Ive always had a passion for doing hair, but My fear what people think of me has caused me not to follow my dreams. Now I’m starting to put myself out there and finally do it. These tips are so amazing and such a boost for me to start my journey. Thank you!☺️
Love that! I have to remind myself daily that I am not the fear I feel. I know God has a plan (Romans 8:28) and I’m learning how to truly enjoy the ride.
Building clientele is so hard, I just started a month ago and I’m slowly but surely getting there. We all got to start somewhere cause it’s better than being nowhere!
Not booked yet, but I have seen an increase of 2-6 clients per week and only a handful of loyal ones so far but I’m still hourly and only work 20 hrs per week.

I will be graduating cosmology school Jan 3 2024 and I'm so excited to get myself out there. I'm nervous most about meeting and getting new clients. Of course I want them and to help them with their confidence, but talking and actually getting them to come in make me nervous lol if that make sense. Thank you for this video.
As a new stylist in the hair industry. I been comparing myself to others, doubting myself, etc. i been thinking about launching a website with hair growth oil and edge control. Your video has helped me stay organize and focused. By sticking to these 5 tips you offered. 😊
Hey J.Nicole, I really appreciate this video. I was so down because I lost my job, but the job isn't what I want to do. I'm sooo tired of working for other folks and having no me time or time for my kids. I have less than 100 hours left in cosmetologist school. Sometimes I get discouraged because there's that little voice that say, " who the hell are you",nobody will support you or there are already enough hair stylist out there, so I'll shut down. I have 2 business that I'm sitting on outside of doing hair. Just don't know where to start. but I will sub you because your natural and I love how you encourage.
Please don’t stop. Girl speak over both businesses and your goals!! You’ll see the results, you just have to put in the hours and stay consistent. Even if it’s one post or thing per day, do it!! I’m glad this could encourage you ❤️❤️ I’m wishing you luck and sending you good energy ✨✨ 100 hours will fly by!!!
Jeanetta I felt the same way. But I had to start back from the beginning and give myself the permission to JUST START. Even while having a fulltime job and paying my own rent and bills. I still had to make it happen. It's a day by day process.
Watching this made me feel like I was listening to an actually friend. I love how you explained everything! Literally built my confidence by watching this!!! I’ve been doing hair for about 5 years and I’m finally breaking out my shell trying to reach more clientele. Thank you soo much ma’am ❤️✨‼️
Thank you ♥️ I get side tracked and discouraged because I’m not where I want to be but I’m pushing HARD this time I really want this I’ve been touching hair since 8 I can feel it I can taste it I love hair it’s a lifestyle but I just get so discouraged and quit then start again but this time I’m ready
Im so happy this helped ☺️ and was some encouragement for you! Whatever you do, don’t stop. Everyday is a day closer to seeing all your hard work pay off and living in the exact moment you’ve prayed for 🤎
I’m not even done watching but girl I just wanna thank you for motivating me in particular I’ve been braiding for a few years now and I’m pretty sure I have great service to offer but I was struggling on how to go about it! And you just sums up everything for me. Guys social media is so powerful thanks 😊
So glad I found your channel fear is eating me up right now because I allow negative people to say what they wanted about my work. I do hair really good but it's just only a few that see that. Seeing this will help me boost my confidence. Thank you❤️❤️
I do see you even tho im seeing this three years later it helped out a lot. im helping my girl start up her business and your tips are very very helpful because ppl ofter worry when starting and back out so thank you J Nicole
Agreed! I just posted a status and got over 20 responses, so I now have 10+ models to do whatever service I want to!! I love what I do and want to perfect a few things, so money isn’t really the objective. It works for some 🤷🏾♀️ and it has worked for me!

I’m really just getting into I’m almost a year in of getting started in my own. I just got a new home so I can have my own studio. This gives me hope because honestly I get discouraged but doing hair is something I love I don’t want to give up on it
Thank you for this video. Your video came very timely . As I just found a salon that Ii can be part of that I was encouraged to rent a chair . I’ve gotten so discouraged by following my dream with is being a stylist . So your video is perfect . Thank you
I really enjoyed your energy and the information that you shared. You are the first stylist/entrepreneur that has talked about the whole person, not just how to make money. WOW!! Thank you!! I’m just beginning my braid business and I’m always looking for encouragement. This one, YOURS, I will watch again, just for grounding.
Omg thank you, I am so happy this resonated with you!!! That is my only hope, I’ll definitely be doing more ‘helpful’ & hopefully insightful videos for people who may need it. I was there at a point, still need insight lol!! Thank you! 🤎 I’m wishing you so much success & sending you so much good energy. Stay consistent & intentional, everything will work out according to plan ☺️🙏🏾

I’m so happy I found your video! Super insightful! I’m not much of a social media person when it comes to posting but after watching your video, I have a better understand of how helpful it can be for a business.
Thankyou so much for making this video ❤❤❤ I’m a cosmetologist as well and lately I’ve been struggling keeping a steady clientele. I’m going to apply these tips
Girl this video has been BEYOND HELPFUL. I start cosmetology school in August and you better believe I'm documenting the entire thing on Instagram and RU-vid since you gave that tip. I'm about to live in student housing too so the idea about doing something free once a month made a lightbulb go off in my head because NO ONE on campus is doing that? The only styles I can do without a license in California are ponytails and half up half down quickweaves so while I'm in school I'll be the ponytail girl, but once I graduate from Paul Mitchell?! IM BUSTING THE DOOR OPEN! Lol Do you mentor by the way?
Sorry that may have been confusing. I'll be living at a 4 year university's student living campus, but will be going to Paul Mitchell sow while I'm in cosmo school I want to target college students since they always want to look good. $75 or $80 styled ponytail with hair included? I think that'll be good.
I don’t offer mentoring just yet, I have so much in store for comments like this!! I want to be able to work directly with each of y’all just looking for a little guidance and help. I’m gonna keep you updated! I’ll start with a Facebook group.
I'm a new sub after this post. But I'm brand spanking new to hair braiding. I do have a slow voice and mental health issue. I got my license. Just practicing now but thanks for the tips.
Currently in hair school always dreamed of being a stylist but I’m so scared 😭 I don’t have the confidence I need and it sucks. I just watch everybody else flourish while I’m too scared to come out the shadows
Loved this video you are such a vibe and seem like a beautiful soul! Thank you for the tips this is the first time I came across your page but I feel inspired ✨
Great video! VERY useful info. I came by mistake but im subscribing bc of your delivery and honesty in the video without the fluff. Thank you SIs! Congratulations and many blessings to u and your businesses!
Thank you so much! I been doing hair for some months now and my clientele hasn't really gotten anywhere. This helped me realize what I need to do in order to get my clientele where I want it.
Can you do a video of how you edit/ clean up your client hairstyle pictures. For some reason it never looks as clean in the picture as it does in person
Thank you so much. This video made me go and make a post about my business. It also help me to build the confident in myself and my business. Thank you again. I also started following you.
Thanks for watching! 🥰 Listen, keep promoting until you find the ones willing to let you try things out. Show pictures of what you’ve done, be professional, know what your goal is and communicate that. If it’s something you want to start offering but have never done, show what you can do and just be honest that you want to build a solid + credible clientele specializing in ‘xyz’. Don’t charge anything but let them know personally tips are appreciated.
Yes, that’s definitely an option. Most office buildings tend to not have water hook up at all so that’s something to think about. If you require clients to come washed, that shouldn’t be a problem.
