Your words really touched me, Nicholas. Really very profound. Thank you. Carolann. "People will feel more alive because of your work. They cannot do it themselves, they can only use your art to do it". "Feeling unconfident is the price you pay for making this amazing thing".
Oh so cute, when being so real! "...here take my painting, you like it..." Everyone should hear your insights & learn, if they have not previously,... to appreciate & grow & share... Thanks Wilton😊☺ Sincerely, CC
I totally agree, showing one's art is really scary. I have a show coming up in March of next year and I am extremely scared of people's reaction to my show. But it is necessary to get exposure and and grow!
Wow! Your last three videos were amazing! I really needed to hear this today, especially. Quiet the differences, pair it down, and go deep even if it’s a little scary! I think it’s the way you explain it. I never realized that creativity is hazy and unclear. I’ve been moving forward waiting for this grand cloud clearing to occur. Now that I know it will always, to some degree be murky, I can go on to make my most authentic art because that is what I am after. Love being a creative! Thank you, Nicholas!
Thank you for this video!!!^__- I haven’t been in my creative streak nor in my Art studio since the end of last month…for today I packed a bigger sketchbook for during my lunch break at work…Thanks so much as I love your videos now!!^__^
We haven't released the time yet, but the workshop won't be on Facebook. If you've signed up for the waitlist, we will email you all of that detailsed information as we get closer. All those signed up will receive a replay if you miss it live.
I'm not starting out, but I am starting again. After my baby girl arrived 3 years ago I haven't done any painting. Enter the 'no time' and 'exhausted' clichés here. My new series of works are going to be autobiographical, which falls in line with what you say about making personal art. Should I concern myself with creating art that includes universal meaning, or should I just focus on me, my experiences, emotions etc?
Mr. Wilton is it possible to converse with you. I have had massive changes the last week in my art career. I really need some sound advice and I need it pretty quickly. Shot in the dark but maybe you could hear me out. Thank you
I will be doing live talks on our Facebook page and here on RU-vid in the coming weeks - Tuesday's at 12pm PDT. That's a great time to ask questions that I can answer live. Feel free to email me at info@art2life.com with any further questions.
Hi Nick, firstly thank you for sharing with us your ideas and art knowledge. I am a practicing artist and have been listening to you for a couple of years now and have learned good things from you and your team. While I agree with what you say about confidence issue, I feel as if you were slowly loosing touch with the world outside arts. Creativity is at the core of many other professions, so is the issue of confidence, dealing with rejection, rejecting letters, uncertainty, doubt...In one of your recent videos you said 'we are the most sensitive people on the planet'. I think it's a dangerous idea to think it's exclusive to arts and artist. You have been slowly putting art and artists into exclusive category, almost as art was here to save the world and artists are the saviours. The history and an honest look around shows within every profession there are sensitive, good, bad, lazy, arrogant, honest people. Let's not turn art into religion.
Isn't it possible that there are artists in every profession? :) And my teaching is for artists, so yes, my talks will be geared towards them. I appreciate your feedback!
@@Art2Life Sure, Nick, perhaps creatives would be better word. And I understand this is a motivational talk towards artists. However, again, why artists, isn't an artist and an artist world as imperfect as any other world? This is what I find a dangerous thought, setting one profession above others. Our value and identity - what we derive our own value from - isn't it from being a human alone?
@@anilimo9296 totally agree with you Ani. Artists aren't special any more than we are all "special". Once we put art and artists in that place we wall the activity of making art off to special people with special insight and knowledge and that makes it unavailable to those who don't necessarily think they are special. Its for everyone. All of us.
Christine Iacobuzio O Overthinking it was a good choice of words. I believe the creative mind is an artist whether it be a mechanic creating a new tool, a scientist a new formula, a chef a new recipe, an architect a new building, a designer a new fabric or car or mattress or toothbrush ; then there are many, many, artists alive and well who at sometime felt rejection and thanks to Nick for this encouraging time.
