wow what customer service you answer all questions so fast - thanks again it will be worth it to perform task correctly after spent so much time on model
Thanks a lot buddy! And when in doubt it's best to paint a styrene sheet and try the effect on it, better safe than sorry + you will get some experience in the process.
Right on Tim, the metallic powder will go very well with any Warhammer project, a Leman Russ or any walker vehicle will benefit greatly! All the best, Chris
@@jeffallen3382 Hi Jeff, it will sure work, you just need to verify the shade on the particular aircraft, I've seen them lighter and darker, and this product yields dark shade.
have one other question - I am not big fan of varnishes as I spend many hours getting spectacular results modulating colors with oil paints before I weather - that being said all oils are painted with very little thinner on flat acrylic base results much better and quicker then per (similar to Mike Rinaldi style - although not worthy to mention his name with my work-ha ha) it will set for at least a week before I start weathering with standard binders and thinners, thus is it really necessary to varnish prior to using VMS pigments and binders? I will if must as I would not want to ruin paint job I spent so much time on but varnishes seems to get rid of all the different textures I build up
Hello, It's not necessary, we advise that as a precaution with newbie modellers in mind as they often apply effects of raw paint coats and have difficulty modifying/removing them later. Varnish is not necessary if one knows what they are doing. :) Another thing we will be releasing oil media (drying accelerators and finish modulators) this year, stay tuned!
Hi, I suppose you may try but as alkyd dries much slower you would have to burnish with cotton bud the next day instead of right away. Worth a try just a bit of technique adjustment required. Chris
Hi John, Good question. This method works fine on acrylic base coats such as Tamiya, Valejo, Model Master etc. Paint will be unaffected by the binders and auxiliary products that we are using in the video. Best regards, and happy modelling, Chris
Consider how long the tank has been in use sice it was produced and how long the crew has used it since it arrived to them from the depot. With a year and a half worth of wear and tear on a tank that was made three months earlier you open upp for critics. First do the math and then weather accordingly.
I concur Jan, many models are over weathered nowadays, here we do a lot of weathering to better visualise and explain the technique rather than to be accurate, please the forgive the excess. Best regards, Chris
This is a company video released by VMS not a paid promotion, I formulate and produce the products themselves and show how to use them. Thanks for watching! Chris
