This video is 3 years old. My S7 edge has been bricked for almost a year now. In that time frame I've tried about 30 different how to's. Maybe they were explaining it wrong but this video is the only thing that actually helped to make it work. My S7 is like new again. I'm really glad i found this video. OK, here's what I found out after spending a whole day fixing my son's S8, he messed it up really bad that none of these videos on RU-vid worked, so here what I have been thru: 1- If you tried the solution described in this video and you got stuck in Initialization your phone is messed up and its beyond this fix, you need to download the complete firmware for your phone depending on the model, mine was SM-G950U for Verizon, tried to get it free from full-repair-firmware but couldn't so I paid about $7.50 (subscription for 30 days) on samobile.com for fast download because its about 4GB. The package includes: BL. AP, CP, CSC , Home-CSC and UMS, lookup differences on the net between CSC and CSC home(forgot which one I used), then use odin 3.11 or 3.12 to load them all each on its tab then put your phone on the upload mode by pressing and holding power+volume down and bixby simultaneously then press volume up to enter the uploading mode, when you see "added" on odin hit start. 2- If you got stuck anywhere or you get fail sha256 invalid, it means you need a special odin version called "sha modified odin" (all versions are available for free on official Samsung odin download site) Then start over again with sha modified odin. 3- Again, if you stuck anywhere, that means your phone requires re-partition and you need to upload a PIT file, which is another step you need to do, copy the CSC file and paste in new folder, and add a ‘.zip’ extension after ‘.tar.md5′ as shown below. CSC_OMC_OXM_G965FOXM2CRLI_CL15044066_ship.tar.md5.zip Extract this new created CSC.zip file and open the extracted folder and now you have the correct PIT file for your Samsung Galaxy phone or Tab. Use the sha modified odin and upload the PIT file and all other files (5 files) plus PIT of course (the check box for re-partition will be ticked automatically)...then hit start..hope this help....good luck Maybe I will make a video next time my son ruins his phone again! or maybe I will just smash it on the wall.
I have a Nexus 5X with a bootloop problem. I was able to get into recovery mode (going into the first "recovery mode" had the little green android guy saying "no command", but I was able to go into recovery mode by pressing the power and volume up button on the "no command" screen) and wiped the cache partition multiple times, however the bootloop is still happening. The same thing had happened to the same phone not even 4 months ago, but the only way I could "fix" it was completely wiping my phone altogether and doing a system reset. Apparently this is a huge problem with Nexus 5X, and there was even a lawsuit against LG for the mass bootlooping problem within this particular phone. If you can, please consider doing a video on how to fix bootlooping in the Nexus 5X in particular, because I've tried all the stops and nothing works except wiping my phone. Please help!
Gabriel Macaluso just because I somehow offended you buy saying no duh to your advice (which by the way was the most basic and lazy advice I've ever received considering I had already gotten it into that mode before ((obviously)) ) doesn't mean you have to get angry. Phew! made my life a little easier. I had a boot loop that was stuck on the flashing samsung logo on my s6. Just hold those keys untill the blue screen shows up and you are golden. At that screen you can flash your bootloader again via odin and it will jump straight into TWRP if u have that installed (and then you are super golden).
Thanks - I tried this with my S4 ; the TAR file you supplied did not work and only installed maybe 5%. I found an alternative TAR file, and that fully installed. However, the phone is still in a loop, so I am guessing that it has been physically damaged somehow. Thanks all the same - it was worth a try !
Thanks man, I had to do a shit ton of things differently as well as improvise but I finally did it, it took about 7 hours straight trying to find the correct firmware and this in general.
Hi Vinny, I did the exact same steps as you mentioned in the video. However, I did not download the same drivers as you as I live in Canada and downloaded it from a website that was listed in a forum. I get a "pass" but the phone is still stuck on the "Samsung Galaxy S6, powered by andriod screen" Any idea of what to do next?

Hey thanks for the guide, I was flashing a twrp file through flashify ad I got stuck in a bootloop when I try to use this method. i get the following fail message in odin. Could you let me know what I am doing wrong? Added!! Odin engine v(ID:3.1005).. File analysis.. SetupConnection.. Initialzation.. Get PIT for mapping.. Firmware update start.. SingleDownload. sboot.bin NAND Write Start!! FAIL! Complete(Write) operation failed. All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 1)
So I wanted to "ROOT" my Note 9 "N960F" Model just to overclock the "CPU" and do some fun stuff, for about a month I was studing the ways of opening the Bootloader and Rooting but then I finally did it! Hurray! One Month later I felt like it was making my Note 9 slower, probably placiboo but I wanted to go back to making it normal again So I logged in to the Recovery Mode on the "TWRP" Software and by mistake deleted the OS from the phone, it is now impossible to enter the phone, I've tried the most tips and tricks form the web and nothing seems to work. Any solutions?
idk if im going to get a reply on this ..but i need some help ..my phone keeps vibrating and reboots every 5 sec..this goes on and on till the battery dies out. idk what really happened.i did actually flash an android 10 on the phone and it was running normally ..but then later i noticed that it started to reboot by itself and theres no way to stay in download mode as the device restarts.
This is like just for the s6 or for all android devices ? Please give me an anwser because im gonna be dead if i dont fix my tablet. Thanks for replying.
@NerdTalk, I appreciate your tutorial. I made it up to the part where you launched Odin. My device does not show "added" at all. I have a Nexus 5, so I tried to update my driver software, but it says "Windows could not find driver software for your device." Another issue is I didn't know how to put it on download mode--it ends up going into fastboot, so I just left it in fastboot. I'm feeling kind of panicky and frustrated now. Could you help please?

Thanks! I finally have a working phone, i can also finally install software updates! This is the only working method for my phone and it's simple and only takes a few minutes, unless you download the md5/tar file on slow speed then it takes 5 HOURS!
@NerdTalk How did you turn off your phone? I have a Note 5 and I'm stuck on the boot screen. I can't turn it off since there is no removable battery. I tried hard reboot but it will just get stuck on the boot screen again. So I can't even put my phone to downloaing mode.

i just found your video because I dropped my s3 on the screen, and of course it cracked. my screen was already cracked before I dropped it this time, but it cracked more. I also broke my charger port so I have to use a battery charger to charge my phone. I've tried everything to boot my phone back up: press volume down, home key and power button at the same time, press volume button and home button when battery was taken out, let the battery sit out over night, everything. do you have ant suggestions on what I can do? I don't have the budget to buy a new phone.

I stuffed my phone trying to root it (in order to expand the internal memory with a partitioned SD). It boots through "Samsung Galaxy J5- Powered by android" (little note in top left "Set Warranty Bit: kernel") > Spark (NZ phone provider) > Samsung (pulsing brightness in a loop) FYI, the "hold vol down, home and power" option got me to the boot screen (Galaxy J5) even with this issue- Thanks. Unfortunately I don't know enough about what to do from there to make progress (I suspect I need to wipe it and run a boot disk or similar). For good measure, I tried the rooting ROM again but got "RECOVERY IS NOT SEANDROID ENFORCING Set Warranty Bit: kernel" and ended up in the same boot loop.
Ok, so I realize this is somewhat old and may not apply to my situation. But, I have tried this even without watching this video because I've done it many times, however my S7 Edge was recently corrupted (my fault as I flashed the wrong file in the wrong place somehow), now it's in a boot loop of the Samsung logo. When I try to restore it with the most up-to-date firmware, I get "wrong model" from Odin. Do you happen to know what may be causing this?
Brother can i know what is the TAR file that ur downloading in the video for installing. Is that any type of stock recovery file? i got my phone like dead now (gt-i9300) its not booting whenever i try to switched on my phone, there is a "teamwin" label on the screen blinking on it and nothing is happening. i would like to know if the 'TAR File' is some kind of stock recovery OS file for the Phones. Could really help it if you can answer.. :D

hi i have an android head unit for my car its unbranded chinese stereo. its stuck in boot loop and ive tried hard reset, factory reset and recovery from backup and its still stuck, only thing i have left to try is recover from sd card but there is no files on the card and ive no idea what make or model the unit is, it was bought overseas almost 2 years ago and seller is no longer in business and is unreachable. it came with no manual and a plain box so ive nothing to go on. if i connect through a laptop is there a way to get the rom details i need for an update? or even a model number or anything?
I rooted my phone using Odin a few months ago. Then it just crapped out on me. Now it is stuck in a boot loop mode. I can get it to recovery mood and download mode. That isn't the issue. The issue is that when I have Odin open the phone isn't being recognized. it keeps saying "USB device not recognized. the last USB device you connected to this computer malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it". I have tried reinstalling the drivers for my Sprint S6. I have also updated the media package for my windows 8.1. But it still isn't recognizing the phone. I am not entirely sure how to fix this. Please Help!! Also, in the top left hand corner where it says "[ kernal is not seandriod enforcing. custom binary blocked by fap lock
I can't find the link to download the Odin part for my Samsung Galaxy Core Prime...My phone still says downloading...so that step went fine but I'm having trouble figuring out how to proceed. I finally found the site for my specific phone and even registered with xda so I could see the forum. But, now it's talking about how I need to download firmwares for SamMobile..pretty much I'm confused and feel like I just ruined my whole phone!!! Which sucks because I use it for work!! Can someone help me please? Also, exactly how long will this take to download?? The video just says it'll take awhile..what's awhile?

I renamed bootanimation to bootanimation.old and now the phone is in a boot loop. Is there a way to simply rename the file back to what is was? I see hundreds of guides and they're all incredibly complicated. I tried "One click unbrick" and it fails with a driver problem... Any help would be awesome. I rooted the thing and I managed to disable certain android annoyances (like the sound volume warning, or the bootanimation sound)... but this is killing me! Thank you.

The part where you say to hold power button, volume down and home button, the phone I have is an honor 7 and it has no home button and when i hold the power and volume down key it still keeps on rebooting. Any advice on what to do?

My wife's s6 edge plus got to the same screen as yours with the unlocked logo and the word custom on the screen but we never did anything to it? It just one day restarted itself and stopped st that screen .. we of course have new phones since then but I kept the phone because it's in perfect shape and I want to get the stuff off it :(
Does this tutorial work for Samsung Note 4 too..?? Is it for any Samsung devices or only for S6 ?? i guess its only for S6 then how come other people in the comment section saying that it worked for their tablets and other devices??
newbie here. I own a galaxy S5. I pulled out my phone to turn off the wi-fi and it just died on me. The phone is charging up as I see the LED indication, the phone is receiving messages as I can hear the audio notification but there is absolutely no display. I already tried the power button fix but it doesnt fix anything. Now Im on this page. when I click your link it takes me to a new page but its for S6. I need a real workabout for my phone. My phone is manufactured in Vietnam as the box says and I live in India. Can you help me with the files I need? P.S. my phone is out of warranty and it costs a bomb here to have it repaired. i have an old galaxy s4 mini i9195 ...i tried 1000 ways but it starts showing samsung logo and restarts immediately....i tried to press only the up volume button with the home button to go to commands menu( factory reset didnt work either and now that menu is gone and shows only no commant) and with the down volume and only the home button and it goes for the downloading mode....so i thought it was the power button problem and i removed it totaly like you say.....and....NO...I REMOVED IT FOR NOTHING IT DOES AGAIN THIS SAME THING? I also flashed it with odin succesfully and again the same thing...any ideas please?

Need help with my LG Optimus F60. I got a notification for an update and once it rebooted, it kept going on a loop with the reboot. I tried a hard factory reset but it's still doing it... :( I seriously can't find anything

The problem I have is that my phone will not boot into the system for some reason and only to TWRP recovery, I can't do anything there because, the touch screen is unresponsive. Could some one please help!! (EDIT) Would downloading stock recovery fix my problem?

I tried the repair store and they couldn't do it so I just got back on my computer and was not giving up. I flashed the Pit file by it self then I downloaded another firmware from Sammobile and idk it just went through. I was trying for days and could not flash because it would get stuck on setup connection or mapping. I got lucky I guess, took my 6 days but I did it.
