arrow from the quiver without looking back every time.

I was taught to shoot a bow when I was just 6 years old by my mother. She out lined every thing you just said. By the time I was 12 years old I could hit a dime five out of five times at 15 meters and do the same to a quarter at 30 meters. I learned also to pull back with my shoulder blades instead of my arms and move to the target instead of trying to hold on the target. In doing this I could shoot moving targets easier. The last time I was in a competition I scored higher than everyone else as I only missed one bulls eye by .25cm. That was when I was 58 years old.
@GeorgeShook-su8fs
@GeorgeShook-su8fs 4 месяца назад
On your bow you have a insert that you screw a counterweight on to it like for for stabilization you can pick up a holder that goes around your wrist from that point around your wrist that would hold the bow in place if your hand is looser on your wrist.

Interesting video, thanks. I’m thinking of getting a bow for field target shooting. I’m experienced with firearms but not bows, fortunately I have access to private woodland where I can practice. I’d like a fairly simple recurve bow but no idea what to purchase, there is a good archery store near me so hope to get good advice there.

Awesome Lilly the judge if a good archer is one who doesn’t use a sight. Judging the yardage is the key. I do the same it’s like a rifle. Started on bow at like 8 even my school had archery week. I never need a optic on a firearm.

I do the same thing, with most every range shoot's, which is 3 days a week, about 120 arrows per session. I'll start at 10 yards to 35 yards, respectively. I'll just add this I don't slant shoot my bow, I feel better with the bow straight up and down, not on a slant. My anchor point is with my longest finger tucked into the corner of my mouth, which gives me a view down the arrows shaft, maybe it's just my facial shape which promotes this, someone else might be a bit different with alignment. Anyway this works for me.
