Definitely one of our longer and more difficult videos to make! Let us know what you think! Comments and likes help this video reach more people, help us out ❤

What variety of guppies are those with the Cory's? Can't seem to find on the website
@BishopAquatics

@BensonBlake The orangeish ones? Or can you provide a timestamp?

@@BishopAquatics starting about 3:40. The males have orange tails with very large tail fins (delta?) It looks like the females have a blueish tail . Thanks
@BishopAquatics
@BishopAquatics 2 года назад
@BensonBlake Those are our Albino Sunrise Topaz Males, as far as I know, we're the only people with them as we bred them out as a mutation from our Albino Blue Topaz (the females with blue tails) You can see the same hint of the blue in the males bodies and tails as well. www.bishopaquatics.com/albino-sunrise-topaz-guppy

I have a question for you on the mop! As you pull the mop to check for eggs. Are you then putting a new mop into the tank and leaving the older mop in a grow out so eggs you may have missed hatch??? Or just put the eggs and replace???

Thank you for explaining the process, you're amazing and I love your tank! Your guppies are gorgeous too x

The nice thing with corydoras is that they are long lived AND are reproductive for many years of their life.
@BishopAquatics
@BishopAquatics Год назад
Very true! It takes them a long time to reach maturity, not that its a bad thing, just important to note that fry will take a long time to reach adulthood!

@BishopAquatics
@BishopAquatics 2 года назад
Except, they are! dun dun dun!
@majorbruster5916
@majorbruster5916 Год назад
Common mistake. Nearly all shops sell C. trilineatus as julii. The latter have fine spots on the head and shoulders, whereas trilineatus have wavy lines. A lot of books also have these misidentified. The true julii are scarce in the hobby, and command a higher price.
@corydaddydoras
@corydaddydoras Год назад
Yep, 100% not C. julii, it is C. trillianatus... trillianatus even has a spotted form that looks like julii but these are very obviously trilineatus .. 😪

My sterbai spawn all the time, and whenever I pull the eggs they will hatch but never survive. Out of hundreds of eggs I've only had about 19 survive and live to adult. Same breeder box as you, 0/0/20 for my parameters, and I hatch BBS. I'll see some dead with a bright orange belly, so I know they're eating.
@BishopAquatics
@BishopAquatics Год назад
Odd, once ours hatch, we hardly ever lose any. Have not had any of the sterbai lay eggs yet :(

This was so satisfying to watch with your excellent information you shared. BRAVO! And congratulations! Is there more follow up of the vabies and what you did with them? Do more, if you will? And you kept it simple. I adore Corys and mine populate but like you,I want more eggs hatched. I hesitate to push them, fearing what I think I do not know, but you have nudged me forward. Thank you! A rainy snowy 2 days, then 3 days from now a rainy day and I hope to be prepared. Sidenote: i do not expect you to answer the questions in this 'fish tale'. i assume the yarn must be a certain weight? because I tried with a less coarse 'soft' yarn, once. Does it need to be a certain color? Mine was a pretty lavendar 🙄 and I went to clean the tank one day, and it was GONE! VANISHED all but the knot I had tied. 🙀🤣 I wonder if it disintegrated or the shrimp, and mystery snails ate it? Guppy, panda corys,2 mystery snails, a few rili shrimp in tank. When cleaning the bottom in the water change, the mess on the bottom was a touch 'fluffier' than normal; floating an inth above the sand. Too funny! Thank you again. Your flora and fauna and tanks and critters are lovely! Perhaps more Cory updates? ✌🏼🙏🏼🖖🏼🥰🐠

I have 6 albino Cory's & I feed mine tubifex worms & freeze dried blood worms with some crushed freeze dried shrimp & tropical flakes mixed together every day & they love it so much their like breeding machines none stop, like every week I see eggs all over the tank, is this normal ? I haven't saved the eggs but maybe I should for as many times they have them, I have a 10 gal tank I can put them in.
@BishopAquatics
@BishopAquatics Год назад
That frequently seems a little abnormal, in a good way. Great food regimen. Definitely move the eggs if you want to hatch some!

@@BishopAquatics I'm working on setting up a 10 gal aquarium where I can put them I just got the filter for it today to hook up.

When you set up the breeder box, was it on the original tank? I seem to loose my eggs but so far I’ve always moved the box to a different tank. I was wondering if the changes in the water are making my eggs die off.
@BishopAquatics
@BishopAquatics Год назад
We have done both successfully. Unless the conditions are extremely different they should be okay. When the eggs hatch the fry are incredibly small, near invisible.

It’s juli-eye not jullee. And those look like trilinieatus based on the maze pattern on the head and the tree lines in the body.

I just got some Julli's from my local fish store. Any way to tell their age and sex? I know females are bigger but they all seem to be similar in size. Thank you.
@BishopAquatics
@BishopAquatics 2 года назад
Size is our go-to, there may be other ways, im not exactly sure. Age is tough as well, as they will stay smaller depending on their diet.

Size will be very clear after a few months. If after that they are all same, you prob have all male or female :) My juli mamas are honestly about twice the overall size of my males

Ok I don't understand this for example I am at minute mark 14:45, in this segment you're talking about those corys eating their eggs for a second time, but both times you mentioned it you knew they laid the eggs, but both times you seem to have just snubbed them off.. If you really wanted them wouldn't you make more of an effort to collect. Don't know if that is what you intended or not but that is how it came across to me, and in no way will it impact me watching videos and commenting. Have a good day

pretty much yes, off camera it would be more frantic, especially if we really needed more. Hard to scramble while trying to film haha.

Corydoras trilineatus. Not corydoras julii. Quick google will clearly show the difference.
