My car is regenerating quite frequently, I did these same tests with my OBDeleven and all was reading fine, I make sure the car gets a good run once a month, I use premium diesel and I use a DPF additive every 1000 miles, I make sure to keep driving if the car is in the middle of a regen so I’m doing all I can to avoid any issues with the DPF, what in your opinion would be causing the car to regen so often? Thanks
Hi, my jaguar xf had turbo failure. Oil leaked on dpf and exhaust system. Garage replaced new turbo and did full clean up. But now check engine light comes on after some time. Replaced egr filter. Again after some time check engine light came back on. I wonder is this because there’s still oil inside or dpf has a problem? What’s the best way to find out? Thanks
Yeah, its rare you find someone with specialist knowledge and who can articulate that knowledge in a way that is easy to understand and because he knows the system well, he can use workarounds when a scan tool isn't giving the information. The downside for Jimmy is that he's now overloaded by idiots phoning him for free information 🤷♂️
thank you for the explanation, as with most modern car systems there's more to diagnostics than plugging in a tool and firing a parts cannon at the customer. i am just a small single man business, one of my promise to the customer is if i misdiagnose a part then i will pay for that part. i do tend to stay away from dpf problems due to lack of knowledge and i can't afford to eat the price of a new wrongly diagnosed dpf
@@ORileysAutoshi mate Looking for an answer to my question please . Does the car save the dpf filter regeneration history ? Can this history be deleted in any way ? Let’s see you want to see how many regenerations a car has done in past 6 months ? Can this be checked and delete after ? Thank you
Australian mechanics are terrified of European cars, especially BMW. My wife has a 2008 x5, 2 local mechanics have had a go ($2000) still stall's when reaches operating temp. They recommend a 500 kilometer ride on a truck to nearest BMW dealer in Brisbane. I might have a shot at blowing out the DPF. Thanks for the video 👍🏼🇦🇺🌏
This is such a very well put together information my good friend 😀 I just bought my self a mk808bt. I had a problem with the dpf in my skoda all 3 lights flashing.....lukyley I have a mate who's a mechanic he helped me resolve problem. You are a valuable help to many 😀 I live in Norway and blimey! what thay charge here just say hello to them is absolute bunkers 😀 keep the good work and looking forward to seeing more vids from you....have a good one mate 😀👍
With regards to the differential pressure sensor. Is the reading the back pressure before the dpf or is the reading the pressure difference between the front and back. So say if the back pressure before the dpf was 50hpa and after the dpf 40hpa the differential pressure reading would be 10hpa?
You got it :) But generally the pressure after the DPF would be very low, as basically it's just atmospheric pressure. If not, then someone put a potato in your tailpipe...lol ;)
Great video! Any thoughts on a particulate sensor reading out of limits? Says dpf efficiency is low and needs to be replaced but all parameters on dpf look normal.
MY15 xc60 D5 118000 Miles (200kkm) I cleaned dpf in proffesional company and now on idle have 12 mbar ( 7mbar before ) When accelerating from trafic light up to 230mbar ( 80mbar before) Regeneration wos every 800miles now every 550mile. What I cane check to sort this out? Dpf cleaned to Look after not becouse wos blocked.
Great video! Much appreciated! 🙏🏼 What about a " particle emission filter upstream pressure" and a reading at "65535" mbar on idle? On rev 12mbar 👀😅.. a Peugeot boxer 2009 3.0hdi 142***km Faulty Sensor? Soot level on 3.86g/l 🙏🏼
YOU ARE TOP! I have the issue with my car 2013 BMW x5 35d, it is “engine malfunction” now, I run ISTA+ check, Exhaust gas pressure in idle speed is 705 mbar (Max 35mbar), speed in 2000 is ZERO! some wrong code come up, do you have any suggestion for me? Thanks much!
Also the ambient temperature sensor is the new one why they won't do a regenoration is that correct Mr O'Riley ? Got this secret tip from you last week so must have been a new find. Also do you know if anything else we don't know about is stopping it from doing a regeneration ?? or is the car ambient temperature sensor the only new one to the list of tips boss ?
Have a Vauxhall insignia 2011 2.0DTH, DPF has been professionally cleaned and installed back to the car. Did a DPF reset, but the soot level showed 70% right after reset. Is it OK?
I have the metal pipe feeding the dpf sensor blocked on a Transit, it's welded to the dpf itself, what can I do with it? Unable to poke a welding rod through the blockage
My soot mass is 395% and get no reading from pressure sensor, and cannot activate regen. Should I first replace the sensor and reset the dpf, to force the regen? Car W246 OM651. Very informative video. I didn't recall if you talked about no reading from pressure sensor...
Have a look at some videos he's put out... But I think you'll need to actually clean the dpf because forcing a regen after replacing a sensor could damage the filter from over heating due to failed regens in the past because the conditions were not met by the car for a while.
I took it on motorway drove in 3rd gear for 15 minutes dpf light went off thankfully but my car is still using a lot of fuel £30 diesel only gives me 80 or 90 miles 😲
It is brilliant watching the gentleman at work doing his own thing thank you❤️👀👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
