One of the best things we did was take $20 out of each weekly grocery budget...this $20 was used to stock up on items that are on sale/items we know we use anyway. We started a 'working' pantry where we rotate the items to unsure nothing gets wasted. During tight months...so grateful to be able to 'grocery shop' out of the pantry first!

Jordan, I come back to this video even years later! With your advice and hard work, I’ve gotten to a place where my expenses only take up 47% of my income from 80%! I’ve attributed this to cutting costs, a little sacrifice, and asking for what I deserved given my efforts at work! Thank you so much!

@JulyJaid117

@@Savannah-ed4rvi just wanted to comment to you that there will always be inflation. Sometimes its obvious, other times it seems in control (even when its not). Those more obvious times are easier to spot if you know your prices like the back of your hand. I am able to notice them more because i do grocery shopping online. I notice price drops and increases easily and adjust the list to my budget. I dont adjust my budget to my list. Idk if i was helpful but i wanted you to know that whether you are struggling or not that inflation doesnt have to break the bank. It just needs tweaking. Jordan is the best person to watch and follow for tips and i always revisit videos for refreshers or even a fresh perspective

My dad lived on 50%. I always strove for that, but never quite made it. I got to about 60%. I read years ago that centenarians generally saved 25% of income for retirement. That's how they could afford to live so long. I tried getting there, but couldn't get there. I got to 22%. I've always been very frugal. It makes me happy! 😊 I love saving. I do spend when necessary, and I buy quality when necessary, but then those objects can last decades. Love to hear you fighting the good fight! You go, girl! ❤ I focus on no spend days.

@WiggleIsWiggly

Good for you! 😃 I wish I was more sensible with my money when I was a teenager. I didn't earn much but I also didn't appreciate that what I earned was disposable income that I could spend on makeup and clothes and going to see movies with friends etc. I always saved but I wish I saved a lot more, it would have helped me so much! Now I'm 24 and all the makeup and clothes that I spent my money on are not even in my possession anymore. It's so important to think properly about what your money is going on. Stuff is not important, experiences with family and friends and saving is top priority by far!

I swear she'd say why ? when can go bank !!" I think it's common with youth who are used to everything best andfkash and bragged and shown on social media, every part of their lives are chaotic and is fast paced, instantaneous even for answers to Q with Google for eg and over sharing isn't just Rife, it is just the life they've lived with no alternative and know no different, its hard though esp for parents tryi ng best to live up to a life they wanted for their childhood and thus , their children get so much, its almost expected and truly becomes issue for many many families who try and instil values , respect and self worth abs high regard for themselves , alongside support love and encouragement from all family friends loved ones around them, voicing praise upon children for their core values, good heart,trust worthy , funny perhaps smart at this or excel in sport, just to lift that focus a little, from what is a heavily pressured life merely by existence, the social media thing will exacerbate many of those niggles with insecurity as it is, its best the negativity is minimal, as it MAY be social media bring out a more extroverted in ways, or build a drive for success so much so it gives focus and a taste for that lifestyle comes with rich successful business minds, it MAY well be what really drives them to excel, I say MAY as it is few and far between of those individuals , and many many of us are sooked in , and overwhelmingly so, that its unhealthy and many of us adults need to have a little reset and evaluate on importance of living life for that very moment,there and then, as appose to losing so much time gone,never to return, and its hard to catch urself in the moment it usually Is only upon reflection we can see that, sorry to ramble though ur comment was honest and did What few of us family have managed, in getting through to a 17 year old,so clearly and effectively. cannot say enough! so A simple Thanks really had to be sent your way for being so honest! x

I’m 20 years old and my only responsibility is my car payment, insurance, and gas but I took A LOT away from this video! It has definitely helped me evaluate how I’m spending money now. It will also help in the future when I am married and do have children and allow me to set up for success from the beginning. Thank you Jordan!!!

I have implemented this plan (I’ve tweaked it to suit) this month and I can’t get enough of how great it is. For the first time I have savings that I HAVE NOT dipped in to! Thank you so much for sharing this with everyone. I’m from the UK and our school system doesn’t teach us anything about finances or how to manage anything money related. I’ve always thought this is one of the most important topics that everyone SHOULD be taught 100% as it’s something we all need. I’ve never been able to manage my money and I’m now 27. I’ve started with no savings at all but now I have a little and I will continue to build successfully because of this video. I can’t thank you enough.

Jordan, We have been using your budgeting method since August and it has help us so much!!!! We have paid off a ton of debt! We have a lot less stress when it comes to money because my husband and I are now working together and have and plan. I'm also much more thoughtful when it comes to money, thinking about how I'm spending every dollar and utilizing the things we already have at home. Thank you so much! If all goes as planned we will be debt free by October. Your ideas and motivation have truly been a blessing to our family!

I was a “monthly grocery budgeter” and always found myself running out of money by the 3rd week into the month. I couldn’t trust myself with that lump sum of money in my hands. I’d find a cute shirt or something “non-food” for $10...eh no biggie it’s only $10. We’ll... those little incidentals racked up quickly! I am so thankful that I discovered your super simple weekly envelope method several months ago! BEST.ADVICE.EVER! 💕

I'm so glad I discovered this video. I am a perfectionist by nature and tend to complicate everything by wanting it to be perfect and then I get overwhelmed! This takes so much pressure off. Our family is facing FD (Financial Disaster) with a second cancer diagnosis and I tend to overspend when I'm stressed or depressed which adds to more stress and depression. You have given me hope and encouragement that we can survive this and one day, we will thrive. Teach me everything you know, Oh Great One! Jordan I have been watching your channel for a year. Get all hyped up to start your methods. And then crash or coast right back in to my old ways. I'm a married mom of 4. 11, 5, 4, and 1.My husband is a stay at home dad, and home schools our 3 oldest children. My 4 year old is going through evaluations for Autism. I work full time for a wonderful company and my dream job is just at arms reach. I needed some more skills so I committed to going back to school to earn a degree in Business Management. I also have a small business in balloon decorating and event planning (which due to school will be scaling down and picking and choosing events that fit my schedule). My life is insane and I feel I'm bursting at the seams to keep up. I thought I would go back to your videos on block schedule to see if I can be inspired again. And I was. Thank you. So from one video to another we have been wanting to move in to buying a house, but because of our poor financial decisions. I'm starting again from the ground up paying off debt, and building our credit. It's like following bread crumbs to get to the dream. You always get me pump to try again. But with so much invested this time, I feel I will be successful. My kids deserve a beautiful home and a yard to fun around in, and a home to entertain our family and friends. I see it all happening, when I close my eyes. Thank you for putting this content out there. One tip I have adopted was the laundry. Heaven sent. Again thank you, thank you, thank you.

Love this rule ever!! I wish I knew it 10years ago when we got married. Otherwise my husband’s student loan would be gone in two years when we had an awesome paycheck back in living in Hong Kong. Not complaining moving back to UT with less pay, best decision ever to have my husband home instead of working 16 hours a day in Hong Kong.

This is so important! If you want to succeed, you need to create a budget. Without a budget, you lack focus and direction. Budgets not only allow you to take control of your financial direction; it also provides you a benchmark for determining whether you are actually succeeding.

Here in Italy things are a little bit different like taxes, bills, insurances...even the grocery shopping. But my husband and I are going to try.
