Thanks for this, super handy as an overview. It did mislead me quite a bit though, because the way the thread is measured in the video is not quite right. Turns out all products state the BSP sizing, not the actual diameter size. So the 3/4" BSP is not the same as 3/4* diameter across, the video makes it sound as if those are the same. To fit the 3/4" BSP connector his tap in fact needs to measure 1" across. I spent quite a bit of time looking for connector which is 1" and couldn't find any, till I came across the clarification on waterirrigation website. There are conversions tables from actual to BSP sizing, worth checking over if you are unsure. Hope this would help someone else to save a bit of time :)
You have applied the PTFE tape in the wrong direction, when you screwed back on your fitting it will have just unwound the tape l. Your tap fitting is a right handed thread so you need to wrap it clockwise.
Wrong wrapping of the PTFE. always wrap in the same direction as the threads. ie: rightie tightie. you don't want the tape to try and unwind as you tighten the fitting . I've also always used a rule of 3. ie: 3 wraps. if you do 21 you risk splitting your fitting before you can even tighten it. Not sure why i even watched this but boredom will drive you to do strange things :).
