A Public Broadcast TV Company's Sound Engineer thought turnng up the Volume of Mixed Signal (Vocals+Background Noise) improved the *clarity( of the vocals to my headphones ; )
Hi, how do i exactly set default the speakers? mine only says realtek digital audio output after we resetted the pc, the speakers isn't working anymore even tho it's plugged. I also tried updating the drivers but nothing seems to work need help pls

You fixed my sound issues when I had listened to another how to video that didn't discuss the most obvious one that you did. Right off the bat it worked and I'm grateful.
Just a heads up. The boot loader can also affect audio when I boot windows on my nuc8 using clover the audio simply doesn't work but when I use windows boot manager it works just fine! Great video anyways!

can't believe it, i swear this helped a lot. all i needed was the incorrectly plugged section. I checked and i accidently put the microphone plug instead of the headphones plug. thanks a lot!
Thank you! I had no idea the audio source could be selected via the little speaker icon in the lower right. I didn't realize that was a drop-down list. I just setup a new monitor yesterday and it was set to the monitor and that monitor does not have built-in speakers. I love it when people post helpful information. I thought I had tried everything. Your steps got me through it. I am so happy, a problem I have been sidestepping and struggling with for several weeks.
Here is the best solution for no sound after win 10 upgrade: Control panel>Sound>Speakers= Enabled ( must have a visible tick inside the green dot)>Properties>Advanced>Exclusive mode> Disable/Untick the option=Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device>Select the best settings on the default format option (24 bit 192000 Hz studio quality) at the very bottom of the list, if supported by your hardware> Ok every open little windows to come out of it and close Cotrol Panel. I have just done it as a sudden light bulb went on in my mind and it worked straight away.

Thank you for this video. Number 2 solved my problem. Kids had changed to oculus as the source. Never would have thought of that on my own. Just subscribed to your channel and hit the like button.
Also be careful of audio enhancers. They can sometimes cause issues so do a quick scan of your audio and it will ask if you want to then then off. Most of the time this also works.
I plugged in my Oculus Quest and it detected the speakers and after I unplugged it, it still detected them so I had to switch it back to Speakers / Headphones. Thank you so much for the help! :D
Sometimes we all need a good analogy so we understand and this is the first time I heard someone explain how to fix a problem in a way that really hits home and makes sense, thank you Robotech - comparing the audio source to how your TV works was brilliant!
Quick fix. Uninstall High Definition Audio in Device Manager and restart computer. High Definition Audio will be automatically installed again after rebooting.
My audio wouldn't work! It wouldn't work if I had my headphones in or out. So what I did is I went to the sound icon in the bottom right, I right clicked, spatial sound (off), click windows sonic for headphones. Now beware because it makes a weird sound so turn your volume off when you do that. Then once you click windows sonic for headphones, click off right above it. Hoped it helped!!

another solution: unplug/plugin a headset then leave it for 10 seconds then turn up the volume on the settings then unplug your headset then play something. it should work. it worked for me. edit: you have too do it for your speakers too
this didn't work for me so I slammed down a whole monster and figured out that I can plug my vr headset into my computer and run the headphones from there so that I can get sound without fixing anything
i just bought a laptop and have not used it that much, the sound has quit, it says the device is getting sound but i can't hear it, i have tried everything updating drivers, system restores nothing work
Crazy thing. Audio suddenly died in the middle watching a RU-vid video. I can't find the source of the problem. Restarted the computer, the USB speaker seems to be fine. Analog earbuds also gives out no sound. Then I clicked the speaker tray icon and I saw the device name that hijacked my audio. It was a broken wireless earbuds said to be connected while still in its charging pod. I disconnected the bluetooth of that earbuds and changed the output back to the USB speaker and everything is fine again.
Unfortunately, nothing here worked for me, my computer's audio randomly stopped working two days ago, I've tried everything, yet nothing works. My audio devices say sound is being produced, but none is.
my solution was / Device Manager, Digital Media Devices, Uninstall TV. / the problem is that there was no communication between the TV and Video card high definition sound. HDMI , not a sound problem, not a video card problem, it was the TV communication problem.
My audio wasn't working, so I came to a video with no audio and having to use the captions. But my laptop would slow down and mute all the audio, I never knew how to fix it.
