thank you so much for All your tutorials. I've already done the joomla one and now this one abour Wordpress. I'n always witing for your blog, your details and your clarity speaking is super and offers me all I need to improve in webdesign CMS, thank you so much. Ana ( sorry for my english, i'm french)
I went through your first steps, purchased my domain and successfully loaded WP, however my website still cannot be found. I know on your tutorial you said it could take up to 2 hours... it has been 8. What do I do?
Try having 10 domains and 10 different WordPress installations on your server and get a little traffic to at least one of them and see if things are really unlimited . . .
Having followed each and every step i hace created my first blog, but i wanted to know how i would remove the coments section on my post and the date as well as the author in every post so that it doesnt appear
I'm stuck....I love your tutorials and used them to set up my blog a couple days ago. I did my first post but when I view the post there is no where for a reader to leave a comment. I went and made sure all the comment buttons were turned on and still nothing.
Thanks for the tutorial. I had a little trouble getting the contact me email to route to my inbox. When using virtue template, the email setting is under theme options, misc settings, contact form email.
ahhh... Wordpress just recently changed their look and layout. The one thing I wanted to get from this is how to add pages and I can't find how to do that with the new look!
Nice video thank you very much :) I would like to use my blog page also with some gallery or portfolio..is there any plugin you recommended? or have some other tips for me? thanks for respond
Hello Mike I am a bit confused. Is not basic wordpress blog completely free? Whats the difference between the free version and this hostgator server version? Your video is awesome!!! Thank You
How do you blog on the other pages for instance. If you have a menu bar with drop down menus and you want to post on each one different things rather than just have static information how is this done?
How did you get your blogs to only show a portion of it instead of the entire post? You created your first blog then your second blog without showing the entire text on the home page. My home page blog shows the entire text on all my blogs. Thanks!
this video is so great!! I really helped me out, but i have one small issue. I wanted to add some categories to my website, so I did exactly the same as you did. I added 3 to it but only one of them is working. Do you know what I did wrong. I really hope you can give me a answer. Btw, sorry for my english, its not my first language :)
how long do I have to wait till the wordpress site is live? I followed all the steps but when I go to my new site it tells me "webpage is not available". Do I need to wait for the second email from host gator will all my account information. I got one email that has my billing information. Thank you.
helpful... but... Wordpress has clearly updated their site. The recommended Theme is no longer available, nor are Plug Ins. Good information if you're willing to click around the site and experiment. Would love to see this updated with the new site specifics.
Hi Michael!!! I am following your tutorial and I did everything but once I did QuickInstall mine went to 99% loaded and stop it will not load my site.....please help
Great tutorial but I got to the WordPress continue button and it returned this message followed by a long list. Any fix you can recommend appreciated! Error: The following files already exist: /home3/kurtmuel/public_html/index.php /home3/kurtmuel/public_html/license.txt
This video was so helpful! I have a question I'm hoping someone can help me with, when you install WordPress from Hostgator ( via QuickInstall) is it WordPress.com or WordPress.org? I am under the impression WordPress.org is 'self hosted' so I'm assuming that's the version you would use? Thanks!
Hello Morgan Taylor! my website is not hosted on hostgator but my wordpress is by wordpress.org I believe wordpress.com is a webhost where you can buy a domain for your blog and have your blog there they have some benefits. wordpress.org is the downlodable version for people with websites thats the one you should use since you have the website with hostgator. Hope I answered your question
Watched 5 minutes and I already have questions... It may well be because English is not my first language, but if „free” means no money, why do I have to pay 94 dollars a year, and number two: is it worth my time to watch the remaining 42 minutes if some of the features you talk about are only possible if I pay the 94 dollars?
wow, I am sure this is a great video... But, you said it was free and i'm a little confused on how you can say that honestly. The FIRST two steps of your video COST money annually or monthly. That is NOT free. I also, see a lot of people in your comments who are having issues with their pages not being found and you aren't even answering them back. I will not be finishing this video no matter how good it is.
Sabel Sisney u can do it for free too... but you wont have your own domain... if you are building something for your personal you need to have the step 1 step 2 if you want to train yourself use the free domains but those have the lets say Sabelsisney.wordpress.com you don't want a domain like that... thats why you need a personal domain and hosting.... i have seen alot of blogs who are top ranked and have a domain name with the wordpress behind it but the thing is if it becomes successful you wont be able to sell it cause domain is owned by wordpress... what he mentioned is how to build for free a blog... if you are going to pay to build a blog some people charge you 1000 dollars - 1500 just for that.... so he showed you how you can do it alone simple... for free
