How To: Hyperextensions on Incline Bench (Lower Back Workout at Home)

This youtube video is a step by step guide for converting an incline bench into a back trainer. An incline bench is useful fitness equipment that belongs in every home gym. The adjustable backrest and the seat pad allow many exercises. This means that back exercises such as one-armed dumbbell rows and reverse flies are also possible. The only thing I haven't seen before are lower back exercises. In my tutorial I will show you how you can adjust the incline bench so that you can do the back extension, i.e. the hyperextension exercise. Genius! I was experimenting quite a lot with my bench to modify it somehow into a hyperextensor but have never actually taken straps into consideration. 😅 Silly me

Ever since I saw this video I've been using this method, and it works just as well as a roman chair. To get more range of motion, I can put this set up on a couple of 45lb bumper plates.

Hab genau die gleich Bank und probiere seit ner halben Stunde rum. Position von der Bank hatte ich schon, aber wie ich vernünftig halt bekomme war mir nicht klar. Dank deinem video hab ich jetzt gemerkt das der Gewichthebergürtel, der eh nur rumliegt, die perfekte Haltevorrichrung ist. Danke danke danke ❤

@@FitnessCreator Das könnte gut möglich sein. Eine frage hätte ich noch zur Übung. Ich hatte mal gelernt, dass man bei der Bewegung nach oben die Wirbelsäule gerade halten soll, also sich nicht nach oben biegen sozusagen. War dies eine falsche Annahme?

Du kannst diese Übung mit gerader Wirbelsäule ausführen oder den Oberkörper aufrollen. Letzteres soll den Vorteil haben, dass zusätzlich kleine Rückenstrecker beim Workout erfasst werden.

Im guessing you could add something under the feet of the bench to increase the height/angle allowing for more range of motion. Thanks for the idea, no need for an extra piece of equipment.

Could someone help? I have a roman bench for hyperextension. However the pad is quite steep making you stand almost straight. But I am still able to bow forward. Would this still be as effective hypertension? Thanks!

The incline bench is from the manufacturer Profihantel. But it works with any other incline bench if you can raise the seat and lower the backrest.

The incline bench is from the german manufacturer profihantel.de. If the backrest and seat can be adjusted, the manufacturer does not matter.
