How do you avoid your whole paper coming out with the foil transferee on to it? I’m ruining many sheets because they keep coming out with literally the whole foil on the paper. I have used settings 2 3 and 4 and same results 😫
The foil should only be sticking to toner. Perhaps your printer is leaving residue on your paper? If so you can try cleaning it (directions are usually on your printer manufacturers site) or try a different print quality setting. Some printers have lower quality or toner saver options that may help deposit less ink. Hope that helps
I just ordered my minc. This video answers many questions. Thank you can't wait to try it! Also... What color is your nail polish?! It's perfect for this video! ❤️
Lol I know how to do this but I still wanted to watch your video, ( I love all your videos) you explained perfectly! Shared with a few people already 🤗🤗🤗 hmmm I might be laminating with my Minc
Great video! I would love to have one of these minc machines so I could do my own foil. Instead of printing the color on an inkjet and the black on a laser printer could you print both in the laser? Or would the foil stick to color printed with a laser printer?
I appreciate the laminated advice. I was curious with my own. I wondered if I had to buy ANOTHER machine just to laminate a few items. Worth a try. Thanks☺️
If laminating a size I’d a bookmark, do you cut the laminating sheet to size of bookmark before putting in cover sheet and feeding through minc? Thank you.
I've wanted to buy one but am afraid of the terrible reviews...so many of them! They swear it stops working in a short time and show videos of them smoking and melting!! Yet I still want one. I don't know either if the company is very good at customer service. A dilemma. I'm curious why they don't advertise it's laminating capabilities because that was the other thing holding me back. I sure didn't want 2 machines. Yet it sounds more than capable. Basically it sounds like a laminator with temperature settings. And pretty:) I'm all about the pretty.
Hello. Do you have a video how to foil download stickers from etsy? If you don't have - it will be good to explain for the begging planner people ( like me )
Hi, Heidi! I love your video! Just learned about foil laminating. Want to get a unit, but the link takes me to a 12" size unit, and the one in your video looks much larger. Can you help?
Does your Minc really releases the feed so fast like in the video at 23:00? Mine feeds up so slow, I wonder if there's a setting for that? 🙂 Thank you, hope to hear from you
I have has things printed at a Staples and the toner they use doesn’t work very well with foiling. I don’t know why but that’s the experience I have had. Hope this helps you 😃
Laminator are great but the size of things you can put through the Minc is what makes it amazing. I don't want to be stopped from foiling something just bc it won't fit, so I'm thinking I need the Minc rather than a regular laminator. Unless I can find one with more than a 6-inch slot.
Do you think regular laminator can foil then? And would you be able to foil in a laminator and last question can you use these foil sheets in a laminator?
If you get the black toner on your plastic sheet, I heard that it comes off with acetone nail polish remover. Might be worth a try on an old one. Very nice tips, TY.
Hi! I have never used foil before but would like to know more about the process. I have a laminator but I can see you use special sheets to hold your foil and card before putting it through the laminator. Can you tell me what it is made of and where I can purchase them? Thanks for a fantastic tutorial.
Aaaaaaaah!!! I've been hoping this would come out, soon!!! You weren't joking about fun stuff coming while you get ready to move! Best of luck and smooth packing, Jesenia!
Thank you for your reply! I bought some from amazon but the it doesn't foil very well. It leaves a lot of sports where the foil didn't adhere. I would really really appreciate it if you could recommend one. Thank you :)
Quick question about the double printing and foiling - does the second printing actually print over the first foiling or does the foil kind of resist the toner? It's a tiny bit difficult to see if the pink was on the gunmetal or not. Thanks!!
You can’t foil on top of foil if that makes sense so the pink doesn’t go on top of the gunmetal The artwork is designed though to not overlap so it’s not printing on top of the first print. Not sure if that could happen if your design does overlap. Hope that helps some
megan.juliana, I have and it does not come out as well as the Minc. I have tried running the project through the laminator 4 or 5 times and still the same result, some spots not foiled or the edges of the wording is frayed and not straight. I have not tried the plastic folders she was using so I don’t know if that makes a difference. I think because the laminator doesn’t get as hot as the Minc that could be the issue. But to me since I’m the only one using the foiled stickers it’s not as big of an issue.
I use the same foil....I use the mini Minc machine...my foil still doesn't come out like that. I've tried different settings, I've tried running through multiple times, letting it cool, even running a rolling pin over it. Not really working 100% :(
I recommend trying different paper. Some papers foiled better than others - it can be a bit of trial and error until you find something that works well with both your printer and the machine. Also - be sure on your laser printer not to use the save toner option. It will use less ink which I find isn’t good for fouling
I too have the same problem as Amy Cain, I have had my Minc Machine over 12 months and I can never get a complete foil done, there is always gaps. I go to Office Works to get my laser printing done. very disappointed in the whole thing
