This doctor needs to be cloned and put into every medical school to re-educate doctors with correct information about health. He is brilliant, and a gem of a person to anyone with common sense about how to improve their health in a sustained way. I just love learning from his simple to understand videos.. I respect this man immensely. 👏👏👏
I know what you mean about the lightening bugs. Here in east Texas we used to have them by the thousands. Then...when my daughter was about 8 years old (she is 32 now) I showed her one. It was the first time I had seen them in many years. I have seen them in recent years but it is inconsistent. I thought maybe it was fire ants that made them disappear. If they to lay eggs in leaves I still wonder if that may also be a factor. Great garden video. You inspire me to do more growing in pots.
In my experience,B1 deficiency causes dizziness,B complex deficiency also causes, vitamin E ,D, magnesium, and lack of sleep causes, anemia , low blood pressure, and low blood sugar, and the neck vertebrea and spinal compression and stomach problems colon
I have vertigo since many years and i tried every vertigo tablets to reduce it but it's getting worst I have also tested Vitamin D3 and B12 deficiency please suggest how often should i take Vitamin D3 and K2.
I used to suffer vertigo years ago then did the haimleck manuver, which i thought helpt but then a decade later I've been diagnosed with malt lymphoma and mine is exactly where this video is showing(on the jaw)and it makes me wonder if there's any connection to the 2 symptoms
My wife had Vertigo a year ago. It was awful we thought it was worse maybe even a brain tumor as she would fall and couldn't stand up. They gave her medicine for vertigo and it only helped a tiny amount. So wife and I went on RU-vid and watched 5 minute video on the Epley Maneuver. Did that and a minute later she was fine. A year later not a single episode. I am also taking daily magnesium with D3/K2 as well.
Bro I’m 21 I had vertigo around October/November of 2023 a lot of people think we’re joking but if you’ve never experienced it it’s an absolutely terrifying experience. Woke up, saw everything tilting LIKE unrealisticly tilting. Went back to sleep, woke up 2 hours later and nope I wasn’t dreaming I had to vomit2-4 different times and lowkey thought I was going to die. When I tried walking I had to hold on the wall or something. Was afraid of telling anyone else other than my mom since they would’ve thought it was a mild headache. I got vertigo because for some reason I kept turning my head sleeping positions at night (I’m dumb so that’s what I get) but the solution for me was to rest for the next few days while doing my best to sleep on the same sleeping position with my head facing the same direction which put the crystals back in my ear. I tried doing ear exercises but nah it didn’t help. Works for some works for others. Let me just say to anyone reading this who’s never had it it’s an extremely extremely scary thing to go through. Sleeping “fine” and waking up with everything around you tilting left to right , urge to vomit. Wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy
Went through a period of stomach issues, and suddenly developed vertigo. It would happen like clockwork every 6 weeks, very intense, but would only last about 2 minutes. I started on intermittent fasting and started eating sauerkraut and it was over, as easy as that. No vertigo in 3 years.
Dr Berg notes: Surgery, along with vertigo exercises, are sometimes suggested as treatment for vertigo, but this doesn’t address the root cause. Vertigo is typically caused by calcium crystals in the wrong part of the ear. These inner ear crystals interrupt communication between the hairs and nerves in the ear and the brain. This can drastically affect balance. It’s normal to have inner ear crystals, but if they’re in the wrong place, they can cause vertigo. In the first compartment of the inner ear, calcium crystals are situated on top of the otolithic membrane. Underneath are hairs connected to nerves that go to your brain. Calcium crystals add weight to this “gel” membrane to help you easily navigate the world around you. Most people have around 1000 calcium crystals per ear. These inner ear crystals are only problematic when they become dislodged and go deeper into the ear. This can be caused by head trauma, infections, certain medications, and aging. People with vertigo have higher calcium concentrations in the lymph, so they may have more trouble dissolving it. There’s a high association of people with osteoporosis and vertigo. People with osteoporosis have excess calcium in the soft tissues. Vitamin D may help with vertigo by helping your body remove excess calcium and putting it where it belongs. Consider taking between 10,000 and 20,000 IU of vitamin D3. Make sure to take it with vitamin K2 and magnesium. Magnesium naturally counters calcium buildup. Thank you Dr Berg! 😺👍
I have vertigo 24/7, one ear doesn't balance with the other, so, I've been taking vitamin D and Magnesium for a while now and neurologist tells me there's no cure for this?
Perhaps just listen and not watch. Honestly, it's the information that needs to be heard over any footage scene. So try closing your eyes. I don't have vertigo as far as I am aware but there are meditation videos on RU-vid that I refuse to look at the screen while they play because of the off putting visuals . I just close my eyes and listen.
Been battling this since I had COVID in late '22... been treated by both ENT and PT, and neither of them mentioned calcium or other supplemental treatments... "just come back when it happens again." There's zero patient awareness these days without doing one's own research and I find this incredibly alarming. Thank you for the info!
Hello, dear Doctor Berg, my name is Alisher, I am watching your videos from the country of Uzbekistan, I am 32 years old, I have been taking testosterone therapy since 25 years, the doctors diagnosed me with hormonal disorders and prescribed life-long hormone therapy for 8 years. thick insomnia tormented me in one of your videos you said an organic egg raises testosterone I started eating 4 pieces egg after 6 months I restored my hormones I feel great I am grateful to you for everything thank you from God I always asked for one thing which angel will come and save me it’s you I’m watching yours video in Russian you are a doctor from God
Dr. Berg, are you sneaking around in my apartment? Almost every video is an issue or topic I've been thinking of, and you upload a video of it- that day. Are you in the bushes, whats going on. Thank you for your information, truly
This is the best explanation I've ever seen, Dr Berg. Also ginger tea with fresh lemon is wonderful to help get rid of dizziness and nausea. Thanks for your helpful advice 🙏🏻
@@CJDane-rf1je sorry to know about that. Epley maneuver exercise is highly recommended when that happens and Dr Berg has several videos on vertigo that may be helpful. Take good care.
I believe he has said before that magnesium glycinate is what he recommends. That's what I take. That sounds super sassy lol. Didn't mean it to sound like that 😅 but yeah mag. Glycinate is what he's talked about in other vids
AFAIK, he recommend magnesium citrate because it will be absorbed very effective in your body. Magnesium citrate sticks, easy to consume and price is fine (here in Germany)
@@BlingyBeaglycinate is the one that is supposed to not cause GI issues. You're telling us it does? Just getting ready to purchase some, but don't want that
Since going Carnivore now almost 4 months, I do not have the vertigo anymore. Until your video appeared today (5/5/2024), I almost totally forgot that I even had the problem! The epley maneuver really does help though!
@@luciahelena47 I would say that because Carnivore (with near to zero carbs) decreases inflammation and relieves joint pain (for me), then yes. But that is the effect that it has for me and it may not be so with other people, but I have heard a lot of people getting these results also. 🤗
I took magnesium bisgyclinate together with D3 and K2, a complex of B vitamins from yeast, and I completely forgot about the vertigo. It's been 4 years since I had any problems with vertigo. But I take 10,000 IU D3 in the winter and 5,000 IU in the summer. Magnesium I take 400 mg daily.
I’ve had bppv for over 20 years. Usually a few episodes a year lasting a few weeks each, but when I hit menopause the episodes were almost daily. Horrible and debilitating, epley maneuvers sometimes worked , sometimes not. Last year after watching Dr. Berg, I started taking vitamin D and in a year, I’ve only had one very mild episode that only lasted a couple days. Why is this never suggested by ENTs? I have my life back! but wouldn’t it have been nice to have it back years ago! Please share with your friends and family, spread the word.
Dr. Berg there could you please plsce a warning on this video advising that if you are sensitive to vertigo please do not watch just listen. This video can cause one to get vertigo heady and nauseaus. Otherwise excellent information. Thank you.
Yeah whoever decided to do the visuals to make sick people sicker is a real freaking sadist And if anybody else creates content on vertigo hopefully they will be smart enough not to Make dizzying videos To go with it.
I had dizzy spells my entire life. I wouldn’t be able to get out of bed or even change positions of my head because it’d trigger the dizziness. I started taking vitamins, the same mentioned in the video and I haven’t had the issue in a long time.
Oh my gosh I watched your video on vertigo a while ago and I had vertigo all the time. It was so bad I would vomit. Do I take 50000 D3 and 500 mcg once a week. It had been a miracle for me. I can't remember when I had my last vertigo attack and I suffered for years every few weeks. So God bless and thank you Dr Berg
it this the vertigo where you turn you head or roll over in bed a certain way and your would starts spinning, and what is mcg and why just once a week, could smaller doses be taken daily to get the 50000 or no?
@@trishacomer3883 K2 500mcg. That one shot really helps get the deposits out of the soft tissue. It really has worked wonders for me I take it every Saturday and I had my levels checked and it came back good
You wouldn't believe it - less than two weeks ago, I got vertigo. Almost fell off the bed. Gave it a couple of days, was intermittent but didn't get better. Went to Doc after a few days, says it's prob caused by a molar infection I'm waiting to get sorted and the crystals, etc. He gives me a document for the exercises and a script for antibiotics in case it doesn't get better. Didn't fill it as I dont like AB. I always take K2 and Magnesium, but I started taking Vit D as I know it aids K2 and my tooth was hurting. 24 hours later no vertigo and no tooth pain. Days later, Dr Berg's video telling me to do just that. Crazy.
I'm 45 and ever since I was 26 I've had BPPV episodes every 2-3 years. I've gotten to the point where I can do the Epley moves myself in my bed. Sometimes I have to do them more than once, but eventually I can mellow the spins out enough to manage my day. I have to sleep with my head and body elevated for a week until things fully subside. Taking these vitamins and minerals will now be a permanent part of my supplement course. Thank you very much.
Curious if yours starts of with a sharp and severe "flash" of vertigo and subsides into milder symptoms (but are still annoying)? I've had them on/off for years where I'll be laying down or sitting at my desk and BAM all of the sudden, the room starts spinning and I literally have to put my arms out to steady myself to avoid falling out of my chair. That's NEVER embarrassing when it happens at work 😛 Just curious how it works for you. I've done several different kinds of PT to address it and they eventually work, but it's a bummer when it comes back again. Thanks for sharing your experience.
If it takes you a few tries, just try and hold each position for double the time. The fluid may be more viscous and the crystals don't move through the fluid fast enough
The "Emotional Eater" won't tell you to stay away from bread, pastries, cereals, sugar, etc. anymore, because it brings out the shame in them... 😮 Let's all try to avoid having to wear prescription reading glasses when we reach our 70's! Happy Sunday, everyone! 👊
It really helps to massage a few drops of castor oil behind, under and around the ears. You can also put a drop inside and sleep with a patch of soaked cotton wool over the ear. It helped me!
Thank you so much! I saw your other video and told my mom, she has been taking the vitamin D3 and k2 and feels great now! No doctors were able to help for months. Thank you so much!
As you enter menopause, women often get dizzy. It's because these crystals are not dissolving in the right way or are not staying in the right positions in the inner ear. This is due to the fluctuation and decrease of estrogen... Vestibular therapy often helps.... But it's always good to have a natural remedy before you have to go for the physical therapy
Retired hospital & nursing home LPN here: we had ONE neurologist in hospital who would insist on this as a possible treatment when the patient’s labs were good. KISS method, he often said Dr’s are ordering all kinds of expensive tests when the Epley Maneuver may solve the entire problem, & some people have it have it done as an annual routine.
I tried the manoeuvre with a specialist Vertigo physio but he said best to come to him with the Vertigo but it's so bad I'm on the floor and can't. I went after the episode unfortunately didn't work for me, what's the KISS!!!!
@@EJMG22 sorry it didn’t work for you, which means your medical condition was mote advanced. KISS= keep it simple stupid. The Doc I knew was disgusted the simple Epley Maneuver wasn’t tried 1st- if Labs were good. He thought too many $$$$ tests were prescribed right off the bat.
For me, had this once a few years back. I felt a high in the head pressure a few days before and then BAM. It went away after 3 days. Very bizarre, but that's my story.
Hello Dr. Berg, I would like to know about the topic of the inner ear, I have a problem with this, but the fact is that when I swallow and when the soft palate rises, I have a crunching or clicking sound in my ears, but I don’t know why this is happens . Perhaps I have a problem with the Eustachian tube? But I have no problems with hearing. please tell me what it is if you have time and tell me about it thank you very much, sincerely Nikita Frolov
I purchased a new riding mower, first time I used it I was going too fast and bouncing around in my back yard that has some rough places. That night I had an episode of vertigo really bad in the middle of the night.... sooo weird. Found the epley maneuver on you tube and it worked wonders. Did it every day for a week, not problems since.
I'm a huge sufferer of vertigo, every now and then I get dizzy, I'm 28 and I started doing excessive yoga a lot 3 years back, and I believe yoga triggered my vertigo. Whenever I bend my vertigo increases. I have stopped beding now. I will follow your advice.
Interesting! I’ve been living with bppv for the last 12 years, also labyrinthitis and vertigo. My otoconias in the left ear go crazy, specially at night if i turn my head to that side. Epley manouver helps a lot, but now i’ll start taking these vitamins and hopefully it’ll get better. Thank you Dr.
I had vertigo and couldn't get out of bed to visit the loo without falling against the walls. I followed the exercises on the video and in 3 days I was better and I have never had it again. It's been about a couple years now. Thank you Dr. Berg
Can I just say most of us watching this have dizzy or vertigo issues, so having spinning going on in the video was cruel and unnecessary. It made it very hard for me to watch. I can't believe this wasn't thought of and considered before putting that into the video.
Wow, wish I had this information in 2005. Suffered severely for almost 18 months ( then occasionally for years afterwards & about once a year now), went from doctor to doctor to specialist. Finally told about the calcium crystals, given exercises & that's it. Ridiculous to have suffered so long, when there is this simple remedy. Of course, now I have severe osteoporosis, my life could of been completely different ( for the last 19 years ), with this knowledge. Thank you so much for this information, now I feel like life can begin again.
I started developing severe vertigo 3 days ago, and I cannot begin to explain how debilitating it is. I can't do ANY of the activities that bring me JOY in life (weight lifting, mountain biking, etc.) If I look UP or to the RIGHT, at all, my stomach knots-up, BAD, and the entire world starts RAPIDLY SPINNING. I just did the "Epley Method" and, at the end of it, (the last 90 degree turn, with my body) I COULD FEEL/HEAR a slight disturbance in my ear fluid. I am PRAYING that I resolved the issue, but I don't want to mess with it again so soon.
@@ayberkeser4954 Yep. But, I couldn't do the method for 3-4 days because the vertigo was INSANELY intense. I had to give my brain/stomach 72-96 hours to adjust to it. Even after 3-4 days it was bad, but I could do it without passing-out or vomiting.
I've had bppv and dizziness chronically for 29 years. I take d3 with k2 and magnesium once in a while, so I will try taking it more regularly and see what happens. The eppley maneuver has saved me so many times. I normally feel off balance every day, but a wholefood diet has helped to improve that, keeping it minimal. Thanks for the vitamin reminder, Dr. Berg.
I watched your first video on taking these vitamins to help with vertigo. It’s changed my life, it hasn’t gone completely but a bit of vertigo is much better than a lot of vertigo. I was almost housebound at one stage and feeling ill all the time. Thank you so much, I am so grateful. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🤞
Hey Dr. Berg, Im going to try this. I have ear issues on my right side after back 2 back concussions last year. I have pretty intense right ear noise sensitivity (metal objects clanging are #1, hollow loud sounds like stomping in stairs, toilet seat slamming ect) all trigger me into these vertigo bouts that can last 15 mins to a couple hours. Last year during the summer, I swam and laid out daily and felt the best but when our pool closed and Ibwasnt getting as much sun at all, I felt x10 worse. Not sure what this has to do with it either but when I get sick and have Congestion my ear problem actually feels better and then reverts back when illness goes away. I'm going to try what you said to see if it helps my condition.
My wife is facing this problem quite often and I was looking for some information about it to be able to help her, thanks a lot for this video Dr. Berg!
Living in SOFLO hydration is so important. Without my pain management group I would not have survived 75+ years now. My watermelon and o.j. with protein whey shake is the bomb. But absolutely need mucho bottled water.
Amazing! I always thought my vertigo was due to dehydration but this makes so much sense crystals in my ears, stones in my kidneys, and gout crystals in my toe. All due to lack of calcium from low D which I do have. 20 years of this and your video is the first that’s connecting everything for me. Many blessings to you😊
Horrendous choice of video material. Obviously directed at vertigo sufferers, vertigo sufferers are going to watch it...unwatchable. I turned it off within 10 seconds. Do better.
Could you please start adding the time frames in which how often and for how long we should take something. 10k-20k iu’s of vit d3 how often for how long?
Human beings consist of soul and body. Sometimes a person who has a mental crisis becomes physically ill as well. It is wrong to look for all diseases only in the body. A person should keep his morale good and always think positively, then his illnesses will decrease.
Thank you. Had this, severely. Was going every 4-6 weeks to the audiologist for epley manoeuvre. It destroys your life. No alcohol, stay hydrated, avoid using vibrating tooth brushes, all helps too.
Ok I take 5k-10k of vitamin D3 a day = 35k-70k/week and I take it with vit k2, magnesium Oxide, and a OneADay. So I’m for sure taking a lot of this stuff and I have still had a few issues with vertigo. It may be more to this than what is being said here. Having a misaligned neck, I’m sure, plays a part in this as well.
It can be the crystals, definitely cervical, also TMJ can cause vertigo, and viral and/or ear infections can cause it as well. Certain medications can also cause dizziness/vertigo which can be debilitating. It comes down to the process of elimination really.
Thank you DR Berg, but i have serious vertigo and have been taking vit D and magnesium, k2 etc for about 4 years. I have found that the cause of my vertigo is definitely caffeine. Without any question. I don't think there is any other cause for it, at least for me.
@@moony77 ... Yes, and it's funny, i was going to mention that and forgot to write it. I think the reason the coffee does it is because it is a diarrhetic and depletes certain minerals and causes a constant state of mild dehydration. Thanks.
Meneire's disease suspect, very big problem with death wish. Two ENT specialists were clueless, wanting to give me a hearing test to add on to their expensive charges. Transtympanic tube placement was my first idea, but nobody would do it. Second idea from You Tube 'Jim in the gym' was to try antiviral Valcyclovir or Acyclovir, which I am waiting on my PC to prescribe. But it is an awful situation for which people do commit suicide if they are unable to receive treatment to abate the condition. That is probably my fate if a cure is not forthcoming. If you tell someone that, the cops are called, you are arrested in handcuffs, sent to an ER where they are totally clueless, may be sent to mental health for three days, then released with the same vertigo and far more complications from the stupid intervention yielding nothing, Apparently the cause is fluid in the cochlea, with or without an infection I suppose. Why medical research has not discovered a cure, is a question.
Hey Dr. Berg! Thank you for this, heading out today to buy some vitamin D. My question is, what do you recommend for patients who can't get through the Epley maneuver without vomiting violently? This is something that has been happening to me so I can't clear the crystals. Thanks so much for any leads!
for 2 years I always felt very unstable, like the floor is wobbling. I started to work-out and eat 8 eggs a day, which contain vitamin d. got much better since then. I wish I saw this video 2y ago
Amazing. Thanks for sharing your experience here. I hope you will check out my other videos on vitamin D: www.youtube.com/@Drberg/search?query=vitamin%20d
Dear Dr Berg thank you! I found increasing/ balancing my magnesium and potassium fixed my lifelong vertigo. Wonder if it's bc I had too much calcium???
What about Vitamin D toxicity? Isn’t 20,000 iu way too much? I usually take around 5,000 iu and just started taking K2 with it. I also take magnesium glycinate. What type of magnesium are you recommending? There are many types. Is there anything that dissolves the crystals faster? The Eply maneuver is not clearing my crystals for some reason. I am currently on month 4 with vertigo and dizziness, and in PT for it.
@@Drberg thank you for the article. I am not Vitamin D deficient, and my doctor has dealt with Vitamin D toxicity in other patients, so I am wary of it. One month later, I am still dealing with BPPV vertigo and dizziness. I WISH there was a magic supplement(s). Also, You did not mention which Magnesium supplement you recommend. Thanks.
Dr Berg has my house bugged. This is the second video this week that applies to me directly. My aunt is having vertigo problems. Im going to get this video to her.
Yes!!! I agree!!! I suffer also. Dizziness almost constantly when my attacks started. I first got ocular migraines that years later turned into VM and cause me to have to completely change my life.
I had vertigo really bad but it went away when I kept water out of my ear during shower and swimming. I haven’t gotten dizzy in almost two years now. Can’t go swimming but that’s ok 5:04
Thank you once again Dr. Berg. I can always count on you to help and heal me. I wish My Doctor was so truthful with me, instead of all of the torture she puts me through. Never again I know better now. God Bless you for for taking good care of all of us. We Love and need you so much....
