In this how-to video, Justin shows you how to calibrate and level your Onewheel Pint or Onewheel Pint X using nRF Connect, a mobile app that allows you to interact with devices that use Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology.
Follow along as he demonstrates the steps for both iOS and Android smart phones, so you can get the most out of your Onewheel Pint or Onewheel Pint X riding experience!

Thanks dude. I'd already done it on my GT successfully, but was not 100% confident. Just got W's on my new (to me) XR and was worried about screwing it up but this video is idiot-proof. Big ups for doing it for both IOS and Android to make it crystal clear!

Do you still need to use the OW app if you are rewheeled and have the bluetooth handshake disabled? Also is this still recommended for WTF rails if you have custom shaping and can raise the nose in FloatRemote? Edit: I got it done using FloatRemote instead of the OW app all though a lot of the same buttons were not showing up for me at first. I got it to work eventually but I have no idea what made it work. To answer my own question calibrating your WTF rails to be level is absolutely necessary and a big improvement over using custom shaping to raise the nose. Raising the nose will work fine for going forward but riding in reverse or trying to balance still is extremely awkward.

Glad you got it figured out! To reiterate your findings, you do not need to use the Onewheel app if you have applied the ‘Remove BLE Handshake Check’ patch. And it’s absolutely recommended to calibrate your IMU (level) rather than rely on the custom shaping tilt settings as those will only impact forward riding orientation and not reverse.

my board doesnt flash green or red. it flashed yellow a few times and then repeats. Do you know anything about that ?

You likely have the newer firmware installed. If that is the case, Future Motion purposefully blocked the compatibility of apps/tools like this. Per the description of this video: “Note: This process is not compatible with firmware version Gemini - 5092 or above.”

Just got WTFs and went through downloading nrf connect etc before realizing my firmware is too new! Do you have a way to update yet or blocked is blockex? Anyway to UNload a firmware update? I wouldnt know all tbis is above my education! TIA and is it really that bad to ride wtfs wirhout calibrating? I am way too green to add nosedive dirt eating risks!

Unfortunately, there's no legal way to downgrade the firmware as Future Motion's devices are protected under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). You may be able to get by with the 'Stance Profile' setting in the Onewheel app, but it's not quite as good as a true digital level solution; especially if you ever ride fakie (reverse direction).

It doesn't work anymore on my PINT with Gemini - 5050. Do you know why??? And your website page either, which I was using everytime I leveled my board, because I prefered it better than nRF Connect. Could you explain me why, please? My board now is a little bit down the nose and I can't level it anymore. Thanks!!

Thanks for the vid. I was able to calibrate my tilt no problem, but when I do the sensor calibration the wheel violently vibrates and goes back and forth. I need to shut the board off to make it stop. It rides fine after wards but I’ve tried it 4 times and it’s not working for me.

Looking into this I see that I have an issue. When I ride I get a clicking when going between forward and backward and I have since day one. Never thought anything of it. It’s really bad in Skyline, but I don’t ever ride in that mode. Just noticed it while testing it out now. I’m hoping it’s just a loose solder joint. I’ve seen some videos of bad sensors online and they are so bad you can’t even ride.

This does not work after the latest FM updates. The foot pad light just flashes yellow after trying to make a change with nRF. The alternative is to use washers to raise one side of the controller so it thinks the nose needs to be higher. Better yet, install a VESC controller.

If I leave at factory mode and power cycle, will the board be set at the default pushback/angle?

I got a question, while riding my pint, all of sudden it keeps showing red light and kept tilting back forcing me to stop riding. On the app it says “ ERROR 23 Incompatible Hardware Detected”

Do you happen to have any aftermarket parts installed? An extended range battery maybe? And is your board updated to the newer firmware (Gemini - 5100)?

Bonjour et merci pour vos vidéos. L éclairage avant de ma pint x ne marche pas bien. Une ou deux leds s allument ( blanche verte ou orange). Des fois je peux les éteindre des fois non. Elles s allument aussi alors qu elles devraient être éteinte. Mais je n'ai plus l éclairage normal. Est ce cela vous dit quelque chose ? Merci

How do I fix an error 22? That's exactly what my board does and I don't know how to fix it.

This is typically the best way to do that; unless your board has been updated to the new firmware. In that case, this process will not work as Future Motion blocked it as part of the newer updates. Any idea why you’re getting the error? Did you recently install something different?

So is this adjusting pushback at all or is there a tutorial on how to do that as well somewhere? Pushback on the Pint X is just horrid..

This technology (Bluetooth Low Energy/BLE) does not have the ability to adjust pushback as that is only possible via firmware modification (e.g. ReWheel). Unfortunately, ReWheel isn't regarded as being compatible with the Pint X, but you can consider using an OG Pint controller for potential pushback adjustment in your Pint X setup. If you decide to pursue firmware modification, do so at your own risk. It is not supported by the manufacturer and may void your warranty.

@@lookforthegood1 YA you can do the tilt calibration on the floor just holding the onewheel with one hand. at what you want the bord to think is level hah a...works great just did it on my pint x

Yes. You can adjust the tilt. Looks like you were able to get that done. Good job! You said the hall effect sensor calibration (causes the tire to spin) didn’t work? What are your hardware/firmware versions?

@@NateSail82 For the Pint X, unfortunately, no. There is no known way to level the board. Not without swapping your entire controller for an OG Pint controller.
