I needed this. Uncertainty tends to put me in a bad spot mentally, but I’ve been trying hard to embrace uncertainty whenever possible

the first tip really flipped my perspective when you pointed out that when you put yourself into a situation of uncertainty, although there is the possibility that we dread of things going not our way, there is also the possibility of something really good happening. So really, uncertainty is the source of possibility and potential. And hope. I'm always what-iffing, so what if my what-if's were focused on what if it goes WELL?!!! And then as you also pointed out, what if it DOES go badly? But what if i can handle that too? And as you said, i very likely CAN.

I find it really good to practice remembering that there was a time in my life when I didn't have the things that I might lose now, including my family, health, money or intelligence.. or even my life as I know it today. If you face a challenging situation, ask yourself, am I really going to lose myself in it?... Like the core of my being, the essence of who I am? Status isn't what I am. I didn't have that as a baby. I also didn't have the awareness of a lot of things when I was very little - like money, relationships, family, friendship, nice clothes, comfortable living etc. - yet somehow I managed without any of those... So why would I be afraid of losing them? The truth is whatever happens, no matter how bad it is, all we really lose is things that we have attached ourselves to - which in most cases is just a very fake and superficial idea of who we are. We never lose ourselves. Like, even if I end up on the streets, without money, without anyone knowing who I am.. I'm still me. I can still take myself onwards from where I ended up and build a new life from the ground up. Nothing is really lost. When you start looking at it from this perspective, fear starts to go away. Whatever we can control, we will. Whatever we can't, we don't bother with. That, along with the remembrance that we're okay no matter what happens, can give us all the assurance and certainty that we need.

I noticed myself feeling anxious about uncertainty regarding what people think of me, will I get the next job, will my anxiety issues hinder my day to day life, what should I order on a menu, etc. No wonder I have been feeling anxious a lot. Treating myself well and allowing me to feel whatever comes up will help make life feel less daunting. And those what ifs can be seen as an actual question waiting for an answer.

My thoughts and notes on today’s RU-vid video: How to Deal with Uncertainty Without Getting Anxious. I think my anxiety with uncertainty has dropped greatly during this past year, however, that isn’t to say that it still doesn’t lurk around. I sometimes still have a little anxiety or thoughts about scenarios on what could happened while being in a public space like a store, but most of the time now, I don’t have any intrusive thoughts that bring on those uncomfortable feelings. Julia, I appreciate the tips you shared here so I can apply this and continue to try and live an intentional live. * Here are my notes: * Humans would rather experience pain than the uncertainty of whether or not they're going to experience pain. * Uncertainty is unavoidable. * Human brains dislike uncertainty because we don't know whether or not we are going to experience pain, disappointment or failure. * It is also more about our thoughts about pain, disappointments or failure. (What we make them mean) How to deal with this: 1. Create acceptance of the uncertainty. 2. Create space for those uncomfortable feelings. (The same physical sensations for anxiety also show up in excitement.) 3. Being able to trust that you will catch and not kick yourself if you fall. 4. Play it out: Rehearse the "What ifs" and answer those questions.

One other problem I have is whenever I try to find help there's always some reason that comes up then I get frustrated and give up.But the reason I'm asking for help is if I çontinue without getting help is it keeps getting worse and adding up on and on.I feel there's going to be a breaking point.Its been building up for 40+ plus years now.

Try to address what holds you back from receiving help. You do want to get help, but if you encounter obstacles on the way that's usually a sign that you're subconsciously struggling to receive help - for which there must be a reason. For example, you might almost instinctively or as a reflex dismiss certain possibilities that could help you out, because they seem too simple, or because you might have a belief that you're not good enough or worthy enough to receive it.

this is John and I don't want to live anymore.i felt hopeful watching.... listening to Julie sometimes but what I'm thinking about is real and it's ugly and dark.i destroyed my life .ally memories and experiences are pain.theres m losing hope completely.can I be cursed or something.i don't have money for a therapist and I really think it's to late and the damage is well done

Put yourself back in the driver's seat. The hope that help will somehow come from the outside is a very thin layered one and it's disempowering most times.. As is the hope that your old life can be salvaged and you can somehow live off of the ruins of it and find happiness. The past is gone.. but you have yourself right now and you can build something new based on the wisdom that life gave you through all those struggles and hardships you may have faced. Forget about old definitions of what a good life should look like.. the playing field is changed. And nobody on the outside can really define it for you, because it's based on your own unique experiences. Take those and take charge of your life.. No one should do that for you, as it would be a great disservice to you if they did. It's your life, not theirs. Try focusing on that. Also, curses imply that the past somehow has a hold on the present. If you cut your ties with the past and live fully in the Now moment, all curses are gone. In the end, you can do that, as the past is only an idea/memory in our heads - nothing more - while the present is the point of power and action. That power is yours right now. I wish you all the best!

You get to decide how you want to think of yourself in response to how your family thinks of you. You could have a conversation with your family of how they treat you and request to be treated differently. You could also visit your friends or relatives more often to not spend much time with family. And if appropriate, move out of your family.

I LIKE the black and white. I focus on what she has to say and teach. Colors may be distracting. Since she is a woman, people may make comments about the color of her shirt, the shade of lipstick and other judgmental opinions specifically directed to women and not to men.
