This was fantastic. I've owned my 1967 camaro since the summer of 1980, yet this is the first time I've been through the VIN and CAL tag information with any authoritative guild. Thank you so much. I really enjoyed the presentation.

Edgar, CRG denotes "Though it looks very similar to the first five digits of the VIN, the body style code on the Fisher Body cowl tag did not have the same meaning. Fisher Body didn't need the type of engine coded on the cowl tag, and so stamped the 3rd digit of the Fisher style code with a different meaning than the 3rd digit of the VIN." The third digit on the cowl tag denotes it as a (4) Standard Interior or (6) Deluxe Interior. Yours has a Standard interior so a 4 is correct. You should have used a cowl tag with all 5 groups so people know what it looks like.

Now on the 67 the 12x37 does not have to match by VIN numbers. In 67 the “x” was set to 4 for standard interior and 6 for custom interior. So if it was a 67 V6 model then the vin will read 12337 and the cowl tag will read 12437 if it had standard interior. The cowl tag doesn’t rep engine size

Anyone HELP.. I have a 67 RS Camaro and on the tag it has TR 741=Z C-2.... WHAT DOES THE C-2 MEAN? I know what the 741=z is but can't find anything on what C-2 stands for also what does 12A mean?I believe the month and day but I'm not sure which month or day/year. Thanks

The third digit on cowl tag was set to 4 on all 68-69 models and had no meaning wether a v6 or v8. You need to do your own research before believing someone that seems to know what there saying. The first five on cowl and vin do not have to match depending on model and trim options on vehicle

What is a VIN number? Are there more than one VIN on the car? Vehicle Identification Number Number? Right... I guess that's why CI cannot ship things properly and have the worst customer service in the industry.

Sadly from 2030 on all combustion cars, trucks and busses including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing petrol stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. They even plan to reduce the pump speed of public gas stations from 20 litre per minute to only 2 litre per minute to punish owners of combustion cars....from 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a completely new kind of crime here in Germany, called emissions and smoke crime. :-(((

Your are wrong. the 5 digit number on the cowl tag is NOT suppose to match the VIN. Most people get this wrong and you telling 16,000 people that is why so many people get wrong information. You need to do your homework before you telling uniformed people like yourself false facts. And that`s how it`s not done.

You are dealing with a person that actually says "VIN Number" What the hell is a VIN number? Are there more than one VIN on that car? Don't expect too much...
