Like 26! Great classic recipe this Pete, thanks for showing us how it’s done, love the combinations of the flavours and textures here, smoked haddock is a beautiful thing! 😎👌🏻😋
Very interesting Pete. I like learning about new dishes like this. Thanks for the thorough tutorial and all the tips and tricks as well. Take care my friend . Like 16!
Thanks Reza. Yes it works with smoked white fish like cod, ling, pollock and haddock. It also works well with smoked oily fish like herring and mackerel.
Don't...Lift...The...Lid...The best advice I've ever had re your rice cooking method Pete!!! Sultanas? No thanks. Cheese, no need for it....I bet you're rather pleased with that it looks absolutely delicious it's been so long since I have had Kedgeree and I now want to have it again!!! Fantastic cooking as always mate 😋👍
Yay!! I learned ANOTHER new dish today......Kedgeree!! So interesting!! Ive also never tried smoked Haddock. It sure looked delicious though! Great job
@@LazyCookPete I think my dad ate everything in front of him I only ever saw him get upset once with food and that was because he got home late and my mum put his plate covered and over a pan of hot water but he was hungry and his food was too hot to eat 🤬
That looks wonderful Pete, also one of my favourites too. Unfortunately, here in Spain Haddock, smoked or not is impossible to find, so I smoke some Merluza (Hake) the nearest thing to Haddock. Such a shame these very tasty dishes seem to have fallen out of favour. No doubt your excellent video will prompt many to try it for the first time. Regards to you both.
Thanks Mr Paul. Hake is a great fish anyway, I even use smoked mackerel now and then. I used some of your sausage seasoning today in a meatloaf and it is excellent. I didn't make a video of it though. Sausages next!
Yes please and thank you, looks divine Pete. All that yummy smoked haddock, you know I don't know if I have ever seen smoked haddock here. I know it is not quite the same but I could use smoked herring if needed. Eggs always go so well with it too. Keep up these really awesome videos Pete, your doing great! Lots of love xxxxx
Thanks for the recipe! I had smoked haddock in last week as I found some in Morrisons on 3 for 2. I was looking for smoked haddock recipes but I didn't have flour in to make a cheese sauce, so I just had it with roast potatoes. I had all of these ingredients in though, so I could've made Kedgeree! Oh well, I'll make it next time 😁
@@LazyCookPete Hello! I'm just letting you know that my dad and I made this for my mum on mother's day. Both my parents loved it! Thank you again for the recipe 😁
Any kind of fish you like Carol, it doesn't even have to be smoked but it would be more authentic if it was. I have used smoked herring and smoked mackerel before.
I've always wanted to try making this dish, thanks for sharing, it looks delicious and not too fancy for my limited skills. 😊👍 I'm with you regarding cheese, I love it but not with everything!
Thank you Beruthiel45! I love cheese but it has no place on this dish, it would overpower the delicacy and give an unwelcome cloying texture. There are many good uses for cheese, but this is not one of them.
Now I'll have to study/practice up my cold smoking fish skills. DANG YOU PETE....... Now we'll "HAVE TO" Go Fishing!!! 😃😃😃 LOL TYFS, Nice cook Pete.....Stay Safe and Well Mark and Rosa
@@LazyCookPete Honestly, we Love smoked fish. Growing up in the Midwest, and spending lots of time at Grandparents cabin, there was NO lack of fishing, or lack of Gramps smoked fish. The best,,, better than candy. However, it's one thing I have never smoked myself. Now I have a reason to learn! 😋👍😋 Thanks my Friend.
