Good explanation - excellent idea to have an animation display! I've got a Q-Tech p019 sprayer that gave me a bit of trouble - cleaning the ball valve at the bottom sorted it...!!

There’s one other important component that might be an issue too - the prime handle bolt. It also houses a small ball bearing in the GX21. If you unscrew this and clean it then it should be ok if everything else has failed. I only know this because I did EVERYTHING and it was the last resort. worked fine after this. Don’t overtighten when putting back on though - I think this was also part of the problem

Thanks for the tip it worked, because I didn’t realize their was more than one ball bearing, piston bearing was stuck. Great video.

How tight is the lower ball housing supposed to be - hand tight like yours was? Mine is on there TIGHT, like would need a big wrench or hammer to get it loose... This video is awesome and explained exactly what was going on with my 490 after a couple years in storage. Thanks!

Before you go for the hammer(oldest trick in the book) sometimes plunging the pickup hose up and down does it. Flat paint flushes out of your pickup hose easiest. Other paints need more flushing to wash out. Then this won't happen as often.

I had my gun for few months and used it 3 times I was charged $330 to fix it wasn’t priming and he said there is 7 bearings in there and one was worn out so he changed the bearing , how can the bearing be warm out after 3 uses

Hi Mate Thank you For the video. I need to trouble shoot a problem on my Wagner3.29 pro spray. It was okay before but now it turns 360 all way round when I try to switch from prime to spray. The machine Goes to spray mode when I don’t press the trigger but as soon I press the gun trigger it automatically goes to prime mode but still I can see some water from gun but no water comes the prime hose even when the Machine is in prime. Plz assist me.

For once in my life it was something easy. The hammer tap solved it in no time

hitting the fins on the intake valve housing is fine to remove the housing from the fluid section but by no mean would you ever strike it head on. That's anything metal on metal 101

what may be wrong with my pump?....it will not prime, and the motor seems to surge very fast, without priming....very fast...never heard it go that fast ever.....any comments?
