My brother recently knocked my Chromebook to the floor and the display became just like it was in the beginning of your video, with just a dark and grey screen, but doing just as you did, it worked out beautifully! Fidgeting the cable around, the screen was lit up, and everything went back to normal!

i had won a new chrome book from a work and it worked for about 3 months and stopped working that was five years ago i put it in the closet and figured it was the mother board cuz when it went out on me it was a hot summer day and i was out in the sun . so now i have an almost brand new five year old working cromebook . i used another video to see how to get my specific models cover off with out braking it and i took a close look at my internal display connectors and wow i saw main connector was at an angle and could see the half of the pins on one side and i pushed/plugged it back in as i watched it make a better connection i was so satisfied watching the plug cover the pins and it worked i am extremely happy . i feel like i won a new computer again lol. i liked and subscribed.

This was my problem and I worked troubleshooting all day as far as why was my screen black until I notice that there was a background display when my phone shined a light on my screen and then that's when I came across your Channel and just like that the solution fix everything I am so upset I did not notice the background sooner thank you for everything

Wow, thank you. I was trying to fix this on a school chromebook. I was concerned because we have ASUS, not ACER, but as soon as I gave the frame a tug just barely with my fingernails, the "lights" came on.

thank you so much for this! it worked immediately tip: don't be scared to break open the cover lol, i thought it would break and crack into pieces but it comes off really nicely if you apply force. also, when you're jabbing the wire, try pushing the wire covered with tape, that might do the trick.

If you are so kind and could assist me, mine has the following fault, and that is that after it began to function again after properly connecting the flex cable (it stepped out a bit after a fall), now the brightness remains very dim, you see the perfect image, without stripes or anything like that and also responds to commands of increase or decrease the brightness on the keyboard, but the brightness remains at a low level even when it is at maximum according to the brightness increase command. It also illuminates slightly more the right side than the left side of the screen. I noticed that the lamps are good, but in the area of the inverter it has some sound when is working, like a buzzing, all this happened after the fall. Also, when I touch the lamps cables when the laptop is on, the brightness is affected. What do you think it can be? Could you give me any suggestions? It's a HP X16-1025-nr. Thank you in advance.

I have an Acer R 11 Chromebook. I only used it for six months before it stopped working. When I plug in the charger I see the blue light is steady but I cannot get it to turn on. The screen is dark. I've tried pressing esc., refresh and power at the same time. That didn't work. I tried pressing refresh and power at the same time, didn't work. I tried pressing the button to brighten the screen. That didn't work. I am wondering could it be that I just need a new adapter? Please help me save this Chromebook. It was hundreds of dollars. It's a white Acer R 11. I bought it awhile ago but only just started using it six months ago before it died. Please help.

Tech Guru, thank you very much I was able to fix my C720 following your instruction.

I wasn't having it as bad as in this video but still had a bit of an issue with it. Definitely seemed to help. I was going to try and remove the screws and do the rest but I stripped my 4th screw trying to unscrew it and had no other way to get it out so I had to just put it all back together. That 4th screw was just refusing to turn. Tried doing it with a plyers and would not turn. Only other way I can think is to get a screw extractor but I'll just wait till it actually gets bad enough to where pushing the wire up doesn't work.
