its not fake, its called hypnotism people. look it up its real. i was hypnotized during my highschool graduation night in front of all my senior classmates. i was dancing and singing N'sync's "bye bye bye" without my shirt. yeah embarassing and reallllllly... i mean reallly memorable for everyone that night.

i love this. it's the best demonstration of how if you focus, your mind can recreate an experience. your brain will send signals to your body and give your physical changes. that's why when he tells the guy to look at him. it changes his pattern of focus, thus changing how his body reacts. it works with anything. being stronger. jumping higher. running faster.

Look up "Sequence Strategy" in NLP. This is a hypnosis technique, not created specifically for purposes like that, it's made to invoke a FEELING as it is stored as a sequence of PHYSICAL SENSATIONS. By having someone actively remember and rehearse the same process, they will (to some degree) re-experience it. One thing that many of the "i call bull" people commenting on this totally miss is that the person isn't really "DRUNK" chemically. They are just re-experiencing the sensations of it!

@Hazelnutfilling It's called a "placebo effect", founded entirely on the power of suggestion. It doesn't work if the persons doesn't believe they can be hypnotized. Simple as that.

@DarthRane113 he doesn't have to 'unprogram', but he can reprogram it to give a different response to that trigger word. You can reprogram it to have no effect without any difficulty if you go into the hypnotism again

I like the fact that at 3:40, the fellow says "I don't trust you..." and Brown says "you trust me," while tapping him. I've noticed he'll tap people at key words he'd like to instill in their minds, so I love that you see him use this to get the chap to trust him. :-)

@bestballer94 make sure to vent it every so often or your container (which needs to be sealed) can explode. also you can add sugar and mix every day to make it stronger

Hypnosis is not fake, humans can simply feel things psykologically(yeah my sp sucks), like tickling is something that happens in your brain and a person can be trained to not be ticlish if they concentrate enough, and people also usually feel more drunk than they actually are.... Thats why they call hypnotism "the power of suggestion", Its nothing but an act. Only if you have a mental problem would it be real. Thats why not everyone that listens to death metal or rap just dont go out and kill people when not paying attention to the music while driving in their car.

For those idiots who don't know how this works, you have to know what Derren is. He is a mentalist. He plays with the concious state of the human brain and therefore manipulates the behavior of the human. In this situation, he is recreating the instance of when this guy last had his favorite drink. Then he plays off the emotions of this student, which when mixed, creates a drunk state. After this, while drunk, he associates the feeling with a word, so he'll feel this whenever he sees the word.

the word is irrelivant, it was something to make him go back to that state of mind. he didn't show his friends so they couldn't use it against him.

NOO, everyone saying this is fake has no idea what the mind is actually capable of. This is a form of hypnosis, it is totally possible. You can be hypnotised even to not bleed or feel pain in certain parts of your brain... this is relatively easy and you can actually do it to yourself. The reason he didn't show the card is because if every single person on tv knew what the card said, they could just show this guy those words and make him drunk every time they wanted.

Hypnotists aren't fake. Anyone can do it if they know how to. It's easy as fuck. All hypnotizing is is just making a person relaxed and go into a daydream. Then the hypnotist will suggest things to you about what is happening in the daydream, and basically if you let yourself relax enough, it will feel as if you are living the daydream, doing anything the hypnotist will tell you and not caring about your surroundings.

He wants the hypnosis to work and the audience fuels it so really the dude just believes hes drunk when he truely isnt so hes conscious he putting an act on but he does it because theres an audience. They hypnotist just puts him into the mind set and makes him want to believe hes drunk, so he acts drunk:)

I'm really intersted in the whole 'mind over matter.' thing. It's interesting. I don't know what can be done and what can't. I've dabbled in it. I'm in Ti Chi, and I've only begun to scratch the suraface, but it's plausable.

@MrMindza You can't completely say that - it's sort of like the placebo effect isn't it? As long as you can get someone to believe in something you can change their psychological state. Of course hypnosis is a little bit different because you are not presenting a false stimulant, but you are still being stimulated in a different way.

you have to get drunk first to know what it feels like before hand so its a win win situation
