Some tips about diagnosis and identification of problem on faulty ACM (Aftertreatment Control Module). Wires output test from faulty nox sensor A70b1 socket, ending with nox sensor unit inlet replacement and fault erase.

Good morning friend, I have a fault with OC970C07, it tells me that it is the NOX sensor before the catalyst, that sensor is located behind the steering wheel.

Hi Eduardo. First thing to do before touch anything is check how many times this fault ocurred, if happened only once just erase the fault code, check if the ACM control unit has any software programming available from headquarters, if yes make the programming online, and force a dpf regen, at the end of it you will have a report of a regen with or without issues from any scr component, and the vehicle can go back to work, if after this the same fault reappear 99% of the cases youll need a new sensor. Ingnore all of this if you are not using a xentry mercedes or bosh diagnostic machine. Just force a dpf regen, if it goes trough, scan for faults codes, if there are no faults give the vehicle back to the customer the problem has to come back again for change it. The merc trucks nox sensor are 2 called: inlet/ before/ bank1 this is the sensor reading the dirt exhaust part before the scr box straight after the exhaust manifold. This control unit has a black plug!! The sensor is screwed after the adblue injection. Some actros, arocs, antos fit at the back of the scr box and can be mistaken for the so called outlet/ after the catalyst/ bank 2, nox sensor, with the white plug. 4 pins plug nox sensors tests. Check batteries power with the ignition on. Plug off the sensor. Find a good earth from chassis, one of those pin has to give you 24v or exactly what was in the batteries, ( 0,5v tollerance) the other pin is the negative, the other 2 are high can with 2.65 V and low can with 2.3 V. Don't panic voltimetre will give you a different reading like 2.6 and 2.4 or 2.5 and 2.5 this can be ok, but what if this fault sill comes back also with a new sensor and those voltages are ok? Then you need to do a load thest. For can bus you will have also 60 Homs plugged off and 120 Homs plugged on, between those 2. You can find out if are the sockets / wires corroded, breaking. If voltage is bad the end of those wires goes to the ACM if those output are still not good, the acm is faulty. But remember this happens once in 10.000 scr failure. Aftermarket sens urban driving don't last over 1/2 years. Genuine 3/5 years, working hard everyday.

Hi Milanikovic. All new M-B trucks need control units upgrades. In this case is the ACM aftertreatment control modul. After scanning, from start- up there is the control unit programming option, pressing on it, wile you are online ( D5 from mercedes required ), the acm will get the latest upgrade and all those faults will be gone for good. A bit long to explain why. Any way better erase all faults codes, force a regen with graphic illustrate, you need to see all the readings in real time from the graph. It can last from 46 minutes to 1 hour, better be ready with a printer and print the graph every 10 minutes because with that mode the communication can be lost easily. Once started, the vehicle will complete the regen also without diagnostics plugged on. Scan for faults codes again, the only fault that you will have to erase at any regen is: the regen could not be performed because the regen lock button was pressed. That's normal because you have to activate regen lock button ( from steerig wheel/ dash/ or screen ) to force regen. Any other faults codes or anomalies on the graph need consideration. This fault also rarely comes when sensors readings on the scr are imbalanced, that's why a regen with all readings printed can be usefull, on older vehicles this fault comes also if dpf or catalyst are clogged from ad blue/ ash/ carbons/ oil deposits. Causing scr pressure imbalance, too high on inlet and low on the outlet. Need more info to give a diagnostic report, the acm update and regen with printout results is the first move, then you need to proof the failure of a component or no further action is required and give it back.

I’ve got error 900COB appear on my actros and saying exhaust fault ! I’ve changed both nox sensors and adblue filter but it’s eating adblue now whereas before it was quiet frugal

Hi mate got a communication error from the exhaust ecu. Got hi can and low can and earth all working, got all powers going to ecu, any ideas?

Check the feeds with the control unit plugged on, if there is a voltage drop on cans or feeds, that control units is faulty, for do that crimp some thing like needles on voltimetre terminals, remove the plastic covers from the plug, and stab the rubbers on the plug until you reach the metal so you can have a reading with the control unit/ sensor plugged on, if something is wrong with that the voltage will drop a couple of volts, remember the control unit voltage can drop also if is plugged to a faulty sensor, so you need to go by exclusion, this is how you find a electric problem without diagnostic, also if a scan from obd would save you some time, let me know if you didn't understand something

I have Setra bus from 2015. I want to make manual regen but it says the requirements are not met. I parked in neutral, parking brake on, 3 seconds button but still requirements are not met. Please help.

If dpf full warning is on dash it will not do it. Is your bus with dpf regeneration button on dash? Or you trying from instrument cluster? (Dashboard display). Sometimes doesn't start the regen because the Ash level is too low, otherwise will start automatically in neutral with Dashboard showing: warmup phase. For sure it will ask you when needed, and if you don't let it do it for few times it will cause a current fault on the acm not letting you regen unless forced with diagnostic. let me know ..

This fault code is nothing to worry about, is : a regeneration request to test the adblue quality was detected. Vehicle just need erase the faults codes and force regeneration, if in less than 3 months the same faults is back need a acm parameterization with a newer version from headquarters, for that only xentry diagnostic logged with an active d5 user can do it . But 99% of the times just force regen and erase faults that's all.. sorry for the late answer, I couldn't log into my youtube account those last few days

0C1101: THE EFFICIENCY OF COMPONENT SCR IS NOT SUFFICIENT. It minds after over 45 / 60 minutes regeneration, the nox values were not reached, before do anything I suggest check If there is any other scr components faults, if not need remove and change or clean manually the dpf, in the past I used to jet wash those, till the water goes through freely, in this case be ready for a big mess.. sometimes with this fault I found big mass of ad blue crystallised clogging the dpf. Let me know what happens, good luck

Mercedes service sheet for some trucks requires dpf change just after 6 engine oil change, that's a bit ridiculous, but I personally suggest to change it after 110000 km, it depends on how much urban drive it does, if you want to save money and the truck I'd not under warranty I would just wash it and for sure it will last at list another 50000 km without problems. Check in you area for sure there are places where they can professionally clean it for 200 / 300 euros saving around 1000 euros, giving you a warranty about time and mileage..

It can be too low ad blue pressure, or the circuit clogged, or the injector. I suggest to check first how many bars are generated from ad blue pump, 8,5 to 10,5 bar, the diagnostic should show the thresholds during test, after that there is the purging of ad blue system. During this you should get a graphic illustrated of all values of what's going on, and if anything goes wrong in values or components it will be flagged. After that still with diagnostic, there is the ad blue injection quantity test, which requires removing the injector and check how many millilitres fluid are consumed in that time. Needs a good investigation before make any conclusion or touch anything that will waste your time and money, start checking pressures, ad blue circuit and injector first, let me know if you stuck.

Конченые системы мерса. -30 он пол ночи не может согреться и прожигает катализатор, лежишь как на вибростоле. И приходится спать в ватниках, очень холодный.
