We have similar story. When economy collapsed in 2008 I didn't even come out my room for 2 weeks straight, except for bathroom... Except my mom said: "it's not embarrassing to fall it's embarrassing not to get up".
My wife does it so I am know it is possible. You need to believe in yourself. Find a good mentor. Update your financial mindset. Hang with winners. Get into action. Build a team around you and leverage their actions.
a big factor for selling real estate is looking good and knowing how to talk to people. people are much more forgiving if the realtor is someone they are attracted to.
Sex appeal sells thats a fact. But i most say that i made a personal test on this by letting my beard and hair grow for a year and a half without grooming them. And what happened? I was still able to keep the same achievements. That being said, in my opinion, being attractive can give you more fish in the lake but its the right one? The one that you want and lets you catch them? I dont think so. Your personality (honesty, integrity, profissionalism...) beats the unattractiveness by giving you the right fish.
My absolutely favorite real estate "motivational " speech. I love that she didn't waste her time feeing sorry for herself and getting ready to get ready. It's funny to hear so much about your "mindset" in the real estate industry. My mindset and hard work has gotten me ahead quickly in my current profession but this video I saw last year really helped me to make the leap to enroll in real estate school. Happy to share I'm watching this video again for the 3rd time and studying for my real estate exam. This talk is a keeper! You go girl! ❤️

I went through all that stuff in 2008-2011 - Recession; Lost everything I'd worked for (house, job, etc.) ...but I kept a good spiritual routine (which really saved me) and I learned that 'stuff' means nothing. It's just stuff. In fact the less I owned, the more free I felt. Thanks to good friends and family I've moved on. I would like to own property now, but not to live in....as a retirement investment/plan. I'm not interested in trying to impress people around me with how much I own ((I own nothing at the moment LOL) ...more for financial security for my wife.

Still works. I got lucky today in my farm. Got someone whos selling their home next month, someone who is willing to sell soon, and especially let me list because we are both from the same small towns back home, and a huge potential client, whom I already called tonight. Plus I look mexican, everyone thinks im Mex, especially here in Vegas. Im actually German/Italian.

I hear you...she was talking about Christmas 2012, and on Christmas Eve 2012, my Mum was in the Emergency ward. She passed away in January 2013. I know she'd be incredibly proud I'm now a Realtor!

REAL ESTATE agents make a million $ and then pay 75k in taxes............REAL ESTATE investors, landlords, developers, etc make a million $ and pay ZERO in taxes. Which one you wanna do?
Ok, so one thing I’ll say I 100% disagree with is door knocking in a gated, no solicitation community. I live in one of those communities and you will be BANNED, charged with a misdemeanor, and a fine of up to $300. We even have a website and cameras on almost every house where you can report them. It’s not worth asking forgiveness when it can cost you an entire farm and give you a criminal record. This is horrible advice! This is what gives salespeople a bad name. And if she came to my house on Christmas Eve, I would intentionally never use her as my realtor. That is family time and is just rude! She got lucky! Don’t do this!

Great technique, but some people love their neighborhood. Possibly, expand and help secure owners buy their second investment property or vacation home.
Loved the video! I've implemented a similar farm building plan and it has worked for me every time. Only difference with my story is they are not million dollar listings. So I have to close 45+ transactions per year to keep GCI goal at $250K+ with holding at least 10%+ of the listings annually in my farm (1200 homes). I would prefer to expand to a farm like she mentioned doing less transactions per year for more income. Currently, I do the work solo. However, adding A players to do the work I don't care for, sure does sound devine. Goals!! Good luck to everyone as the 2019 Spring season is upon us! $$$

Worked super hard for others to gain income. Now I'm getting my agents license and making my dream come true. Real estate is also about looks too, the reason why she is so successful in real estate, look at her, male clients are gonna see her and wanna do business. For example if the Kardashians were a family of celebrity real estate brokers and ellen DeGeneres was a celebrity real estate broker. The Kardashians will have a higher clientele, because of how they look.
Her first 5 seconds were ackward as hell. Start strong then slow down. Its not easy, the public speaking, but that pause right before she said "my friends"... I cringe. I liked the video anyways because the story telling and the message was strong.
It's inspiring to know that hard work can payoff. In fairness though, $1.1 million in the team's gross commissions is not earning 1 million dollars. The reason I mention it is that there are team leaders making over $1M GCI and losing money. You are running a business so net income per agent needs to become a focus and risk is real when you hire assistants etc.
SleeplessinOC , you can stage a property by removing items to declutter the home. Use items from one room that works nicer in another. Some good sweat equity and a mop and broom with a scented candle goes a long way. You will be surprised how much marketing you can get done with just a pack of colorful index cards and pen that you have lying around.I hope that helped.
