I did NOT know- "Blue Lake", were "string-less"! Very interesting! May I ask what site/place you got that from? (Or possibly even, a "dependable, reliable source" that YOU, trust?!) Thanks a ton!

So far my favorite beans are Christmas pole limas! I just have to grow them every year! I also love rattlesnake pole beans for their prolific production in my zone (10a).

Very informative - loved seeing your trellis ideas - thank you! :) It's my first year growing green beans: question: you know how after the first 2 leaves come out, next comes the first climbing vine? if the first climbing vine to sprout accidentally bends / snaps, will the plant survive? should I cut off the bent / close-to-snapping vine? Also, if a tendril goes all thin and shrivelled like it's dead - should I cut that off or just leave it be? Thanks :D

Hint: if you're patient you can place your beans with its belly touching the soil for good results. . The belly would be the arched section of a bean where you can see the small oval.

What happened? Did the seeds not germinate? Hopefully everything will work out next time.

my seeds germinated but when they were about 3 inches all of the seedling’s leaves turned brown and shriveled. Maybe because of the heat?
