Pinch Bolt 2nd part of your video. Had same problem on MK7 Fiesta. Solution was to soak in penetrating oil then unscrew pinch bolt nut 1/2 way. Using an SDS drill on hammer without rotation and a masonry drill smaller than the nut thread the bolt shot out in 2 seconds. Had spent over 2 hours tring other methods previously. Hope this helps someone.

People have to start putting the correct torque specs and processes on these videos as its really dangerous not to. I love the fact these videos should encourage people to want to fix their own cars and not take them to the 90 percent of dodgy or corrupt mechanics. but seriously just saying tighten on critical suspension and drive train parts could end up with people loosing their lives.

Hello mate, good video. Do you have to put the dust shield back on as mine is rubbing on the brake disc and thinking of just taking it off and leaving it off

Not sure tbh mate probably not as it’s only a tiny bit of metal can’t imagine anyone would care

Cheers for the reply. I will have a go at taking it off as its scraping my brake disc. Hopefully the ball joint doesn't get ruined by the heat from the brakes but t h the track rod end is near the brakes aswell and that doesn't have a shield or anything

@@josephturrall2333 yeah that was the only reason I could see why they are necessary because over the time the heat would perish the boots

Can you just bend it back ?

not a good idea to leave the heat shield off. it does actually do a job of deflecting or dispersing heat. i am sure people would say they have run their cars for years without it. But think of it this way if that steering knuckle expands and snaps the pinch bolt while your missus and the kids are in the car.. well i know i could not live with myself if that happened to me..
