I know you've gotta keep the lights on with your sponsor stuff but I really enjoyed you giving us your real choices on baits no matter which company put them out, sponsor or not.. Love seeing a video along the lines of your older stuff that is just straight to the point teaching. keep up the great work man, you've made real differences for the better in peoples lives making good information so accessible to new and old fisherman alike.
Thanks for the video you changing so many kids lives with these instruction.. No better feeling in the world than seeing someones face when they hook up to that first 7 pounder. Especially beginners.. You can just tell when their hooked on bass fishing for life.. Anyway thanks for getting kids off the video games and back to the outdoors..
One way I like to describe why bass are tight to cover in muddy water is by relating it to when you're in a dark room. You aren't going to want to stand in the middle of the room with no point of reference. You're going to want to find the nearest wall or STRUCTURE to come into contact with so that you can figure out what your position is in the world. Same goes with our beloved bass and any other living organism who's senses are impaired by the environment. They'll want to figure out where they are, and establish comfort within that position until conditions clear up, or whatever is impairing their vision, or positioning senses clears up.I just thought I'd drop this little gem for you and my other fishing friends. Thanks for the awesome video Flukemaster!
Yet again, my man is tackling the difficult conditions. I appreciate ya. I started off on your channel a week of two ago with the bank fishing video. Good content
The evolution of your work, through the many challenges and hardships, continues to hone and simplify itself. Life has made you a better fisherman (and teacher.) Fishing has made you a better life.
I’m pretty stoked you’re going to start instructional videos again. I can appreciate kayak fishing but when you’re doing this kind of video I feel like I’m out with a buddy having a great day fishing.
Keep it up Gene. This is the stuff we want to see. Ordering my first boat today, nothing fancy but I can’t wait to apply what I learned over the years from you off a boat. Thank you.
In my muddy water studies, I literally watched Matt Allen's (Tacticalbassin) video right before this! So great that you quoted him on spinnerbaits! Love both of your channels!
This is your wheelhouse my friend and the reason we’ve been here since the beginning. The insight is invaluable and there’s a motivational factor as well. Great content!
Going out to fish muddy water tomorrow, and I came straight to Flukemaster to hear his insight. Best insructional videos. I met Flukemaster at the boat ramp last year and he is a high quality fishermen and an even better dude. Thanks for these vids man!
You do a great job with these instructional videos, and I like how you don't spend the first five minutes of your videos trying to sell me stuff (*cough cough Andrew Flair cough*).
You got me started on youtube bass fishing videos years ago, with videos just like this one. Also being from NorCal, I liked the Matt Allen reference. I also watched that video where he was talking about spinnerbait blades, it made sense. Keep it up.
Just fished the FLW college open on Kentucky and we had rising muddy water all tournament. Watching this video afterward and these techniques were all we fished
Great video Gene! Love this content. All your videos are awesome but the informative videos are my favorite!!! Keep it up and thanks for sticking to your roots and not just doing videos for views.
Another super informative video. I swear this is the only channel I take notes from on RU-vid. You're the man, Gene! Keep up the good work. Tight Lines!!!
I wish you would grow as fast as the other guys. I remember when you were THE RU-vid fisherman (still are in my mind) RU-vid is a young market and your audience is mostly older . I like how you showed different companies in this video and not just biospawn. I knew when MTB was not right for you, when you got the sample packs in the probox you looked pissed. I also know that if Fluke says it's good then it is legit. Keep doing what your doing man you HAVE taught me how to fish.
I knew when I started this that it would be a slow and steady growth. That's just the nature of instructional content on the internet. Sensational entertainment grows popularity fast because everyone likes to be entertained. Not everyone wants to lean how to fish.
Flukemaster: PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE stick to fishing public waters as much as possible! When you went down to Bienville for the winter, I almost stopped watching your channel because I wasn't learning much of anything that I felt was applicable to me. Private waters--especially in Florida--are simply unrealistic for 90% of us. I loved your old videos on Clarks Hill and a lot of the new ones at other PUBLIC venues. You are one of the best fishing mentors on RU-vid, but I just feel you will end up helping the most people by sticking to scenarios that are accessible to the largest % of viewers. Thanks for all the great content!! You're awesome!
I love these instructional videos. My favorite that you do. I have learned so much from watching them they really helped me get my pb last fall. Thanx for making them. 🤙🏻
Love it man! So glad your back to your old self! And you turned the camera and showed the spots you were fishing like I always wished you would. lol Flukemaster is back and better than ever!
Not about muddy water, but I just wanted to say that in your live video feed you were asked who was your favorite pro-angler. You answered Gerald Swindle. he was giving a seminar up here in Ohio and I made sure to go because of your answer. Man, am I glad I did!!! What a phenomenal guy. He didn’t talk much on fishing but keyed in on attitude. Very motivational!! So glad you mentioned him. Thanks Again
Great content.. I just caught my personal best a few days ago on black and blue Tx rig pitching to cover. I didn’t k ow about the water going down and then moving back off. Thanks for that!
Hey I work at a tackle store in lake worth Texas I would love if you could come by if you are ever in Dallas or Fort Worth you were my inspiration for fishing and now it’s taking me to a whole new avenue of life I would love to meet you
Thanks man. I’ve been trying to get on em with these baits in lake Murray SC seems like every time I go we get rain 2 days before. The water temp was 61 and I couldn’t buy a bite this week.
Thanks Bob. It's time to go back to the real me. You will still see a few videos of my fishing trips though but my goal is to produce a lot more videos.
I have found that if you want that shad profile on your spinner bait, but don't want to sacrifice the thump of the Colorado blade, try using an Indiana blade.
Great video. Long time subscriber here. I prefer it without the background music while you talk. Maybe it was just a little loud, but it made it harder for me to focus on what you were saying. Keep up the great work!
FLUKIE!! I named my son after you. His name is Flukemaster McBassface. I'm glad to see you doing the instructional's again. I love the KBF stuff as a kayak guy, but it's nice to see you teaching. It's almost like a weight has lifted from you. .... I dunno.... Anyhoozle, keep showing me how to catch those damned fishees, and I'll keep subbin and sending those thumbs your way. Lates.
Gene- love all your stuff man, and super stoked you seem to be doing more Kayak fishing lately! you should check out NuTech jigs. They give me nothing so this is genuine... They are nearly impossible to get hung up. They have a video pulling it through a chain link fence. I really like all the colors they offer too. Made right here in SW Missouri. Tight lines bro!
Chris Huddleston yo dude i could be mistaken but i am pretty sure he is sponcored by Z-man so that is why he didnt mention Nu tech when he mentioned chatterbaits with weed guards real quick. He knows about Nu-tech lol.
It's weird, but green pumpkin works really well for me in muddy water on my lake. I kind of went on a whim and tried it one day in super muddy water and to my surprise, it worked. I am fishing tight to cover though.
Michael Fritz it's just a jack of all trades. It's not really bad for anything. You take a gamble when u go with the out there colors, it's go big or go home (obviously you still catch monster with green pumpkin but if the fishing isn't up to par a dark or wild color can make or break it)
Flukemaster 12:45 if youre fishing big lakes use the willow leaf blade. me:great now i gotta go back to academy and purchase the strike king mini spinnerbaits with solid white color solid color even though i just purchased the colorado bladed version.
Gene...I am in a fishing funk brother. Went to Gville this last weekend and they had a college FLW tournament going. The weather wasn't as good as it was the week before when the lows were in the mid 50's, instead we got lows in the upper 30s and they had rain come in right before we went down there. I figured it was going to push the bass out a little bit and fishing wasn't going to be as good as it was the week before we got there. There was over 200 boats for this tournament and one third of them didn't have a fish to weigh. Since we were there for only a couple days we really didn't have time to idle around the lake and check the depth finder properly. There was a lot of Eel Grass and such so I was hopeful to stick to fishing pockets around the grass. Can you help me or direct me to a video where you address locating fish and how to put together a game plan before even throwing a bait in the water. Maybe I'm just overthinking it but when you come away from fishing Guntersville with just catching one drum and no bass all weekend I guess that'll do it to you... Keep up the good work and tight lines from a flukemaster fan from Kentucky
Kevin H. Just from what I have luck with here on Pickwick, further west on the Tennessee, the crazy rainfall and the heat we have been having warm the ground up in between the cold has pulled them out of the main river up into the creeks where the runoff has warmed from the ground.
Love the information Fluke. Your general fishing videos are fun, but i LOVE the ones with you just breaking down how you think. Also, what is your lapel mic? I'm looking to make a couple videos but can't find a good lapel.
I’ve been dealing with this problem a lot and the cove that I live in is really shallow and have very very little cover so I’m hoping this will work to get them 👍🏼 one question I have is if this is going to all work, when there isn’t much cover?
That water don't look bad compared to the mud puddle I fish. We got like 4" visability 45° water temp. We also see them on the graph but they're are not wanting to bite Help Lol! THANKS
You mention that if we can't reach the bank, we're wasting casts. But, that the exception is if the water is falling. How can we recognize falling water on such muddy days, especially if we're on the boat?
