Stop eating ramen like a newbie. Come to Korea, and do the tricks that pro-level 99 Ramen eaters do when they eat ramen. We'll teach you. We'll show you the light. ☞ It's time for Japan adventures: / kingkogi #Korea #KoreanFood #Ramen
Cheese + Ramen is actually popular in Korea. As a Korean, I gotta say that these two know what they're doing! Nice job. Very informative. Please stop bitching over the cheese... Koreans do that all the time. We even put sausages and bacons in our ramen.
마미르 yep i'm not korean nor american nor japanese...(im asian, that's it) I have tried the ramen with cheese, sausage and it's sooooo good. Ya'll have to tried it. P.s i can't eat spicy stuff
I come back to this video because its so enjoyable, but it's even more hilarious reading the people's comments who obviously don't know the two and that they have been in Korea for a while when that video was made. xD They get so offended and I'm like, these are two adults trying to have fun and spread their love/eating tactics for ramen.
Tbh some korean do this too. I’m korean american, and i love cheese in my ramen but a lot of my korean friends are weirded out by it. Kinda disappointed in simon and martina tho bcs THEY FORGOT THE DANMUJI (단무지) THAT’S ESSENTIAL TO KOREAN STYLE INSTANT RAMEN KDKJCFNKDKDKVKFI
Watching this video is like watching childhood memories or pictures of my family back together. It feels like simpler times, and altogether it brings me nostaljoy
Imagine being so deluded that you would not only get offended by it, but claim that it is cultural appropriation just because they aren't asian. IMAGINNNNNE
offended? no. Burst out laughing because they have convenience store ramen AND "pro" in the title? Absolutely. But that's the joy of the vid right? The partial satire.
It´s funny how people criticize them, saying that they should go back to America because they added cheese to their ramen, when in this exact same video they mention the "cheese-bokki" (aka. spicy rice cake with cheese) which was made IN Korea BY koreans. Just reacting to all the hate in the comments after re-watching one of my favorite Simon and Martina´s video in Korea :)
ivanna chong Ikr. They're aren't even fucking American. They're Canadians. All these people in the comments acting like Sherlock. Like shit man, it's the Internet. I bet most people who are telling them they're "ruining" Ramen by adding cheese and ranch aren't even Asian.
I’m korean american and it’s actually a trend rn in korea to put cheese in spicy/kimchi things. I’ve seen spicy rice cake topped with cheese, rice cake filled with cheese, etc and one of my favorite things to eat at home is my mom’s kimchi fried rice with cheese on top :)))
I think its funny how people are like "I'm asian, this is not how you eat ramen. I know better than you". and then they are probably from america and have never lived a year in asia....like ok sure.
Now that I see people talking about this it really does kind of piss me off that so many people went after these two back in the day. Most people kind of assumed they didn't speak Korean at all. It's wild. But if they knew them they'd know how good their hearts :/
Can I point out that just because you don't eat your ramen like this, doesn't mean they don't? They're not 'Americanizing' anything. I'm sure they would have said they were. Eggs do change the broth consistency as does the cheese. It makes the broth creamier. I had a girlfriend who put steak sauce and cheese in her instant noodles, she's both Korean and Japanese. Instant noodles, as well as packaged ramen aren't traditional. An actual ramen, OR guksu recipe is traditional. Ramyeon is the way the pronounce ramen in Korea. They aren't weeaboos, they live in Korea. The amount of judging I've seen is crazy, and it's for the smallest reasons ever. If Simon likes ranch in his ramen then so be it. If Martina likes cheese in her ramen, so be it. You can have your own preference without judging others.
Unfortunately we live in a society now where if you're white you are "appropriating everyone's culture." I appreciate Korean and Japanese culture, but you can't show appreciation for it without being called a weaboo.
im tearing up... this is literally the first video i saw of simon and martina... omg i regret judging you guys...(in a good way) please proceed to judge me now... :(
I hate revisiting this video because I'm someone who scrolls through the comments and the comments section is full of either newcomers or general haters. sigh I feel bad saying this after three years but 1. They're not technically American, They're Canadian (don't know Martina's ancestry) and Polish. 2. They've lived in Korea for 7+ years. 3. Lots of Koreans eat that particular type of ramyeon like that, minus the ranch but Simon just likes ranch. 4. They use acronyms like Fap Fap and Wank as jokes...
Im hecka late but if they're born in Canada then they're Canadian, even more so that'd make them North American. You dont have to have a long lineage that resided in said country to be that nationality. I know plenty of white and black guys who were born in china or the philippines but had ancestral roots in America. Both of them are Asian as their nationality
Memoria James That's like saying someone who is Israeli is the same as someone who is Palestinian. They're both from around the same region but the two are completely different.
@@marisolmelendez6182 But America (or Americas depending on where you're from) is a continent (North America and South America). United States of America is a country. Palestine is not a continent. Its continent is Asia which makes them all collectively asian.
So I'm learning Korean and I paused the video in the beginning and saw the sign on the convenience store door that says "아이스 커피" I was ecstatic that I knew that it said "Iced Coffee"... Then I realized that it literally says 'Iced Coffee' but in hangul xD
Don’t worry about the dislikes. Many people watching this video don’t know that we were living in Korea for 8 years so they think we are making this up 😉 if it makes you smile then it’s a win video for me
Mad props to S&M for having people commenting on a video thats nearly 2 years old, although, some of them are quite salty comments, but hey,MAAAAAD PROPS.
So, my daughter and I used to watch this particular video, when we couldn't figure out what to watch on youtube.....then we would just let the videos just auto play after. Well, that was 6 years ago, and she's now a sophomore at Columbus college of Art and Design.....here I am, in 2020, reminiscing.....thank you. I love you two for the lifelong memories for my daughter and I.
Simon, Simon, last semester for my International Business class, I did a paper on why ranch should be produced in the Asian countries. And I got an A. Because of you Simon! I really would like to thank you for giving me the idea and that A also. Thank you! :D
Why do people not like cheese mixed with other stuff in noodles? Isn't it like mac and cheese? I add weird stuff to my noodles all the time. More than just processed cheese and eggs. Sometimes I add honey, various shredded cheeses, soy sauce, vinegar, heck I've ever tried making vanilla noodles before. I don't understand how you can judge someone because their tastes are different from yours. Don't be a close-minded person.
No, I think that's nothing to be concerned about. It's an interesting combination. I think that it's normal and fine to mix things together. How else would we know that peanut butter goes with jelly and strawberries are divine with chocolate?
Let's talk about it now in 2019. This is the golden age of Simon!! And Martina's hair change. I love the purple and pink mix soooo much! OMG!! They are too beautiful for my eyes. 👀👀
I feel like I come back here to watch this video all the time because it just gives me joy seeing Simon and Martina so excited over something as simple as instant ramen. It's shocking to know so many people hated on such a wholesome video!
I just came back here because this is one of the first videos I watched from simon and martina and its so funny how weird I thought thye were but now I totally get it. Lol I thought they were just friends who workwd together because I thought they both queued a bit as gay. Im laughing.
lol those 3 korean guys automatically got up when leigh moved the camera on martina but the 2 foreigner guys didn't really care like yep, foreigners lol
You guuuys 😣 It's totally unfair to us tablet & phone users that you don't provide the links to the xtra footage & bloopers in the description! I just can't understand it. Your very devoted to your ppl but yet your leaving SO many of us out😟 😢😭
This was the first Simon and Martina video I ever saw! I found it after googling ways to fancy up my ramen, and then falling into a deep hole of watching random people eat various types of ramen noodles. I can remember wondering if you two were together, or just awkwardly close friends, hahaha. Now you two are some of my favorites on RU-vid! Had to come back and revisit my first SNM video and share my love 💕💕
I am Korean but I was born in the States. we eat different kinds of ramyun (ramen) but my favorite brand is the Samyang ramyun that has the bright orange packaging (u can see from the vid. I saw it!) we would add 4 packets of Samyang ramen (because there are four of us) in a large pot and add 4 eggs, break the yolks so that pieces of the egg is evenly distributed throughout the broth and noodles. Then the kimchee!! Not the fresh ones. We would do sometimes, but because they leave a very leafy flavor, almost bitter taste that we would just leave our kimchee in the fridge, almost like the kimchee is aging. it leaves a really great flavor once you take it out the fridge and add it to the ramyun. We either mix the kimchee with the ramyun OR eat the kimchee cold straight from the fridge and eat it with the hot noodles. the refrigerated kimchee cools down the noodles and the kimchee has this crunch when you bit it along with the noodles... Im just getting hungry from typing all of this... X3
Haha dying cause people are fighting about race and origin and shit. K I would def call them pros (of Korean cup noodles) cause they've seen and tried all kinds of Korean ramen combos. Are you better at Korean ramen combos than they are?? Unless you actually are and are living in Korea, I can't call you a pro. AND ramen/ramyun is originally from China (No I'm not Chinese so I'm not one of those overly proud Chinese). It means spicy noodles (someone else told me it also means pulled noodles). Ramen in Japan and Korea has made their own kinds of ramens after it branched out.
that came off too serious...... I don't care about subtitles. I do, however, care that 6 million Turks support and condone the actions of ISIS (Israeli Secret Intelligence Service) and Sharia Law. that is pathetic.
+Shattered Indoctrination well you think racist comments are modern and peaceful. in Turkey almost all Turks curse terror ajd gate terror you know just media think you even know real Turks. You're real barbar and attacker right now. You have to grown up.
klovershows So if someone doesn't like cheese in something that originally was never made to have cheese in it, they wouldn't like Italian pasta? Sorry you can't even compare the both they're too different
