Oh so I am having a really big problem with feel I’m only get like 4 miles per gallon for the box trailer with the cat is there anything you can do to help me
I have a 1994 T600, just turned engine up to 475 hp and 1650 tq. Eaton 9 speed, eaton 402 axles with 3.90 ratio and tall 22.5 tires. Best I have ever done is 7.2 at 60 mph. When I go 70mph I get just over 5 mpg. What am I missing. Final drive is .73
When you were getting over 10 mpg your were only going 58 mph; when you were getting 7.8mpg you were going 75 mph !! Your mpg is all about speed - not rpm. You believe higher rpm will get you better mpg but you don't use your trans to get it - just go down a gear - in that 18 sp they are real close together.
Yes. I can run in high direct at 60 not split high and rpm at 1500 and get 7.2 if I split it it drops to 6.5 so yes speed is a factor but rpm is the key. 60 on two lane.
@@CATDADDYDIESEL I owned a 03 kw t600 w 3.55s and super 10 6nz 475//1750 setting avg no better than 6.3 avg hauling 48ft flat . Then I bought an 06 pete 379 w 475/1650 stock tune 3:36 & 18 speed pulling flat . Avg 5.5-3.5 mpg no bs . I never tried keeping rpms low. I thought sweet spot was 1350 rpm 🤦🏻♂️ . I ran it at 66 mph & 1325 rpms trying to save fuel . I tried taking to dealer to bump hp to max but since it was still under warranty they were asking $2500 to open it up . I got so discouraged spending so much on fuel I let that dang truck go . I wished i knew about the rpms trick . Ive never heard of a kwopper getting that mpg even empty. Good job there
