First off awsome project! I'm planning somthing a bit smaller for a 3500 Ram truck. I have a question. I found supplier here in the USA that sells .040" aluminum 103" wide in a roll by the foot. I know it would be a pain in the butt to handle for the walls but have no seams. anyone ever do this? I"m worried it will buckle in summer heat without an expansion joint every 4' Thank you for making these informative videos!

1/16" material is super thin for a skin material, I am sure it will buckle. It will also dent very easy, unless you glue this on to an other substrate full surface 040 is too thin.

NICE JOB.....I'm building one as well just smaller. Did you use the sika 252 because you were gluing metal to a metal or because your not using mechanical fasteners? im glue a metal frame to a wood exterior and planning on some fastener hidden under trim. Are you going to use the Sika to glue in the plywood you mentioned? \

Thank you. Yes I used sika 252 because I do not use any fasteners, glue only. I do not use a sika product for the plywood installation. I will use a spray on glue, you will see in the video soon. Good luck with your project !

Hahaha you won't believe how often I have measured the opening in doubt. It's gonna be tight but will work.

Great stuff! Was there a reason you didn’t overlap your sheets and choose to cover them with a strap?

No overlap the sheets get installed on the same surface and a strip of 50mm will cover the seam.

Thank you for your response. I understand the way you plan to build your shell, just wondering if you had a reason you didn’t overlap your joints and choose to cover them instead. I’m in the process of building my camper and will be building the walls with home made composite panels (aluminum, xps foam, and uv cured plywood bonded with polyurethane glue). I plan to overlap the outside aluminum skin to create a water tight seal. The panels will be bonded to the exoskeleton using Sika products. I was just making sure I wasn’t overlooking something by building my habitat this way. Thanks,

@@mehrdadmorabbi6743 well overlapping came never to my mind. Without seeing a sketch of your wall build it is complicated to give you a feedback. But your composite layers sound very good.
