Some general overview questions on buying a suit of armor. This is the first in the series. Other videos in the series will focus on specific areas of interest. This is mostly a "talking head" video with a few photos, as there is not much to show with it.

You're welcome. That is kind of a complex question and I've been meaning to finish out this series with some more detail. Is there a particular style or time period you are looking at?

Hello sir, what could you recomend me for european armor if I want to go to an adventurer or mercenary style? I don't think i'll be using it for fighting but perhaps historical recreation but I don't know how to begin building own armor fit

For historical recreation find a proper example from a funeral effigy, surviving suit, or artwork. Adventurer isn't really a historical role associated with specific armor, and mercenary would just be someone paid to fight; that runs the range of everything depending how well paid they are. From no armor at all to high end full suits. I've been meaning to do my follow up videos on this.

hi james-san!🙂 To be honest with you.... I'm really happy that you explaining more different history of armor. But from my opinion for myself🤓 I wish I could learn a little bit more about the Japanese samurai armor from your side.🙇‍♂ By the way, it was really funny when you said, pss hey,... you wanna buy some armor?😆 take care and be strong💪

Thank you Bayardo-san. I have an unboxing video for the samurai armor at my side. Once I finish the mini series for buying armor I will have a detailed review for it.

Hey James, I live in south africa and I'm currently looking for Samurai armor, but they're expensive. What's your advice?

Good question, I'm not familiar with the market down there. If Iron Mountain Armory has a distributor there, I would go through them. For the cost, you can budget and save over time, or you can buy things piece by piece; a helmet first, then do (body armor), and so on. If you're willing to try making your own and have the tools and access to materials, there is a Facebook group dedicated to that. I've got a samurai specific video as part of the follow-up on this series that I haven't finished up yet.

How do you feel about romance of men samurai armor?

@@takirbolden9315 sure thing. I know their katana aren't too great even at the price point. Their armor is a little shady; click it and the price is just the helmet and mempo! All of a sudden the crazy-deal price jumps to thousands of dollars. The picture look incredibly similar to the photos from Iron Mountain Armory styles and colors, who confirmed that Romance of Men are NOT an authorized reseller, either.
