The only problem with this is that it is very hard to yawn like this you get like 90% of the way so it's more of a tease than the 70% of the way you usually get before your yawn dreams are destroyed
Alhamdullah this is life saving thank you doctor, i feel so high on oxygen because of this diaphramatic breathing and i dont feel like stressing or getting angry ot anxious , so beautiful i can write till dawn about it
Thank you for this! I have always been a chest breather and I think it is triggering some anxiety attacks of late. This exercise and a decrease in my caffeine intake has helped
I was taught this by my chorus teacher in 8th grade and It would help us hold our notes better and it stood with me as an adult & is now the only way I know how to breathe & I’ve had so many people even doctors tell me that I am breathing incorrectly and I should fix it, but I physically cannot breathe through my chest lol it’s extremely!! hard for me so this helps me feel human again ❤️❤️
Thank you so much for this! I've had anxiety most of my life so chest breathing is definitely not new for me, but it's never lasted this long before. This past week, I feel like I couldn't regulate my breathing at all. It's gotten to the point where I almost do it subconsciously and then only start to notice when I realise how much my chest is aching. So yeah, I found this such a helpful video because it's actually given me hope that I can get my breathing under control again
20 youtube videos telling me I am breathing wrong. 10 of them say to belly breathe, 10 others saying belly breathing is why I have problems and should engage the abs and enlarge my entire torso. screw youtube for removing dislikes that would sort this missinformation. I have no idea which is correct
I just tried finding on the internet how to get my voice deeper. I found this vid. Fun fact: I didn't even know you could breathe any other way than what is shown in this video, lol
It might be because your diaphragm is weak at the moment since you have never taken breaths this way. As Dan says, the more you practice the more efficient your breathing becomes and subsequently the less you will feel out of breath.
ever since my anxiety worsened I’ve been shallow breathing for months. my meds made it a little less worse, but doc took me off of them for no reason. wake up in a cold sweat every night from violent nightmares and more anxiety.
Here this whole time I thought breathing through my chest was the preferred method lol, I even practiced doing it. I'm probably an expert at chest breathing now and all that time was a waste!
Hear my story and learn from my mistakes : I had a pretty bad posture for some years and starting this year in march i started having a headache that just woudnt go , ive done ct rmn all that shit and it was all ok no tumors no nothing . I had it for 5 months untill ive done some massage and realized how effective is it . Then i realized the problem all along was my neck muscles and ive dont some HOME exercices for that and the pain is gone . I had to go live somewhere else and i had my pc with me but there wasnt any desk so i had to be all the time in an very bad posture to acces it and after 2 months of that i have now difficult breathing because of that , i fell that i dont get enought air so i want to deep breath but i cant . FIX YOUR BODY POSTURE THIS IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN YOU THINK i had countless anxiety problems because of these hope i help somenone with my story
I have the same problem and the breathing is worst when standing.. I get dizzy and anxious due to this. I tried to correct posture and got only abt 20% improvement. Is there a specific body part to improve on? Is it the neck?
@@ibrahimlawal9120 yeah try breathing exercises , not an specific one any of them can help you like it helped me , in less than 1 week where i did 20 min dayli of breath work my breathing was back to normal . Hope it helps
@@raulcalimann7738 did you have the breathing problems in all positions (standing, laying, etc)?? I can breath well when laying but not when standing.. It feels like my diaphragm is tight when standing
You must exahale all the air out of your lungs. I felt like that at first too. If you breathe through chezt, you won't exhale all the air, so you must try to do it becuse then you can breathe in more "new" air.
When you’re used to breathing through your chest, belly breathing is likely to give you a stuffy feeling at first, but actually, if you practice belly breathing more and you’re able to fully breathe with your belly at one point, you’ll feel that you get a lot more air than by chest breathing. Happy breathing!😉
Breathing should be easy. Learn the basic technique, can be difficult as the way we breathe is locked into our habit. It took me 10 weeks to relax enough to breathe out properly. The benefits of nose breathing using the diaphragm are miraculous. (Add cold showers and you will have a completely new you). Lockdown gave me the time to improve my health
I have always struggled with breathing, I have a deviated septum, inhaling through my nose is very difficult and I can hardly do it without opening my mouth and gasping for air, exhaling is easier but even then I feel obstruction in my nostrils during that, and breathing through mouth is also not that helpful because I struggle with it as well. Idk what to do :(
I've been breathing wrong for idk how long......... I breath from my chest and my stomach goes in instead of out. Gonna try and remember to practice this daily. I'm noticing right off the bat, I have shorter breaths when practicing.
My voice is naturally deep but sometimes I when I get stressed, I also anxiety my voice beomes 'rubbish' not as deep not as commanding, this should help me alot :)
This makes me more out of breath, is it supposed to hurt your throat and chest ? It’s sore from practicing and my chest is tight . I naturally breath from my belly... maybe im breathing to hard or trying to hard... 🤷♀️
after watching this I just learned that I naturally breathe from my diaphragm, and can switch to "chest breathing" on command, It just feels more normal to breathe from my diaphragm...
I have asthma. And I definitely breath through my chest more than my diaphragm. When I try to breath through my diaphram I feel like I'm only getting 1/3 of the air I get when breathing from my chest. It's supposed to give more air...but I feel worse. Any suggestions as to the cause? Do I just need to work on diphram breathing more?
asia g try taking deeper breaths while doing diaphragm breathing. One breathing exercise I recommend is to lay down and put a book on your belly button. Once you start breathing, make sure the book rises and falls by expanding your belly while you inhale, and shrinking it while you exhale. Other than that you should probably just do breathing exercises daily. I hope this helps!
It’s so hard to breathe like this. I fell like my lungs aren’t fully filled in each breathe. Also, does not sitting straight affect breathing capacity? Like, does the lung bends from not sitting straight and cause breathing capacity to decrease? Also, does laying front-down for a long time affect breathing capacity? Like, does it push the ribs in and decrease space for lungs? Also, is it possible that it’s because the air in the room is not enough? I’m in a medium room with no passage of air, only air conditioner, and I keep it off almost all the time. And the outside of my room is another no passage of air. (Only very small gaps from doors and bathrooms.) Also is it possible that it’s because I alway wear mask when going outside? Like, never take it off when outside. Does that cause my breathing to change? Will it get better if I keep doing the correct way? I can’t breathe fully. It feels like I only get 1/4 of what I want each breathe. If you see this, please provide me some suggestions, that would be great, thank you!
I feel like I’m not getting as much air as I should, I’ve been breathing with my chest like my whole life so is this normal? Like when I breathe in with my stomach, it feels like I can breathe in more than I could
I feel like my (weak) abs are stretching so much and will tear when breathing like this. Should my abs be contracting? Or do they stretch and tighten as my gut sticks out giving a firm stomach? Or am I too anxious to even do this right? My anxiety is 📈📈📈. 🥴
This is really helpful and it truly helps for those with asthma and struggling to breathe. I have both asthma and anxiety and this really helps for both problems but too bad i learned it on my own, the hard way 😅 I wish i had come across this video sooner. Anyhow, thanks for the simple explanation 🙋🏻♀️👍🏻
@@monishgowda5555 sit upright on a comfortable chair, then breathe like what the doctor said: 1) put one hand on your chest and another hand on your belly 2) breathe in deeply until your stomach sticks out/rise up. You should see that your hand on your belly rise up. If your chest rise up, then you are breathing wrongly. 3) repeat step 2 for another 10 minutes or more. For the next few days, take some time to repeat and monitor yourself so that you can get used to breathe the right way
