So I have a problem with all hair in blender that use the particles system. It makes it impossible to pose my rig with the hair as the lag becomes unbearable/unworkable with the hair attached. I have to delete the entire empty hair hairstyle and all the viewport fps come back that's with simplify and additional subdivs set to 0. I have got a good PC 4080ti 64GB ram etc.. So I'm unsure if you have any recommendations for improving the performance of blender when it comes to the hair. I haven't experienced lag like it anywhere else when using blender.
Hi, I don't think your problem has anything to do with Blender or the hair system. You have a pretty fast computer, especially my graphics card is significantly weaker (Nvidia GTX 1080TI), but I don't have any problems with that. Ok, sometimes the rendering takes a little longer, and the particle system is a bit sluggish with larger hair volumes, but basically everything works as it should.
I can't find principled hair BSDF in the shader section only a small node called hair BSDF with limited input settings. Did they remove it blender 4.2 ?
