How to Cut and Prepare Durian Fruit 

Its 3 A.M And I am watching a video on how to cut durian, then to call it "sexy" after you open it.

Hands down one of the best tasting fruits on earth. I'm so happy my parents fed me this as a kid because it made me have a soft spot for it. Plenty of people complain about its smell but I think it smells sweet. Probably one of the pros of having good parents feed this to be as a kid. Its very expensive for a good reason. Personally it's best served cold. You come home from a long day of work or school and have this for desert. Thanks for showing how to pry it open

Finally someone that really knows how to open a durian! You, are really GORGEOUS!!!😄😄😄 Most of the people I see on RU-vid, they open up a durian by slicing it with a really sharp knife. And they slice through everything including the flesh and the seed.😂

This is the worst durian ever. It looks hard and dried when it should be soft and creaming and full of flavor.

And no lady, it does not smell like cheese. I've smelled some stinky French cheeses in my time, this aint that. This smells like the explosive diarrhea aftermath of a dog fed prodigious amounts of chocolate right before it dies, then you ferment the excrement along with the dog corpse in a vat for a couple weeks, then mix in a bit of rhino ass hairs you burnt with a match, and then rehydrate with skunk jizz. Everyone tried to convince me it was delicious, but even pinching your nose when you open your mouth you won't be able to help but some of the odor going into your mouth and into your upper nostrils that way, and forcing a gag reflex unless you're comfortable with the acts witnessed on 2-girls 1-cup and have acclimatized your body.

Yummy, durian is a really nice fruit once you get over the smell, to me, it smell heavenly. The creamy texture of durian is like custard, and taste really nice, chilled or not.

I'm glad I read the comments before deciding that this would be a great fruit to get some time. The way the woman was describing it, she made it sound like it smelled amazing...but everyone else says that it's the worst smell you could possibly imagine and then some. Thanks for the heads up everyone, I'll scratch this fruit off of my list of things to try.

I eat Durian, and I am telling you folks out there, that Durian she is cutting up is not ripe, not at all. Those chunks should be more like pudding and not cuttable as you see her doing. When they're ripe you have handle those chunks very carefully, because they'll be soft and almost squishy.

Tasty Durian. Really, I like it. It has several states, from "hard" to creamy. When "hard" it tastes like cabbage and when it' getting creamy it turns into some pudding . Durian smells intensivly like cooked cabbage. Even cabbage stinks then, and Durian gets to an extense.

I work at a grocery stroke, we accidentally got sent a case of this, I got cut in my hands holding it, and one of my co workers thew it at another co worker and it gashed his leg pretty bad LOL. Was interesting learning what how to cut it, etc, everyone, including the owner/boss was confused on what the hell it was and how we eat it. Been sitting in a freezer for like 2 months, is it still good?

Durians do not want to be eaten, but people are like "hey! We can eat this!" Super sharp spikes all over it, an awful smell to deter us....yet they still get eaten. lol. What does it really taste like? I've heard onions, garbage, vanilla pudding, etc. but none of that explains why people like it.

It IS delicious. For those who find the smell a bit objectionable, maybe it's because they are getting it at less than the optimum ripeness. I love it fresh, but as the fruit is so large, I end up freezing most of it for later use in smoothies. Yummy! Unfortunately they are hard to find in the Midwest (USA) and even then, the price is abt $55 USD for a 10 kg fruit, which is the average size in the shops here I've found.
