Wow! I played against a 40 year old man in doubles who criticized me and told me the reason I couldn't play well and kept wasting energy was because I have terrible footwork and I keep hitting the shuttle hard no matter where I am. Than you guys made this video. I will practice tomorrow and try to implement all of your points! Thanks Greg and Jenny! You two are wonderful. :)

Wow, I just thought myself, "I need to work on my footwork" after I did terribly on court yesterday. And this video came out! What a timing! I am moving slow especially in singles where my anticipation is really poor (playing way more doubles normally). Also, mentioning muscle engagement in split steps is really interesting, never heard people mentioning that - I will try your tips and see if I can improve my footwork, thank you Jenny and Greg as always!

Today I used both my legs to get to the shuttle. I couldn't do it every single time. I even used the wrong leg once. But I was so much better than before. And Jenny's tip about loosening ur body as soon as the opponent serves so so helpful. I was bad at covering my forehand corner. But today I returned almost everything. Thank u guys. U guys are making badminton more fun 😃😄😁

You guys are seriously awesome. As an American late to the sport, your weekly videos have kept me motivated to improve & the quality of your videos continues to get better. I don't always watch them right when thy come out but I always make a mental note to come back to them before my next session. I know that you try to edit these to be tight and concise but I'd like to see videos with more repetition demonstrating what you're talking about. IE take a player that you have identified a weakness in, show multiple examples (with freeze frames to point at specific things) & then the same thing with good examples, either with your own footage or, if allowed, professional players in real matches. I often find your tips going by too quickly to learn the valuable things you're teaching. Keep up the good work!

I had an issue with my non racket foot dragging. Solved it by doing trail running. Jogging through forest/park paths with lots of elevation, and bumpy trails strengthened all of the little stabilizer muscles in my legs, and generally strengthened both legs. Now, using both legs is much easier and more natural.

Hey Jenny and Greg! Just wanted to say a big big thank you from Australia for all of your detailed tutorial/tip videos ranging from Beginner to Advanced whilst also being light hearted and entertaining! (love the puns and jokes, please don't stop!) I've been playing for about 5 years now after transitioning from 15 years of tennis and I only wish I started playing badminton earlier as I'm absolutely loving the sport. I initially had a lot of trouble making the switch due to the difference with the pronation and wrist movement but over time I learnt that the biggest challenge I had that was affecting the quality of all my shots was actually the footwork being almost the complete opposite! Since subscribing to you guys back in 2020 I've made significant improvements in my game and I'm now teaching a few friends that have started playing last year and it's incredibly fulfilling seeing their rapid improvement from week to week using all the knowledge I've gained from your videos and watching your professional gameplay.

I think one thing that can also be mentioned is take how a shot is played into consideration. A full blown jump smash for example is harder to regain control of the body afterwards than a lighter smash with feet on the ground, and thus making the following movement slower. This is also mostly true for dives vs lunges, overhead shots vs rear backhand, etc.

For me slow-motion is a really useful demonstration tool, especially with the speed badminton is payed at! P.S Jenny, a stunning finish at 5:47. To be fair if I played a shot as good as that, I'd be very happy too! ;)
