How To Incorporate Cremated Remains into Glass Art 

Tip: Document what the glass orb actually is on paper and somehow ID it on the bottom also. As time goes on those in charge of the contents of a home may throw it out or sell it not knowing what it is.

Glass blowing is such a beautiful form of art itself, and adding a loved ones cremated remains makes it even more beautiful! ❤️😍

Both of my parents were cremated. I had various glass pieces made with their remains. I have a glass heart with my father remains. And a large eternal flame with my mother’s ashes. I am currently looking at both.

If cremations is your wish, I think this is a beautiful way to display the remains.

I think this would be an awesome thing to offer when preplanning. I would love to have some of my remains made into these and presented to my kids at my memorial service.

That’s amazing! Very talented!

I had one of these balls made up 3yrs ago. I was awestruck by the finished product, I remember bursting into tears when I saw it for the very first time. It looks better than what I saw in the brochure. Rocky sits by my bed side and I say goodnight and good morning to him, just like I did when he was alive. I am going to get more of these made up for my other dearly departed fur babies.

Those are exquisite. I had not heard of ce ed mains being incorporated into glass artwork before. However, I had heard of cremains being made into gemstones. Actual gemstones. There is also the jewelry pieces that have a tiny vial for a locket or something like that.

Beautiful pieces of art! They are all stunning, the one with the funnel is my favorite. My cousins had fairly large glass beads made from their parent's cremated remains, they are pretty and no one would know of course.

That’s so cool Kari! I’m sorry Devon lost her boyfriend but she has a pretty way to keep him with her. I’m going to talk to my family and see if they’d be into this. I’m young but have a will in case I die in the line of duty. If they’re into it I need to make a call Monday. They’re so beautiful!

My siblings and I had these done. We used different companies each time. Some offer group rates. They're beautiful and personal. One company makes jewelry too.

How do they dispose of the little bits that they cut off? Just wondered if they did anything specific since it has a small amount of cremated remains.

Is there any type of documentation that will verify what this object is because what if somebody has a yard sale when they sell it

Engrave the base with name, DOB & DOD, & the word, “cremains”, or “memorial glass”, so anyone finding it can know it’s a cremains memorial. Display idea: glass globs, orbs, figurines can sit on a base with a light in it, to light-up the glass art.

Speaking about cremated remains when it keepsake on because when my mom passed we got a big urn and it keepsake on now and they keep sick on is there also a number inside for identification purposes

I already have my mother’s ashes she’s been i’ve gone from us 10 years, so could I just bring some of her ashes there to put in glass.?

In credible , that's what I want for my old bones , love the galaxy effect , eternally useful as a paper weight .

I would think it could be possible to engrave a name and birth/death date at the bottom. And add color to the engraving, like headstones.

Are the tips that are cut off disposed of in a certain way or do they just end up with the other glass pieces? I've thought of doing this and was surprised to hear that the Catholic Church forbids removing any of the cremains for jewelry or art work.

@Kari the Mortician I was wondering if the paint used for the air brush technique for cosmeticing the deceased is safe for the living and if brands like dodge can be used on the living as well I really like the variety and it looks like it has more stay power. I also saw a living guy with a big hole in the front of his face missing his nose and wondered why the restorative techniques that are used in funeral home couldn't be used in cases like his?

Do you have to open the remains yourself? Or what? To get that teaspoon I would think to many that would be emotionally overwhelming

My godson's mother had snowflake Christmas ornaments made, and shared with the godparents. They are lightweight, and probably some kind of plexiglass.

Can you do a video or a person finger print being marked in something

You know people think it’s weird that the Victorians put their departed loves ones in the living room until it was burial time? In 100 years I’m pretty sure people will wonder why there’s so many dead people in glass art.

I found this video really interesting how they do that for cremated remains I like how they did this three different styles and that's really cool how they do that I have cremated remains of my mom and cremated remains of my aunt and I have to hide them because I can't look at them it's sad because they're in a box I'm thinking of getting an urn and burying them in the ground and fulfilling their last and final wish and giving it to their sister when they're older sister dies and finally putting them to rest for for good but that is really cool that's different in a way but I really like that that was very interesting and that's very nice how they do that you know I'm going to say the created remains look like the stars like in the Galaxy or something like that it just it looks like they're swirling all into one part and that was really nice I feel very sorry for Devin's loss on her boyfriend

If I want to be cremated in my firepit on my property is that allowed? I've seen Hindu funerals where the men in the family cremated their daughter on the Hindu temple properly
