I've been using gcp and firebase for over 3 years now, I have a lot of information and used many of the gcp solutions, when someone tells me how can I do this, I can easily create the cloud architecture, adjust the IAM policies, and explain how to scale, however I'm not certified and have no cs degree, but I'm sure that I'm skilled, probably more from the new certificate earners, I guess there should be a better way to examine the applicants.

If you're this competent, the course and certification exams should be fairly easy, why not just try for it and get certified? It's all they ask.

@@dimitriskres Because of the currency, I live in Turkey, and the certification is not cheap in our currency, unfortunately, and for someone with no job atm, it's even more expensive :')

Thanks for sharing those great tips but could the last step of creating a cloud portfolio be elaborated a bit more. How could one create a portfolio for prospective employers like Google n showcase one’s skills without having gcp services subscription. But confused on that front 🤔

I did Google it support and workspace certification but didn't get any job or difference in resume companies are not preferring this certifications better to go with AWS certification at least you'll have a hope

well of course... if you can get Jobs thru the certs you obviously have to pay for it.. but you already payed most of the certs off with 1 salary..

To be honest I don't think it is about money, google don't make money from these certificates, the amount they make is probably irrelevant if you compare it with their total revenue. The certificates fill another role, they bring more people to their platform which will bring them much more money in the long run. The price for the certificates are there to cover the costs I would guess.
