I admitted I had a problem almost 6 years ago. This January 14th will be my 6-year anniversary of being on keto with absolutely NO cheat days. Never felt better. It is easy to avoid bad foods when I think about the arthritis, IBS, dizzy spells, lack of energy and the brain fog I never knew existed until it was gone. Stay strong folks. If I can do it, then so can you all.

"Everything in moderation" is a LIE, and it drives me absolutely crazy! When I first started keto, I had so many people tell me I just needed to "eat less and exercise more". They (and I) had no idea that I was so highly addicted to sugar and processed food. Now that I see it for what it really is, my life has been completely changed. 4 months in, 40 pounds down, and feeling amazing!

I've been overweight my whole life and never had been able to stick to any diet. I've been trying to do plant-based sos since 2014 always without any weight loss and feeling miserable thinking I was broken, always craved junk food I thought I had a food addiction. I never could stop thinking about junk food 24/7. I bought book after book hoping something would click, all while gaining more and more weight. I finally decided to start the keto/ carnivore diet. Day three and no cravings, lost 5lbs and intermittent fasting. My eating window is 12 to 5pm and I am NOT hungry!!!! That is what blows my mind. I'm 37 and I have never had a day in my life I wasn't obsessing over food or dreading eating healthy. I know it's only day 3 but this is a huge deal to me. I know myself and I know I’m able to get back on track on Boxing Day, and stay that way. It takes practise, and it’s definitely all in the mind. Once I learned the reason that stress causes cravings it helped me to stop getting even more stressed thinking that I was just being "weak"; there is a physical reason - stress produces cortisol which uses the glucose in the blood which then causes the cravings for sugar and carbs. If I get to the point where I have to eat something then I have something that is "allowed" and it means that I don't add guilt which can then create a vicious cycle. I hope this helps someone else, because it was a huge relief to me when I understood it.

Outstanding video! I watched to see how much I recognized. My favorite is the "friend" who is 50 pounds overweight, who is rooting for you to lose. I did have to break out the F you a few times to get those to shut up. Now those people are asking me about my diet. I start by telling them, "Nutrition matters." I prefer the word nutrition to diet. Diet implies going hungry and with proper nutrition there is no need to be hungry.

I have a fat diabetic person under the same roof and despite everyone else losing weight and improving their health under keto or low carb they are super militant against Keto and refuse to get rid of junk food. So to work around it and still lose weight on keto I made sure to have a room to retreat to so that food (especially junk food) was out of sight and mind. On top of that I worked multi day fasts into every week. From Thursday night to Sunday morning. After a while I no longer had a desire to eat snacks or junk food even if being around it for a while.

We are now a carnivore family and the results are insane. We are stronger, happier and healthier than ever before. My wife litterally looks 10-15 years younger and my son(17) looks and performs like a beast on his jobs, at school and at the gym. I´m the one who´s got the longest way to go with my health after 35 years of severe IBS, CPTSD, several autoimmune conditions, Panic attacks and so much gout I´ve walked around with a walkingstick for long periods of time. I still have alot to manage but DAMN: My sleep is getting better, no more bloody stools and IBS is slowly getting better. No more gout and joint pain what so ever, All my skin issues is gone and my mental state is actually improving. I´ve managed to go on long walks without severe panick attacks and I´ve picked up the dumbells again. Still a long ways to go but I´m slowly getting where I´m at least able to live a decent life without waking up in the morning every day thinking «shit, I´m still alive». Carnivore, regularly therapy and thousands of hours studying proper nutrition(keto and carnivore) has litterally saved my ass. Your tips are all the things I did when I started keto in 2017 and have never looked back. Fortunately I live alone and can easily escape from coworkers who try to feed me sugar. After all this time, I am just SO not tempted by sugars and carbs anymore, and I have to look at the people who try to push sugar onto me: they are so unhealthy and depressed and negative, it's sad. Thanks for advocating keto and carnivore. Dropped 40+lbs over the past 3 months and there’s no going back! Struggled with going Carnivore but honestly, I have never felt better.

Dr. Berry, I know you have covered it many times, but I think the all-American breakfast should be a part of the junk food addiction video. I have many friends that believe in breakfast cereal, a whole banana, orange juice and skim milk. I tell them they are eating junk and they look at me like I have two heads. I ate that for decades and after two hours I was looking for a donut. Now I eat eggs, bacon and sausage and feel so much better.

I have always hated to cook. HATED. I'm a pretty decent cook, some have said I'm a good cook, but I hate every minute of it. When I went keto that hate remained, and I found myself looking for "keto" frozen meals and easy foods, since that was what I was used to eating, in part because I hated to cook. But when I went carnivore the combination of there not being many fast options (hot dogs, but that gets old), plus the entire mental change in me, and the fact that cooking just meat makes cooking SO much more simple, and now I don't mind cooking at all. In fact, I've recently started making more complicated things with eggs, butter, cream cheese and the like, things that I have to actually measure, mix, and bake, and I haven't hated it. Honestly, carnivore has changed me in so many ways. It's crazy.

I am definitely a junk food junkie. It wasn't until I really got to the root of why I was eating the way I was eating did everything finally click into place. It can be difficult but it's worth it for my health.

I tried explaining to friends and family that I have an addiction to food, but that did nothing, as they said just eat less as society has taught them. So I realized that no one truly loves me except for myself and God. Once I had that realization and started the Carnivore Diet, I no longer had any cravings for junk food. And that happened quickly like within a week of starting the carnivore diet. 3 Months later I am still tempted with junk food from family, friends and coworkers, and it is readily available for me, but I can simply refuse it without a second thought. Coworkers literally brought in my favorite donuts, and set them near me, and I had no urge to pick up a donut. The carnivore diet has surely helped with the cravings for that junk food.

I do believe that the carnivore diet is the best way out of the very difficult addiction to food. This is a very hard addiction since you eventually must eat. You don't have to drink alcohol or snort coke or smoke crack or cigarettes. With food addiction the cold turkey is your addiction, so to say. I also believe that other addictions will be easier to deal with when carnivore is your diet. With carnivore you cannot escape satisfaction- you CAN get satisfaction.

@@YeshuaKingMessiah I had consistently maintained 160lb for decades. Then at the beginning of 2022, I started the vegetarian diet (it was my new year resolution to go veg), and in September, I was weighing around 172 lbs and felt sluggish most of the time. Cardio, 10,000 steps a day nothing worked to get my weight down, I gave at least 2 weeks for it to work but didn't. Also, I was ignorant of macronutrients. Took a nutrition class, and then I started counting calories now I can accurately guestimate which and what food contains how many calories, fat, protein, and carb (thanks to those few weeks of calorie counting period, I have memorized most of the food's nutritional value). In short, calorie counting didn't help when I was on veggie diet, didn't shed weight much as I would like to see. As soon as I went Keto, within a week I noticed my weight dropped massively like by 2-3 lbs and I was happy but then later the weight would jump back, which didn't make sense but I knew something was happening in my body. I am now saying I lost 9 lbs because I read my weight consistently as 162-163lbs and I kept continuing the keto diet which is mostly protein and fat, and an insignificant amount of carb, give or take under 20-30g carb on any given day. I will keep doing it to see how it progresses. But yeah, now I get why the elephant got big, lol jokes.
