Looking for simple, practical tips to improve your life every single month? 3ke.to/MyLifeCoach Join world-class mentor, Kirk Duncan, to learn leading-edge techniques that will assist you to overcome struggles and achieve your goals.
How do you forgive others?
Here are 3 steps that helped me how to forgive people:
1) Self-expression-. You need an outlet; the hurt needs to come out of your system. Drain and flush out what you feel.
2 self-expression techniques are a) Writing. Write anything you want. Let it all out. b) Get outside and talk to yourself, complain, shout--anything to vent out and have a different environment.
2) Nurture your body. Your body needs help. Get a body massage and detox all the negativity.
Also, a nice soak in a warm tub of water with epsom salt also works wonders.
3) Learn the lessons. You'll be a changed person on the way to healing and perceive things differently when you apply those two things and learn the lessons. Let go and forgive that individual. You'll realize that every experience has value.

Forgiveness is one thing, but avoiding further contact with a person who repeatedly hurts you is another important option.

Farhan Yazdani i could not agree more. I am an extremely sensitive empathy that got scapegoated by my Narcissistic mother monster I have learned the way to release the pain on the spot and delete the experience. I am now thankful to the monster mother for all the lessons.

Forgiveness and reconciliation are two separate things. Forgiveness is mandatory for your own sake. Reconciliation, or a restoration of the relationship may not be possible. Forgive and keep moving on.

@@need4HIM very true. All parents are imperfect and we need to value whatever they provided, which we can build upon, and forget whatever they failed to provide and deficiencies on which we cannot elaborate but only try to compensate

Yesterday I went to bed hurt. This morning I woke up hurt deeply....and then this was the first video that popped up when I opened my phone. The words 'hurt has no timeline' really hit me, because the hurt I felt was 'old'...triggered by a 'new' one. What an insightful healing video this turned out to be! And allthough I practise these 3 things allready.sort of intuitively, I can now make them more consious and deliberate. Thank you very much!!!🌹

A psychologist told me years ago to think of stress in terms of water, he said your cup literally does run over, and the importance of knowing the size of our “cup”. Thanks for this video, very helpful for me. I have new landscaping, I’m completely absorbed in planting and nurturing, then I sit and enjoy.

Wonderful strategies! I practice them each time I am hurt now. Earlier I always wanted people who hurt me, to listen to how they made me cry, and give an explanation for their behaviour, which never really happens! We have to sort this out internally all by ourselves! Thank you.

This is so true. When you carry hurt deep within, it truly does affect your body. Makes you feel really weak. You do need to let it out and talk about it.

Thank you so much for your video's! Once I explained someone that I have very good walls at home and my dog won't tell anyone what I said. Funny thing is that after some time saying the most horrible things I start to listen and hear everything I mention about a situation. And, with my sense of humor, I start to laugh. . . As much as angry people usually make me laugh (not recommended but people say funny things when angry, and so do I) The laugh is my nurture, learning what it brought me is the real gift to myself. Most times I feel sorry for the person that hurt me after my explosion. They gave me much very good lessons and that's what it's all about. I hope my English is sufficient, with love from the Netherlands!

It’s also important to realize forgiveness is not always reconciliation. Especially cases with scapegoating & domestic violence & especially if certain behaviors don’t change or betrayal. We need to work through the feelings but also may need to set boundaries or cut off ties. According to what that person does if you know they will do it again.

Thank you! I've watched 7 videos on forgiveness so far and every other one has been useless vague, unactionable things. One actually had as their second step for how to forgive somebody as "forgive the person". . . . yeah! If I knew how to do that, I wouldn't have googled "How to forgive somebody"! Love your advice. I feel like expressing yourself and learning from the experience both seem super important. Looking forward to trying them out.

Kirk, Thanks for the 3 steps. I didn't think I was going to survive my divorce but after 6 years I have finally gotten over my ex, forgiven him and now can look at him with new eyes and have a different relationship with him. I journaled a lot and that really helped me, i didn't do the massages but ran a lot for anxiety release. Lessons learned is hard after a 23 year marriage but I see what my life is like without him and it brought up some major issues I don't want to have again. I am now going through a break up with a man who I met after my divorce and It hurts a lot but I am going through the process and these steps help with the process..

I love this. I practiced these three things with out knowing I was going through the process of healing myself. Even though I blamed myself for it and I couldn’t get over that for a long time. Please make a video on how to stop beating your self up after being hurt. Thanks 🙏🏾

Very good! This is so true. Writing and/or journaling is a good way for me to release too. This reminds of Louise Hay's book, "You can heal yourself." In this book she has a list of illnesses that manifest based on the emotion someone is holding on to. I'm sure you know of it Kirk. Oh ya...and I'd love a massage. Ty for your info.

What they usually don't say is it isn't instantaneous. This week for my own subscribers I talked about forgiveness and kindness--and how it makes you better. In a nutshell forgiveness eventually sets you free--as the adage states. But what they don't tell you is it doesn't just happen the second you try it. And yes there are some things that may be unforgiveable. But the important thing--for you is that you try.

What about if your first marriage ended when your husband runs off with someone who pretended to be your friend. You lose your home and end up homeless with two babies one a few months old and born prematurely. You then get involved with a man who has a child whose wife ran off and you both start bringing up the children together and he drinks himself to death. He cannot conqueror alcohol. Again you end up homeless. The children have suffered but there was no where to turn. We all survive. You then get involved with someone who helps you when you are ill and weak but he turns out to be a narcissist. At this point you are just running on gas.
