Issue was throttle body adaption after disconnecting of battery in a 1999 VW Passat wagon. Today is Oct 2, 2020 I ordered the Hex-V2 a week ago, it arrived in the mail this afternoon. I downloaded software and connected everything and followed the steps in this video. It recognized the fault in the throttle body and took me through step by step to readapt. Was back up and running in about 5 min! Then took some time to go through and clear other codes. Thanks Ross- Tech!
@@ughblenders I believe I bought the $199 Hex-V2 version that lets you work on up to three vin car numbers. By the way, the older cars it doesn’t register a vin in the system, so you get more wiggle room depending on the number of cars your working on. As I said in my post, i downloaded the software, hooked it up and had the throttle body issue cleared up in just a few minutes. Hope it works for you!

Great video. Did this the other week but I forgot to check the battery voltage, the TBA solved my problems for 2 days but the problem came back. I forgot to check the battery Voltage, what happens if the voltage is not over the limit 11,5-11,9 V?
Then you wait more than 30 seconds. :) I'm not really sure why the 30 second rule is there in the first place. From our point of view (VCDS), nothing happens between the ECM and VCDS after the ADP OK message comes up. The EPROM does need to save new values from the Throttle Body, but I would think that takes 30 seconds to happen, as in milliseconds. But the 30 second rule comes from VW / Audi, so I'm sure there is some reason for it.
my 1.8t aeb 1998 drive by cable runs the group 98 adapt over and over again, it wont stop. looks like in the video but after like 8 seconds it starts again... no codes. only a climbing idle speed from 900-1250rpm, hot and cold. this is after cleaning and ecu was unplugged. Thanks!

I was trying to calibrate my throttle body in my audi a4b7 (8E) 2005 but i don't have any of these options. Protocol says CAN, there's no channel 098 or 060 and in the drop menu there's only EGR, boost pressure and Fuel pump. Can i get a bit of help?
Hi. I have a Seat ibiza 1.4 TSi 6j cupra, BocaNegrA version with 180hp. Original. I m doing the replacement of that throttle. But I also have to replace the other one behind . Exactly behind of that black plastic throttle, theres another metal throttle. So How can I differentiate the alignment from the plastic throttle to the metal throttle with VCDS and vagcom??
Good morning, I installed the new EGR valve and the new throttle body, do I need to alignment them? I reset the error and it didn't reappear, the machine seems fine. Golf 5 2004 2.0 tdi 16v 103kw Bkd.

I have a 2019 VW GTI SE and I changed my battery. The cruise control didn't work right away, didn't think about it on a stick shift. I parked, turned it off, turned it on but not start, waited for 5 minutes, turned it off, started the car and suddenly I had my cruise control back. I have no idea why, just sharing my experience with this model VW.
Did you have the battery disconnected? If so, then doing the TBA can resolve that issue. The high pitch noise... throttle bodies are known to do this, it can be considered normal in most cases.

I was under the impression you can do this without VCDS, supposedly you turn the key on hold the gas pedal to the floor for 5 seconds, then switch the key off then release the gas pedal the alignment takes place by itself over the next few seconds with the key off...
Mine had a bad engine temperature sensor. Basically the car thought it was extremely cold but it was in the summer time. I'm not sure if that was the causing the error though. Did get the car running again, at least for a few months. It did the same thing again and no matter what we did, we never did get it started again.
@@tazgamerplays seems like there are different kind of throttle bodies, check vcds website and they say how to adjust each one of the three kinds. There’s a video from their official channel, probably you need to run a full on-off time to get it to adjust
@@azzz8083 We ended up just junking the car. We started having other issues. The back driver side door had a short somewhere, the front passenger window mechanism broke, an exhaust leak started after getting it running. We didn't want to put the money into it.
I'm trying to perform the thottle body adaptation on my Brazilian VW UP TSI using the new VCDS version V22.3.1 for win11 but I can't find the option anywere! Maybe they removed this option from this version or changed the option to another place?

@dreadwings3 I found the opinion to perform the throttle body alignment on the newest vcds version, which is on a very different location. Will need to re- learn how to use vcds because they changed things place. Regarding if I could manage to perform throttle body alignment, the answer is I am not sure because at old version v12, we can listen to the throttle body working (the characteristic noise) with the newest version the throttle body simple do nothing. The characteristic noise is not present. Therefore, I am not sure if it's working properly or not.

My 98 beetle is stalling out after doing a valve cover basket install and i can hear it making that high pitch noise. Should i be looking into doing this?

Hello. I can´t do the Throttle Body Alignment. The car is a Golf V 1.4 FSI 2004 and appear "Error" on Group 60 in Basics settings. I already change the throttle body, ecu and check the wiring. I think that the problem is the lambda sensor. The dtc is "Adaptation not started". Please help. Thanks (sorry my english)

Crank and head is Right, transmission saved in pouring down rain fluid right, not diesel found it gas, got the job of read that's. Han nes bag box and battery goes out about as expected. Dec 25 2022
Sadly my 1,8T AGU kesps throwing a P1559 - 35 - 00 failure code. Basic settings arent possible to set up. The Adaption always stops. I already got a new Throttlebody, still the same error. Anyone has a clue.

Why does mine shows "adaptation value - error" in the last box, when I go to channel 060? 2000 Audi S8. Ignition on, engine isn't running. VCDS Lite 1.2 full.
The shareware version doesn't support Basic Settings. But when you purchase the full version, then yes, it is possible to do a Throttle Body Alignment.
what is the full version? i sepnt $270 on a VCDS scanner mainly to do a TBA and i have the downloaded file from the 20.12.0 release how do i know if i have the full version or not?

@@johnsantos6948 when I replaced the egr, i also replaced the throttle body. They were both new. But egr keeps giving error p0401 egr a flow insufficient detected
Hi, I had my door electrics messed with on vcds. now my window switches work opposite to what they should also the wing mirror swich is opposite. any idea how I can sort this? I have vcds so can access the systems. many thanks
You probably have the coding for LHD vehicles, you'll likely need to either change through the hidden menu or by changing through vcds, although be careful not to incorrectly code as you can cause permanent damage to expensive modules.
I have a vagcom cable, I got a engine fault for intake manifold sensor flap fault, I had the flaps sensor changed and I still get the same fault for sensor position flap, I ha r a tdi diesel mk5 jetta and was told that a diesel has no throttle body my engine is cjaa so I tried to adjuat the flaps in vagcom I get a error any suggestions thanks
At the 4:00 mark in the video it is stated that that diesels do not have a throttle body, so the details in this video would not apply. Szalasi Zsolt Depends. Our wired interfaces can be used with the Windows 8 tablets. You can find them for under $100 for the 7" and 8" versions. They often have a micro-USB port, so an adapter would be needed. Our HEX-NET wifi interface comes with VCDS-Mobile. VCDS-Mobile works with Android and Apple devices. Search our Ross-Tech.com website for "HEX NET" to learn more.
The thing is I already have an interface (Hex-Can 12.12 with usb connection cable) and I wanted to know if it could be used with the Android tablets, but I realized that it's not worth complicating things, I'm gona buy a notebook and that should do it. Thanks for the info anyway! P.S. I tested my car the other day, wanted to know if I have any error codes , and after the full scan I started the engine and wanted to see the real time functions (measuring blocks) and surprise .. any number I picked in the measurings groups it wrote N/A and some error ... I don't recall anymore what it was. What could do that kind of errors?
I am sick of these measurement blocks.the newer vcds doesn't have the measuring block option. its grayed out. and all these videos are using measuring blocks
So now that I know my 2006 TDI has no Throttle-body, how do I use my RTech software to get my car out of Anti-theft mode? I changed the ignition components except Key housing/ chip reader. Car starts the shuts off ?
+jensen chase its not surprising considering these things aitn cheap, so they have to make their money back (obviously they are also using up their time to press buttons but also go further into doing some physical diagnostics afterwards
@@Mathewmartialart my dealership was going to charge me $500 to test a good throttle body then even more just to have it replaced and labor on top of that, I decided to do it and it only cost me $60 and 3 afternoons also one of the damned hex bolts holding the throttle body on was torqued down way too much and stripped out, then I had to take out the intake manifold luckily I have a mechanic who allows me to use his shop and tools to fix my cars, although I would consider my Audi more of a nightmare than a car XD
