I used to play scarab. But if I didn't score in the first minute people would lose their minds and think I'm throwing. Got 3000 wins on scarab now. But using mostly dominus atm
Me and my friends have this thing we call scarab luck it’s when we go on a losing streak and we switch to scarab and then we actually do well then we switch back to mains after
I do the same. It works cos you change your mindset to caring less about the result of the match. You have a but more fun and that helps you win more since you have a clearer and less tilted head
Wayton: The only difference is that I was able to be a lot more precise with my shots using the octane. Me: *proceeds to miss open net using the octane*
Merch wins 50/50 I use the big girl merch van im in love with the giant she my go to when I'm on Defensive Rotation ... I like dominus im new to it definitely can see why it makes so many of these list ... But my baby is the big girl merch lolol 50/50 she is good
*Me watching this video thinking, "Interesting, maybe I should switch my car," while knowing damn well I will never escape the familiarity of the Octane*
I use the triton mostly, which has the hitbox of the octane i found out today. It just always felt the best to play with vs when I used to use breakout and dominus more.
I just can't get over how dumb the Octane looks. It literally affects my mental to use that car because I can't stop looking at how strange it appears lol
to this, I recommend Takumi or Fennec since they literally just are the octane but without the stupid mental thing you and I both have. On top of that, the visual hitbox of the Takumi and Fennec is shorter than the Octane so you can just hit stuff you shouldn't and it is fun to mess with people
sammi ali if your talking to me I’ve been playing for 2 years. And if your talking to OP, I don’t think it matters if your “new to the game”, it is their opinion. There is literally no connection between thinking a car looks weird to a persons experience in a game. Does not matter if they may be new, I have always thought throughout the entirety of my 2 years playing this game that octane looks weird, from when I was “new” to now. Sorry for the rant
@@aidanharon8414 iv played the game for 3 years and the octane looks normal, but why arent people questioning cars like the scarab or the aftershock, these are cars that look wierd not the octane

I mean this no cap, I was in like a 10 lose streak I was bored and didn’t care so I used the scarab in ranked little did I know I went higher division than I did going down in division aka won near enough all my games.
I find the dominus(or however you spell it) to have a nice mixture between the octane and break out hit box. I find it much easier to redirect and shoot in dominus I think due to it being long and flat so it just feels like the hit box matches idk
@@shahnajtonny8983 funnily enough, i now hate the dominus hitbox, fennec/octane i all i can use now. But i still think the dominus has a place in high level.
Is there any other cars like the merc ? I love the merc and plan to main it but the battlebus doesn't feel right so any other cars that feel like that thing ?
I love Using Dominus because its just as good as octane when it comes to flip resets as far as the hitbox. The Dominus wins because its got a very strongly built frame with the gearbox exposing out from the car when its upside down.
I mean i use dominus because ive always felt better with it and ive always felt indifferent about octane. From bronze to gold i used the triton bc it looks cool. Dominus looking cool makes me feel that auto confidence. I also use masamune bc its the same hitbox and i get better powershots, it honestly just what i feel like using that day.
I use Venom because people never know what hit ‘em when I hit ‘em with the Venom. No but fr though I just use it cuz I think it looks cool and I think its open wheel design makes it way easier to recover and get your wheels on the ground. I’m basically a High Gold-Plat player.
the hybrid hitbox is the most underrated hitbox. while it is difficult to be gentle to the ball with it, it's low speed power is insane. stationary flicks to the moon, and tons of power at low speeds. you can barely touch the ball without it booping away from you. and it's tall and good for ground play. it's a 1v1 car to the max.
Tbh the scarab is just so good, the hit box really compliments the play of the game and also it’s just super all rounded with the hit box, just a super good car, however for me nothing beats the fortnite battle bus
I agree i use triton it have bad power shots but great flicks and in my opinion good dribbling but maybe its just me cuz i am playing the most with triton
I played Mantis for the longest time and still everything but flicking was better when I played Octane. So I've just been practicing that, low boost has less options but you usually want to keep the ball close on low boost anyway.
@@Shadow-nr4op I say fennec is better because of its shape and it has the octane hitbox and if you use the dominus it is wider and has a flat hit box both have their downsides
I do play other games but rocket league is very fun to play on Saturdays^^ I use breakout because it’s very smooth and great to use dragon tail strike in casual that I made of myself. The breakout has great designs and if you see a long dragon on my car in casual yes that’s me. But even so I am a monstercat fan as well. Love the dubstep or techno like beat. But breakout is good at flying kicks unfortunately I am still learning to do that move^^.
I watched this when was unranked and I chose the octane and over time this really helped me because of this video I was sure what to play with then I learned mechanics from other videos and then i got plat thank you for making me sure what I should pick.
But im confused, i thought that the cars share one of four hitboxes Like the fennec and octane have the same, but also roadhog, takumi and even scarab, atleast thats what the rl wiki says Does that mean they dont have the same hitbox like octane and have their own or do they have the same hitbox but just look different?
Yes and no different cars have different hitboxs some share a hitbox and some are their own hitbox and all the cars mentioned are different hitboxes except for octane and fennec share hitbox
I'm only a Plat 1 player (for now lol, your vids help alot so thank you) and in my own opinion I use the Vulcan because it just feels good to me and with the pinches (just like you said with the batmobile) i can use the wheels to help. the only downside to me is ground dribbling, not saying it isn't possible, but the forward slant makes it harder (to me anyway)
Hmm, I feel like this is the most biased form of research haha. It seems (from the vid) that the form had a limited number of options for the main choices, and Octane was first option on all questions? Secondly, most people use the Octane so naturally they will just say Octane is best for most categories because that's what they're used to. Some of the suggestions had logical answers, like I can understand higher hotboxes means easier to turn while dribbling or to bounce dribble. I feel like a better way to do it would be to get people of all skill levels, with an equal representation of all cars, to do a set of challenges and see which came out on top. Of course I understand this would be insanely hard to set up. I'm just going to stick with my X-Devil since I've used it from the start and I'll find it weird to switch now haha.
It's like how all cars irl are black, white, or silver. They're just the most common conservative choices for an expensive purchase. Doesn't mean they're actually better than red or blue.
Yeah I was going to say this "research" was extremely bias lol. I get that most people use those 5ish main cars, but I'm a champ 3 and only use the Centio V17. I have used the Octane for an entire season and I really didn't notice my play being any different. I've also mained the Takumi, the Animus GP and the Imperator DT5. As long as you know what hit box the car has it's really just a mater of "What hit box do you like the most?".
Sometimes seeing the contour of the car can help you visualize where you need the ball to dribble for example. I use the dominous hit box and I love the Lamborghini Countach, NexGen Nascar, lamborghini Hurrican.
I mean, 50/50s are kinda all about your car position when hitting the ball. If your car is angled to pinch the ball back towards their goal, itll happen. If you accidentally position wrong, or even hit ball at some random point in your flip, you dont have control over where YOU want it to go, which gives the opponent the advantage
Yo this is weird. My first car was the x-devil, then paladin and now i also use the octane. X-devil felt really easy to use in air so i learned basic air control with that. Paladin felt like it packs such a punch, and i always won any 50/50 with it
I use the Paladin because when I first started playing, it was the only car that looked good to me. Now I am stuck with the Paladin because it is the only car I am used to. UPDATE: I switched to the octane.
