Very useful video. Have been trying to locate a Disco Sport with the right trim level and running boards, but proven to be elusive so far. Now I can choose a car without the boards and fit them myself afterwards. Thanks!
Thanks for the video.. Did one side as per your video, all ok.. The other side, unfortunately the nuts had siezed and would not have been able to get the plastic off, but managed to use a knife and small hacksaw to cut the bits out I needed to attch the brackets..
Thanks for the detail instruction for the installation.I had installed the Disco 4 side step before and it was much more straight forward. I bought side step for my new Disco 5 and couldn't find the all mounting point as it was covered by the underside shield. Without this video, I would still be wondering how to mount the mounting brackets.

@@L663 Do you know for a US version (left side drivers wheel) would the rear 3-bolt mounting brackets be reversed? Meaning one of the rear brackets you showed had a hole and one rear bracket has a slot?
I was able to installed my running boards, thanks!!! Fyi a spacer kit from Land Rover is required for 21ym and beyond to installed these running boards.

Hi, I have the new 2023 Discovery 5 and you'll need to buy a set of spacers for the front brackets as there's now a metal box section preventing these to be mounted as per your video. Make sure when buying these spacers, if they don't already come in your kit, that the pack includes the longer mounting bolts which you will now need.
Hello, I find your videos to be very helpful. I had sidesteps installed to my Disco 5 today and as I also see in your video too; the brackets are covering the lift points, so should I place the tire jack on the bracket, in fact the person who installed the sidestep told me so but it I doubted that, I need your expertise on this issue. Thanks
Yes this seems to be the case - the brackets have a slot in them to hold the jack in place It is a shame this is not mentioned in the Land Rover instructions accessories-instructions.landrover.com/enUSA/all-new-discovery/G2017002

"you can buy them from anywhere". Trust me, don't buy from anywhere else. I've sent 3 sets back from other companies because of shoddy brackets made of flimsy steel, or with missing jack points or completely blocked jacking points. THese seem the only decent ones around, no wonder they're always out of stock
wonky back? it's not wonky that's the design if you don't like it don't buy it? Sick of folk bleating on about it because Jeremy dick head Clarkson said it once....gets repeated... it is the best vehicle I have ever owned and have owned many top-end motors and I for one love the offset number plate....
There are no power steps on my ford... but it was made in 1956... and it does not have a heater... a water pump....overhead valves...it only has a 3 speed gearbox etc so I think its fair to say it was well behind the times !
Excellent video, extremely helpful, I didn’t end up taking anything off and used a Stanley knife as suggested……. Putting my hand behind before to make sure there was no pipes or cables to get damaged
