Thank you alot. This is very well explained, concise and to the point video. Much appreciated for the effort youve put into it and it really does show.
Wowww it's really helpful for me.... I too suffering from elbow humerus fracture but can u help me to fold my hand upto shoulder by excercise... By an video plzzz
Despite not feeling instant pain after a lift yesterday, I woke up this morning without the ability to straighten my right elbow. The first stretch didn’t really do much for me (probably because I’m not the best at loosening up in general), but the second one helped and after only 5 times of 30 seconds, my arm is mostly back to normal. It still does slightly hurt when trying to straighten it out, however the pain is minimal enough that I can do it with no problem
@@method2madness762 yep! Took a few months of consistent work on it but it's back and stronger than ever. Doing wrist flexion/extension exercises as prescribed by a new PT I went to ended up helping strengthen the elbow too
Found a great way to apply the gravity extension stretch. My tables were not the right height. But I laid on my back one foot in from the edge of the bed and stuck my arm straight out. The elbow was just beyond the edge. Very comfortable position so I could stay there as long as I wanted. Over the course of two or three minutes my hand sunk about 2 inches. Three days ago with my upper arm hard against a wall, my hand was 10" away. It was getting better anyway each day, but after the bed stretch, my hand now can touch the wall.
Hi Michelle. I suffered a devastating distal fracture in my right arm last year. It took a 6 hour surgery to out it back together with metal plates and screws. My arm was so stiff after that. Till I watched this wonderful video and incorporated these stretching techniques in my daily routine. It worked like a charm. Apart from stretching daily, I almost always dangle my arm from the couch while watching tv, gently for prolonged periods and alternate it with light weights. It's worked like a miracle. Within 2 months, I regained a lot of extension. So much so, even my surgeon was impressed with the progress. God bless you. Thank you.
I am so glad I found you.......I strained my left arm too much during operating a mantis small garden tiller.......I did not notice any pain for 2 days....Now it has been 11 days and I just started the exercise until the 9th day. I am taking Xarelto ....strong blood thinner......My whole left arm turned purple/black and now at 10 days some of the blood in thinning out.....I went to the ER at day -7. They also said I had a broken blood vessel.... In the ER, they did not tell me to try to straighten it out.........so I did not learn about it until 5 days later was I told to exercise the painful arm.......I was wondering if I can straighten out this frozen elbow???? Should I go to a therapist ???
Thank you, tried these now, literally 2 hour after removing my cast and I already have a lot more control over my arm. Not even close to what it was but definitely better
Thanks for the video. I broke my elbow a few weeks ago and had surgery to get a metal rod into the bone. I'm getting the cast off in a week and I'm stressing of how will I extend it again.
hi maam.. god bless you and your family, your video have given me a lot of improvement, in just 10 days after my cast was removed, my elbow had been dislocated past 1 month. I had started following your videos, I’m doing this flexion and extension exercise twice a day daily, and my elbow is bit swollen, is it normal?? Or should I take a break from my exercise???
I just removed the slab I had for four weeks after dislocating and fracturing my elbow. My OT ordered a dynamic elbow flexion splint and she also recommended these two exercises for me to do at home once I'm off the split completely. This video just gave me the second opinion I never knew I needed. Thanks Doc🤩
I dislocated and fractured my right elbow It's been 4 weeks and doc gonna remove my cast and leave me for a while in splint plz tell me how long it takes to heal and get my hand in motion?
I had a posterior elbow dislocation. I am 1 week after the cast is removed. I can't extend it for the last 20 degrees as of now. Hurts a lot. Hoping this would change in coming weeks. Watching this video and reading the comments really help. Gives hope
Hi.. what’s the update on the elbow extension now? I’m really looking for reassurance right now as I just got my cast and I’m hoping everything will be fine once I get it off.
Hi,. Unfortunately i ended up with a bad physiotherapist who applied too much force. It led to some complications. As of now i can't get last 10 degrees and 15 while flexion. I doing only active exercises myself now. Not letting anybody touch it. It's getting better but not much. Hopefully i would be able to avoid any surgical interventions.
@@gabrielafuwape103 , I had to get a surgery. Extra bone had formed due to forceful physiotherapy. Now it's fine. But I lost last degrees of flexion permanently. But extension and overall strength is fine.
I think implementing a heating pad around the elbow for 10 minutes in extension before workouts would drastically improve ROM. Ive made exponential improvements in just 2 weeks from adding the heating pad!
Hi I wanted to ask if I can I do this after the cast was removed from my elbow because it was dislocated but I see have another new cast on my forarm because it did not heal in the first 6 weeks of broken fracture or should I wait until I recover well? I would love to hear your opinion about this, thank you so much 🙏
Please help me. I had an operation on my hand because the thumb tendon was cut, and after removing the stitches, the doctor advised me to do physical therapy, but the thumb tendon got stuck, so the doctor returned the operation to me so that the tendon moved in its course easily. But now the tendon is still short and my thumb can't reach the palm of the hand and the hand muscle is weak and I still can't grab small things with my fingers. Please advise me with information and how long it takes for the tendon to return to its length, knowing that the first operation was in October and the second was in January, and thank you very much for the videos. They are very useful, but I find it difficult to apply them because the strength of my hands is weak, especially the thumb.
Recently I dislocated a bone near my elbow and been following your videos it really helps me although i cant still fully straighten my arm but imgetting there
I recently dislocated, and broke my elbow and needed surgery. They took off the cast like 3 weeks ago. This helped so much, it kills me not being able to extend and I’m a gymnast so it will take me a while to recover, but this helped so much thank you!
I dislocated and fractured my elbow 6 weeks ago plz advice me I'm worried will my arm get back Into motion I can't fully extend my hand and it's still painful??
When I was a kid I once fell on the ground while running with all my body weight on my right hand. I didn't got any fractures but I couldn't straighten my right hand and from that day till now I am still finding what to do
Broke my olecranon and had a surgery a month ago, now I have wires in the elbow. Just started my physical therapy last week and it's extremely painful. Looking forward to using the knowledge from this video a bit further down the line, thank you so much!
How goes it? I broke my left funny bone on Jan 16th (they stopped counting at 5 frac’s) my olecranon almost shattered. I was riding home going 70moh cold wet and sore and hit an exit sign after almost missing my exit. Made it home and dropped my 500lb bike 4 times. I love it 🤣
@Virtual Hand Care I got fracture on my right elbow over 2 years back i was doing an exercise which you suggesting now. It almost 75% came to normal position but I took some gap of continuing this..so I wanna resume it back again.is that hurts now and will be normal??
This is very helpful, but how do I get My arm to band to my back without Having so much pain on the front of my arm close to my shoulder, Please help me!!
Good day, thank you for the informative video. I recently fractured my elbow, now at rehab status. You mentioned pull in the biceps... When i attempt to stretch my arm I get a pull in my fore arm, dont know the fancy names for that...muscles either side of elbow. Could you please advice. Thanks in advance
Thank you for this video! I had a bike accident, torn off my triceps muscle and damaged the elbow a little bit. I had a surgery and then had to wear a bandage for 6 weeks. I have been doing my physiotherapy for the last 7 weeks and I seem to have fully restored the extension (about 0 - 2 degrees) and flexion. However, my movement has the whole range of motion only when I do the exercises and the muscles are warm. When the arm is untrained I still miss between 4 or 5 degrees in extension and have only about 115 degrees of flexion + it is quite painful to do these movements. I will keep exercising and hope that sooner or later I will have the same range of motion even without training.
Here is an update from me: I finally got full elbow flexion only after 5 months of training. Now the flexion is identical to the healthy arm. My supination and pronation were not damaged. But the extension is quite stubborn. I have visited 3 different physiotherapists and 3 doctors. All of them told me I have 0 degrees of extension but I don't feel comfortable with it because I used to have about -5 degrees of hyperextension. I can make my arm fully straight but while on my healthy arm the head of olecranon is fully hidden under the muscles I can see a small bit of it on my injured arm even when fully extended. My surgeon told me that I still have time to get my hyperextension back, the room for improvement is one year, so I still have 6 months to get those final several degrees of hypertension and will keep training. I have heard that shockwave therapy might be helpful so I will try this as well
Hi, can I do these exercises even my arm is not in a supinate position? I can’t still supinate my arm because I fractured my forearm and my elbow can’t fully extend after removing my bandage.
Hi there Michelle, first time watching this, I was looking on behalf of my partner as he’s fractured his elbow today after slipping in work, he has a sling on after visiting the hospital, when roughly would you recommend him doing these exercises?
Mam still can't bring my hand to 180° as well couldn't contact my hand. It pains in the recovered part of elbow fracture when I try to give strain on the hand??
Hi ma'am, new subscriber here. I have a question, i had a fracture and dislocation in my elbow for about 7 years ago and i didn't go for surgery, and until now it is obviously deformed. Now, will it still work trying these techniques of yours? I hope you will notice this, thank you and Godbless🙏🙏🙏

I had my elbow dislocated 4 weeks ago..flexion and extension is improving but slowly and twisting is almost completely back now.. Does it mean my elbow was reduced correctly?
I had a radial head fracture which I had replaced. Had 2 surgeries not sure why but have plates and screws and not much extension. Is it due to the plate and screw still in place not sure but I still experience pain and especially in my hand this is so uncomfortable I’m 6mon post op

Hey I have a question, I broke my arm 4 weeks ago and I had a cast, I got it off 4 days ago And I tried doing the second stretch, and now my arm hurts when I move it, do you know why ?
Mam please reply... Can we do flexion and extension exercises at the same time... When I do extension exercises... My hand become straighten ... But at the same time... It is really hard to bend my hand towards shoulders.. So when and how should I do both exercises to get both flexion and extension back ??
I’ll definitely try this… I feel no more pain on my arm but I can’t bend my arm or straighten it out… I really really hope this works 😩 because I wanna start lifting weights already
