It doesn't take a master chef to make this marbled marvel taste good. It taste good on its own! We cooked ours for 60 seconds on each side for steak on the rare side, do 90 seconds for medium rare, but it all depends on how thick your steaks are.
We hope this video showed you how simple it is to cook Wagyu and helped you get over those nerves.
Let us know your Wagyu cooking tips in the comments below.

That wasn't a great cook at all. Didn't get a crust. Meat looks grey and dead. Rare in an a5 just does not taste great. Before you cook the steak, it's much, much harder than a normal steak. You need to cook it a little more to get the full flavour. I've had a5 before in Japan. Med rare was perfect. I'm cooking my own at home today. Hope it goes better than this.
@coolspot18
@coolspot18 6 месяцев назад
The meat is too rare for Wagyu; it's best to cook it to medium so the fat can render properly, otherwise, you're essentially eating raw fat. Well-done Wagyu probably tastes better than medium-rare since all the fat is rendered.

I would never recommend eating A5 wagyu rare, or even medium rare; unlike traditional cuts, the high marbling of A5 lends to medium, as it allows time for the fat to render properly. I have shown this to multiple people including medium rare purists and everyone conceded that it was better cooked than medium rare. That said, I will eat a leaner cut rare or medium rare.

I came here to learn and then you put pepper on it first thing like some kind or rookie. The salt and pepper on the steak won't let the meat touch the hot surface and you don't get a good crust? Want to know why you had all those grey spots and not brown spots with flavor....that is why. Pepper burns when cooked and no one...well at lease normal people don't like burned pepper. Strike one....so this is how NOT to cook a $100 steak....

Oh god, no!! You killed that beautiful piece of meat by over seasoning. No pepper is required. A little bit of salt only. This A5 Wagyu is unlike regular Prime steak you buy. It has so much flavor that all you need is about 45 seconds of searing on each side and then a sprinkle of kosher, flaky salt. No pepper please!

"WAGYU" is the name given to a specific breed of cattle raised in Japan on feed, in a climate and on land that is unique to that country. However, I feel that it is a big problem that there are many companies around the world that raise the same breed of cattle outside of Japan and sell it under the name "WAGYU". Just like the rule that only products made in the Champagne region of France can be called "champagne", it is important to protect food culture and recognize the correct name.

Maybe I should make a video on how to use grinders. The only thing I can think of is you want to be extra precise seasoning so you tilt to get less salt and pepper. But you will grind more by holding them upright. And if held upside down you get nothing at all!

As soon as I see someone suggest a smoking hot pan for Wagyu then using metal instruments on a Teflon pan I know this person doesn't have a clue. Don't cook Wagyu like this and don't use metal tools on Teflon pans. Cook Wagyu low and slow, the whole point is to not melt and burn all the fat out of it.
@YoitsDro
@YoitsDro Год назад
Do not cook low and slow wtf that’s the dumbest thing I’ve heard. All the fat is gonna melt away. It’s still a steak, you need to sear the outside and then cook till your desired internal temp. Should take less than 5 minutes depending on thickness and internal temp. Don’t cook it in a Teflon pan either, steel or cast iron.
