In this video, I'm showing you two easy tests/checks that everyone can do to make sure that the PCV systems of their cars are working properly. Videos/pictures of proper working PCV systems are compared with defective ones. Hope it would help.
This is the first video of a video series about PCV systems. Later videos would discuss what the PCV system is and why it's important. Also I will talk about the notorious PCV system on GM Ecotec engines and how to check and fix problems. Please stay turned.

Looks like my 2011 Ecotec with 127K miles is affected. Paper blows right off and can see white smoke being pushed out the dipstick hole. I think my backup PCV is working as there is milky residue on connector into airbiox. Guess I have to consider clearing the orifice in the intake. Thx

I cleaned my clogged pcv on the intake manifold. I now have suction at the oil dip stick and the paper holds. However now I have vacuum suction from the oil filler cap and vent hole on the valve cover . Any idea what is causing the suction at the oil cap hole?

I'm no mechanic but its my understanding that you want that suction at the fill cap. I've been researchingv the issue a lot the past few weeks after my 2015 equinox blew the rear main due to clogged pcv. Everything I've found says if you remove the fill cap, flip it and put it upside down on the hole, if your pcv is working it will stuck it against the hole. If it's clogged or otherwise not working, the positive pressure will blow the cap away from the hole. Again, I'm not a mechanic or expert by any means. Just what I've read through my research.

GM has a specific procedure for testing the PCV system. You need to test, when the engine is at full temp, at idle and 2k rpm.

I did the rifice cleaning and the paper still wont stick.
