In this video I'll be showing you how I achieve a flawless, pore-less foundation look on my textured skin. Yes, everyone's skin has texture, but some people have a lot more than others. Large pores, bumps, redness, broken capillaries....all of these things can be difficult to cover without the foundation feeling heavy or looking cake-y on the skin. This method makes your makeup last ALL DAY LONG!

The first one I saw doing this was Wayne Goss about 6-7 years ago but people have probably been doing this for years. This method works. I definitely notice the difference when I forget this step. 😄

This powder trick works beautifully. I stopped this trick for a while and went bank to it. Sure enough, it works so well in the Texas heat. Also, I just loved it when she was waiting for the setting spray to dry, tapping her fingers together. I laughed out loud. I haven’t laughed in at least over a year. Lost my 17 year old fur baby during Covid and just all the frustration. You’re naturally funny, I can tell. You go ahead and keep cute funny things like that up. Beautiful and funny? What a delightful combo. It really felt good to laugh again. Thank you Risa.

1st time here, am definitely going to try this. I am 39 and have never ever been able to wear foundation as it always looked terrible on my skin. I'd love to be able to finally wear a full face of makeup and not look worse than I did without it. Also I love that u threw that mask tip in!!!

I just wanted to let you and your watchers know that I went ahead and tried the same thing but using Clinique products and L’Oreal finishing spray ( Matte first, then dewy last).I was shocked!! New subscriber here and I am loving your channel! I'm 44 and while my skin is in pretty good shape overall, I do have some fine lines and I have rosacea and when I flare up I need way more coverage. Finding a technique that balances my need for coverage with my desire to not look cakey or have those fine lines look way less fine has seemed almost impossible. So excited to give this a try! You can also use this method with mineral makeup as well. First apply mineral power foundation and the lightly apply the mineral liquid foundation on top. Works for aging skin, too. I learned this method when I was introduced to La Bella Donna Mineral makeup.

When you gave the tip for no makeup transfer at the end, it dawned on me before you mentioned it what the trick was. Thank you for sharing this as I will be sharing with my friends here in Southwest Florida. The heat had me completely giving up on makeup and I love this trick. I stopped using the disposable ones be they are just so darn itchy and not as good for the environment. With all my pretty cloth masks, I am going to try makeup again. (It’s Soap & Glory Kick A$$ foundation now) and ALSO I’ve been putting a small amount of eyeshadow primer (ABH) on my nose before my foundation and that’s been working wonders.

I love your videos Risa!!! I only follow your tips. We have the same kind. Oily- but sensitive and mature skin. I'm 41 and notice a change in my skin. I absolutely love Estee Lauder double wear... my favorite of all foundations. Too Faced Born This way, Too Faced Peach perfect , MAC fixed plus foundation I have tried and none come close to Estee Lauder double wear.

Risa, I wanted to say I tried this technique for the make up application today. I used what I had which was No7 translucent powder, Morphe setting spray, and since it was hot a Covergirl BB cream. My face looked airbrushed. I didn’t have time to spot conceal but the complexion was beautiful. I’ll be doing this a lot!!! Thank you!

Hi Risa, Great tip! These days I don’t wear foundation anymore but I do mineral tinned sunscreen instead. So can’t wait to try the new trick with the setting spray on the mask. Which for the record I absolutely hate wearing since my skin gets very sweaty and sticky under it 😰

Can't wait to try this method. I did see a TicToc video that applied setting powder, setting spray and foundation, much as you did, however some comments said it didn't work very well at all. BUT, now that you have done it successfully, I shall try it. I think I will do a quick run through in a few minutes. Great tip regarding setting spray on the mask.
